Bad lag in Waze - Galaxy Tab S Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Anyone else getting bad lag in Waze? Like in the 10fps range. Even maps for that matter, Google maps seems pretty choppy too but not as bad as Waze. Its funny my tf101 runs Waze better and its 4 years old

It might be the apk since its not optimized for all android devices. I get lag it those apps too.

Graphics stuttering

After rooting and doing a hard reset my nitro is significantly faster, but I'm still experiencing stuttering on high quality YouTube videos. It doesn't occur for normal video payback, but does seem to happen using maps or graphics intensive games. The playback will slow down and then go very fast to catch up. Is this just the gpu having a hard time keeping up? Or is this a software problem that can be alleviated through either an update or a fix on my part?

I'm experiencing this myself. I can watch vids on the desktop version of YouTube at 720p with out a problem anything but the app seems to stutter from time to time.

What particular graphic intensive games are you having trouble running smoothly?
Dragon Fly! ran smoothly, although it gave an "Async" notice that I never saw on my Atrix 4g. Fruit Ninja had issues with lag and Minecraft would stick entirely for a few seconds, although I realize that game is in alpha.
Additionally, Google Maps will often stick when loading up traffic, satellite and other info when trying to move or zoom.
Just some thoughts, trying to see if anyone has similar experiences.

[Q] Heat when using internet connected apps

Hi,
Has anyone else noticed that when using apps that connect with the internet that around the camera the phone heats up a lot?
happens pretty quick too.. after a couple of minutes you notice it will be warmer than the bottom of the phone.
never noticed that on my DHD.
Just wondering.
I have had it happening. Playing music does that, but Angry Birds Seasons is the worst offender, so much that it stutters and crash out.
This is definitely an issue. Any cpu intensive app has caused the camera area to get extremely hot, and some of those apps have then crashed. I think its something that will be bad enough to require some attention

Google Currents causing reboots?

So I love Currents on my Transformer but my Nexus just won't play nice - looks like a possible issue during syncing.
I don't really get reboots a lot but once currents is installed it's pretty constant. The video pretty much explains it - this is completely re-producable and the reboot on uninstall happens every single time I've tried it.
Anyone else suffering from this?

Gpu rendering, reccomended?

Now that ics has been out for a while, is it a good idea to have this on?
It does make the phone faster and only affects two of my apps but i still dont know how does it affect battery or RAM(i read somewhere it affects ram)
Do you guys use it?

It's useful for scrolling in 2d apps. Although on xda makes the pictures not come up. I only use every once in a while.

I've chosen to not use it. It was useful in the early days when not a lot of apps worked well on ICS, but nowadays it breaks more than it fixes in my experiences.
I don't use it. I find it makes many apps laggy. Though it does boost a quadrant score.
In theory, it would be better to the let the GPU render stuff as it takes the strain off the CPU. Too bad it breaks many apps, though.
nope dont use it. does more problems than good
I use it, never encountered any of this, EXCEPT for a GUI glitch in Power amp. Besides that, every works perfectly.
On side note, back when the Samsung Vibrant first got ICS (somewhere around December), I found that many apps just crashed when using it, such as trying to pick out a wallpaper in GO SMS. Nowadays, nothing besides that Power amp glitch I've noticed. And battery life is somewhat better too.

The United Airlines app used to have problems when this was on -- would show up as an incredibly tiny rectangle on the screen, as if scaling was totally thrown off. I was flying a lot then, so I unchecked the option. The United app has been updated a few times in the past few months, and I tried checking force GPU, and the latest version of the United app works again... I've got 104 apps installed, and the only other one I've seen that complains is Flipboard -- got a message once, yesterday, that it's not designed to work with forced GPU and that I should turn it off. I ignored the message, though, and Flipboard seems fine -- as does everything else I'm using.
I'll leave it turned on until / unless I run into incompatibilities with apps that I find important...

Google maps performance sucks...

I can't find a solution in the web so I am trying it here.
Isn't there a way to properly force 120hz on google maps on a S20 without root? I have no clue what Samsung had done. Especially the app opening and closing animations are horrible. Stutter everywhere. I tried everything including having the newest software and factory resets...
I have a Xperia 5 ii in-house and this device didn't have this problem. It's totally smooth in comparison. I get it that some apps are running on 60 hz to conserve battery life but this is strange. Hopping in and out of the camera app doesn't lag at all although the app is also running in 60hz. Anybody has a solution and can confirm this ugly behavior?
