4.4.4 Update and Problems - T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S 4

Is anyone having Problems with keyboard and other things after OTA update to 4.4.4?? Is there any way to return phone to 4.4.2 without cancelling warranty? Thanks

Still seeing the occasional "earpiece going dead when dialing" bug I had seen in the previous version.

No problems clean installed using stock rom this weekend.

Stay away from the OTA.!
Pp. ?

I Used Kies to update and nothings wrong with mine. Kies is the way to go

Having Wifi problems

Hey guys, I'm just wondering if anyone else has had problems with their wifi not wanting to turn on,
I've switched roms, I've went back to factory. Everything i can think of. So If anyone has some experience with this,
Or ANY clue whats wrong, Please let me know.
Thanks!
Why don't you tell us exactly what did you did when it stopped working
Nothing really, Just normal use on Stock when poof it didnt work anymore. I rooted and used custom kernels/roms to
try and get it back working. But it hasnt worked yet. I think It may have been after an OTA update from ATT. But that shouldnt linger after a full wipe, would it?
reboot your modem and router at home..
That Didnt work, It doesnt work on any wifi network. The phones wifi will not enable.
what does your baseband say?
Baseband is I317UCAMC3
ok, that is ok...what rom and kernel are you on?
Rootbox's 4.2.2 Rom with its default kernel. But this issue started happening on Stock, non rooted. And has persisted all the way through 3 different roms so far.
Ok, this is supposed to be only for the gt-n7100 version but it sounds real familiar and if it's a bug in jelly bean it could be your problem. Either way it shouldn't hurt to try.

Since we do not have a stock UCAMA3 Build to flash via odin, what build are you flashing to return the stock build ??
Are you downgrading and taking the update ??
We need more information..... as a step is missing I believe. ..g

Problem after latest 4.1.2 update! Bug?

Hi guys,
I have updated my note 2 via Kies to the latest 4.1.2 update. (xxdme6)
My screen does not come back if i am talking with someone via phone app, viber or kakaotalk.
Its a big problem for me now because if i call someone and talking, and if i have to search a number from contacts while talking i cant see the screen. so i can not turn off my phone. screen just doesnt come back. i see the sensor is working. I did wipe and factory reset but its still same.
Is it a known bug?
I do not have root. Stock samsung rom.

Random reboots after update

So I installed the latest update for my T520 10.1 (which just added the kids mode) and now my tablet does random reboots all the time. Probably at least once an hour. I am running stock rom with root. I did have the cybertronic kernel installed and thought maybe it was causing the reboots. So I Odin'd back to stock, and am still having reboots. Anyone else experiencing this? (I did clear cache and factory reset)
hi,
I have exactly the same problem after the updates T520XXUANF4 (with last CF-Auto-Root)
Ditto after a factory reset ...
return to T520XXUAND1

I think reboots are kernel security related as my note pro 12.2 was rebooting several times a day after root and removing Knox, now I'm re rooted with Knox and no reboots in over 24 hours.

So I had frozen all the knox files with titanium backup. I went in and unfroze them a couple hours ago. No reboots since. Crossing my fingers that it works.
edit: still lots of reboots, so I chose to go with a custom rom.

Same here on the reboots! My device is no longer rooted after the previous update, which worked great. Only MagazineWidget, WatchOn and Screen Saver are turned off. Since I wasn't planning to root again I can't use Titanium Backup, but I'm assuming that whatever I froze there would show up in Application Manager in the "Turned Off' tab? The Knox application still shows the "download" icon b/c I never installed it.
I checked the Sammobile site, but it looks like it doesn't show U.S. firmware. Anyone know how I can get back to the previous update?
i am running stock which is not my normal staus but have never had a reboot on latest update or previous versions. just wanted to throw that out there.
have reload T520XXUANF4 and it's ok if you answered no to supersu when he wants to disable knox
no reboot after 24 hour

ps ; who speaks better English than me to explain the problem to Chainfire?

From my reading, I think you can use the firmware for Cellular South on sammobile. Or you can use the one from this link and follow his directions. The firmware is for France, but gives you the option for English language. I have used it several times myself.

Also having random reboots after latest update. I was able to root using the same Chainfire file as I did with the previous firmware.

So after using a custom rom for a few days, I really wanted to go back to the stock rooted rom. Here is my procedure. Maybe some of the steps were unnecessary, but in the end it worked. No more reboots!
I first went into twrp and wiped cache and dalvik cache. Then I did a factory reset. Then used Odin to load the stock rom. Went into stock recovery and did another factory reset. Then went thru the process of installing the updates. After the updates I rooted then did another factory reset and cleared cache. I had a random reboot shortly after that when I was restoring everything on the tablet. . But that was over 7 hours ago. No more reboots!
Factory reset and staying on stock worked for me. No random reboots since I did this yesterday.

Thought I'd contribute with having the same issue - TabPro 8.4 here (T320).
Stock NG2 ROM, but I was having reboots from NF2 as well.
I'll do a factory reset and try again, see if it helps.

May I ask which rom you went with? I'm experiencing the same problem and am trying to figure out which rom to install in order to get rid of the reboots.
Wiped data, rooted and said no to disabling Knox - no reboots yet!

I tried all that were available. Each has its own strengths and weaknesses. I finally went back to rooted stock because I had a few apps that wouldn't work with the custom roms. Look a few posts earlier about doing the factory resets.
Solution Found
I updated my T520 from NAE to NG1 using Odin and rerooted it with CF method and I was experiencing random reboots. I did tow things:
1. I defrosted the knox notifications in TB (I had disabaled it when super user asked me to...)
2. I went to SuperSU app's settings under cleanup I tapped reinstall and followed the given commands there...
I have not had any reboots since 2 days ago. :fingers-crossed:
I just wanted to share this with those that are having random reboots. Give it a try... hopefully It will work
I flashed scrosler's stockish ROM and also haven't had any reboots in two days according to bootlog uptime. Woot!
As already mentioned, "defrosting" Knox with TB und skiping Chainfires SuperSu notification worked for me on CFrooted stock ROM. No reboots anymore

This appears to have solved my rebooting problem, too.
Another Solution
My T320 was rooted only once with TowelRoot and I disabled Knox when I was prompted and never tripped it. The soft reboots started happening and I searched all over for a solution but cannot remember where I had found talk of it. I haven't had any problems ever since I did it in the middle of July. I installed Xposed Installer and then installed the Samsung Kitkat SystemServer Crash Fix module which apparently was developed for the S4.

[Q] screen on lag after downgrade from 5.0.2 to 4.4.4

Can anyone help with this. I have a sprint note 4 that I rooted and was working great, but wanted the stock 5.0.2 upgrade. Used odin to install stock 4.4.4 and remove root. Worked fine phone took the 5.0.2 upgrade. Rerooted and installed wifi tether router but could not get it to work, found it is not working on 5.0.2, dam. Used odin once again to return to stock 4.4.4, rooted, installed wifi tether, everything works with one problem. When turning the screen on I now have a severe lag between the button push and the screen light up.
I odined back for other issues and still had problems. .even a backup was not working... i wiped everything, all data etc, 2 times then went back to nie....then took the otas back to lollipop. .now everything works fine except i still hate the colors

Fixed, it was a bad sd card had nothing to do with the dowgrade.
Good to hear you found your problem. However if it's tethering that's keeping you away from Lollipop then you can put that to rest because you can easily enable wifi/usb tethering without the need for a third part app like tether router (which i have payed for as well). If you expect to stay on the factory rom/firmware then Lollipop would be a wise choice due to the new ART (android runtime) and it's overall effeciency compared to KK . It has a lot of benefits and other than the stock colors, there's no reason you shouldn't update to Lollipop. Do a little searching here in the Sprint Note 4 forum and you'll find a few easy ways to enable the built-in tethering.
Thanks for the info, did exactly that, found galaxy tools would provide the tether

You are SOL for now. Cant downgrade rom OE1, but a new OTA is about to come out, I'd sit tight until then. or...Many people flash Noterized Rom. Try flashing that and continue your troubleshooting.

OTA MM update crashes phone. What's the best route to fix this?

My phone was working pretty well on the 5.1.1 lollipop update, no crashes, somewhat okay battery life after a full factory reset and manual installation of programs (Reinstalling with kies seemed to kill battery life again). I jumped at getting the MM update when it as available. I had previously rooted my EVO 4g and had issues getting updates after a certain point, so I haven't rooted my Note 4 yet, since I was happy with the updates.
Now, though, the MM update keeps crashing my phone. It will sometimes maintain stable operation for 20 minutes, but it will eventually crash and reboot. I once got the mmc_read_failed error on a reboot, but I am not completely sure what is causing the issue. The phone worked fine until the OTA update installed. After that point, it crashed once while setting up my Google account and has been crashing regularly ever since.
What's the best way to fix this? Are there any good Marshmallow updates I can install, either rooted or stock. Also, any I can use Odin for?

Factory reset AFTER your OTA updates clears up most problems.
Good luck
I had this happen. I was getting the mmc read failed 6x a day. Nothing fixes it. Internal mem failed. My free replacement came in today. TWRP, tx's rooted stock Rom/everything restored with tb..... Good to go.
Sad too, it was a launch day mint condition phone.
