[Q] Mobile data problem - Galaxy Tab S Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello!
I have unrooted Galaxy Tab S 8.4. LTE
Mobile data turns off every now and then without any reason, both data and phone connection. It lasts about 5- 10 seconds and then turns on again. Sometimes it works fine for hours without any problem, sometimes it turns off every few minutes. It seems to turn off when I open some app, for example Chrome or Tapatalk.
Warranty maintenance said there's no any malfunction in the device but the problem still exists. I also changed sim card by service provider but that didn't help.
I have other tablet (Galaxy Tab 7.7.) and it works fine with the same mobile data.
Feeling a bit helpless, is this a software or hardware issue? Where to begin?

It might be a problem from your carrier or your tab s. You could try swapping out for a different tab s since it could be the sim card or the tab s. It could also be your signal strength. Where did you get your tab s from. And what carrier are you on right now?

i Also face this kind of problem, the signal suddenly loss and no network then back again have network.. From the first I buy this Tab S, I face many kind of problem

As I told on post #1 the same sim card with its data and phone function works smoothly on my other tablet, Galaxy Tab 7.7. So I'm 99% sure that the problem is in the device. But somehow warranty maintenance didn't find anything wrong in it.

"Glad" to hear that because so far I haven't found anything related in this issue from the internet and for a second I thought, am I alone in the universe with this problem.

[Q] Data Connectivity Problem

Hi guys, I need some serious help. I had the original Note and upgraded to the Note 2. My wife got my original Note. The Note 2 is not rooted. I had my new Note 2 for about 4 days, when I notice that my 4G/LTE (I am in Denver) "switches off" and then I don't have a data connection (can't connect to internet etc.), but I still show full towers on the phone and I can make phone calls. When I restart the phone, the connection is restored and I have 4G/LTE. I can also restore my 4G/LTE by switching my phone back and forth between airplane mode.
At times I would be hours without a data connection and then suddenly the connection restores itself (without me restarting the phone). I have compared my connection to my wife's original Note and her phone has constant 4G/LTE, even when I have no connection on my new phone. It is not area specific since I might have no data connection in the morning, but in the afternoon everything is fine (that is now if I don't restart the phone and just leave it be). I took the phone back to Best Buy and exchanged it for a new one and I have the same problem with this phone.
It is driving me crazy since I need my data connection. I've been on the phone with ATT and we've reset the phone and did all that. No luck. They are checking into "other solutions" but I am not hopeful. My questions:
1) What can I do. Anybody else with this problem and how did you fix it.
2) Is this a phone problem or tower / ATT problem (I don't think tower since my wife's Note is working fine)
3) Should I wait for ATT or try and exchange this again for a third time? My 30 days are running out.
Any input will be much appreciated.

While it's possible you've received two faulty phones, the more likely culprit is the only thing that hasn't been changed out. The SIM card.

N7100 keeps dropping network - tried multiple carriers. Faulty?

I've had my N7100 for 2 months now and ever since I received it the network will be showing full bars one minute, then completely disconnect the next (the little circle with a stroke through it symbol). It will remain disconnected until I restart the phone, at which point it will reconnect again.
This is an intermittent problem, which occurs on average about 10 time a day. Sometimes it will keep disconnect after only 5 or 10 minutes.
I have tried different sim cards, from different service providers - all have the same problem. When I put the same sim card in a different phone - no problem. So I've definitely isolated the problem to the N7100.
I've tried factory resetting the phone but this hasn't helped.
Is there anything else I should try or does this sound like a fault for which Samsung should send me a replacement device?
Which model are u using? I had the same problem when I just bought the phone.
I realized my phone which is the Lte model was searching for 4g network at times when the reception is poor and toggled to search for 4g network which caused the phone to cut the network because my phone plan only supports 3g.
Maybe try going to mobile network and select WDCMA mode only. See if helps. Otherwise its problem hardware problem

Mine is the N7100 - 3G only (not LTE) model.
Tried that, and it hasn't helped.

[Q] No data connection 4G/2G/E

Hey guys, I picked up a new Samsung Galaxy S II (T-Mobile) about a month ago from the retail store.
About a week ago I was using my phone as a hotspot for my xbox and then I got disconnected while playing. I wondered what was the problem and I saw the data icon was in the no connection state. Now I restarted the phone in case it was the simple loss of signal bug but it wasn't. My data wasn't coming back on. No matter what I did the connection wouldnt come back on. I called the tmobile tech support and they gave me rubbish things such as reboot phone, take out battery and wait 20 seconds, and all that jazz. I then noticed a pattern starting with my phone, the phone would connect to 4g then a second later disconnect. It would repeat this all day and not change to anything else. If anyone can help with this problem it would be greatly appreciated.

I had the same issue a few weeks ago. It was the SIM card. I only had the phone for 2 weeks and got a new sim card when I got the phone. It just went bad. Go to a corporate Tmo store and get a new card. They will give you one for free.
I have this same problem with my SGH-T989.
I'm running CM 10.1.3 (Android 4.2.2), and it's vendor unlocked (used to be a Rogers phone) now on the TELUS network.
Data will randomly disconnect, but I still have all signal bars in grey. A reboot will enable it again, or sometimes it just comes back on it's own. I've been to the cell booth in the mall and they've swapped out a SIM card for me, no change.
I also noted that when the data isn't working, my WIFI doesn't seem to either. Modem issue? How can I tell what modem I have and what would be best? I assume CM 10 comes with it's own modem for this phone and when I flash CM it writes the modem too?

Flashing a ROM usually does not touch the radio. Newer ROMs(4.2.2 and later) need either the UVMC6 or TLMC4 radio from here:

[Q] ace 2 network problems

I've just bought a new galaxy ace 2 and I am experiencing some problems.
When I'm using only gsm network type (i think, now I'm testing HDSPA), typically, when I'm logged on icq, mobile sometimes loosses signal and displays there is no service. After few seconds is everything OK and network is back at full singal. This can be seen also in battery usage view, when I'm having always yellow line with thin red places.
I'm now using it with mixed mode on HDSPA and there are no problems with network.
The phone is under warranty, so there is no problem, but I dont have much time and first I would try other solution. I tried to flash it with odin to same fw, but no change. I tried to google it but I didnt find any solution. Could you give me advice?

Had this problem before I updated to 4.1.2. Use to happen on trains for some reason as well.

I also have problems with mobile data. I have done everything :factory reset, flashed roms, and finally fid solution yesterday but i have problem again . My mobile data doesnt work no any type of network and do icon

Well the "train" issue is due to the train being like a faraday cage, blocking the various microwave signals, the reason you get a signal on a train is because they have amplifiers to retransmit the signal into the train and vice versa.

Samsung s4 mini (i9195) connection problems (mostly working on edge, no 3g/H/LTE)

Hi guys,
I have this problem with my galaxy s4 mini: a few days ago, soon after rooting the phone with the procedure found in this forum, mobile network began to work only on edge, and sometimes there is no service at all.
Therefore, I tried to check the sim in another phone, and it works good, I did a hard reset, and nothing changed.
Then, at this point I flashed the rom with a stock firmware, I flashed the modem, but mobile network wasn't working yet, (it was still working on edge).
Thus, I decided to flash the rom with a CM 13 (snapshot), and here something happened !
In fact, LTE/H/3g have begun to work, but only for short periods of time when in use (looking some stuff on the internet), like 10-20 minutes, and only when the battery is almost completely charged,
at least until it reached 60%, then, when it drops below, it begins to have the usual connection problems.
Since I've rooted the phone, I haven't installed any app, I put a sd card in it, another thing is that, when I use mobile network (internet or apps) the phone becomes really hot.
If someone could figure out what could be the problem, I'd really appriciate your help,

only 2g works....
wcdma only not working......
after searching for selecting networks manually its says: selected network (!!!) unavailable....
also when try to make a call on wcdma only mode it says: not registered on network....
buts works fine on 2g mode...
I want get back 3g but how?!

Hey guys... ther's a GS4 mini version with LTE and another without LTE.
Are you sure you flashed the correct version (LTE)?
If you install the incorrect recovery (non-lte) it will not even allow you to flash the correct files.
