Hi,
Does anyone know how to undo A2SD? ie move all the apps back to the internal memory then remove the ext3 partitions from my memory card?
I'm running a rooted 2.73 ROM with RA-HERO-v1.2.2 recovery image and a vista computer
cheers
I'd also be interested in this, I often get a message saying something like 'sd card maybe not inserted or full' (cant remember the exact msg atm) which I think may be related to apps2sd. Couldn't find any info on the message though.
I'd solve it like this:
Step 1: Format SD card (thus also wiping all partitions)
Step 2: Wipe and re-install any rom - to avoid problems with dependencies from your old setup running with A2SD.
but then you lose all your apps!
He wants first to put his apps back on his phone and then he will format SD card.
But how? I want to know that also
1- Backup your apps using AppManager.
2- Copy the FAT32 partition content to your PC.
3- Format your SD card entirely to FAT32 erasing the EXT3 and SWAP partition.
4- Copy contents back to your SD card.
5- Install AppManager.
6- Restore Your Apps.
After following the guide I get this error while installing it on my kaiser
Installed the image before, with camera end power button on, then reset the phone, and I get this error?

It looks like you've put .rar files in the andboot folder. You need to extract them and put the androidinstall.tgz or androidinstall.tar file there instead. Same for the androidupdate.tgz or androidupdate.tar
Did you create the partitions on the sd?
they are not rar files, Winrar can open TGZ/TAR files, that's why you see the winrar icons.
I don't have partitions on the sd card, i can't create them in Windows or with partition master?
EDIT: I did partition the sd card with ubuntu live cd, they are both FAT32.
Did the whole thing again, made new files etc.
Only now if I hold camera en power button, I only get tri color, no option to flash. (I see the gray flash screen for a sec, then it dissapears.!
EDIT2: Flashed phone with original ROM, now it work with wm again.
If I nou try to hold camera and power button I will get exact the same error. (Hanging in tri color screengray flash screen voor 1 sec, then it returns to tri color.)
I'm spending the whole day to get this working and it didn't work.
My steps:
Atools:
Device: Kaiser
Reso: 240*320
Version: Froyo
Key Map: Normal
Cpu overclock: 520 Mhz
FStab> System AUTO > Data SD Partition P2>Swap> SD Partition 3
Save NBH File as KAISIMG.NBH in root of SD card
Mixer:
Add install: androidinstall froyo 2.2
Downloading Module update
Extracting Files
Make Map in Root of SD card with name: 'andboot'
Bootscript editor:
System > NAND p2
DATA> NAND p3
Actions:
Install system
Fix permission
Clear Davik Cache
Use SD partitioner
Disk options
Disk size 8GB
Number of partitions: 2
Fs Type: fat32
Size: 1024
What is going wrong??
someone that can help?
Next time wait, a post like "someone that can help?" it's unuseful, this is xda-developers (DEVELOPERS).
Change the thread with a more correct title.
the problem is simple:
FStab> System AUTO > Data SD Partition P2>Swap> SD Partition 3
mean:
install system on nand p2
install data on sd partition 2
use swap on sd parition 3
but in BSE you select:
System > NAND p2
DATA> NAND p3
So do you want data on nand p3 or sd partition 2?
Also:
- sd partition 2 isn't formatted in ext2 and the script didn't format it (if you have selected NAND p3)
- you didn't create a swap partition
I think that you have to wait and think before asking or you look like a stupid
Still didn't work after I followed your steps.
If I'm right the best is to install system and data on NAND, because it would be faster?
I created 2 partitions again.
First one = FAT32
Second one = EXT2
They are both 3.70GB
I've put my SD card in a rar file and uploaded it.
I would appreciate it if you could take a look at it.

sorry if i don't understand it good, english is not my first language.
use this file, extract
install-seq.sh in /andboot
start the phone
you didn't create a swap partition so set it to auto in atools or create one.
CHANGE THE THREAD TITLE!
I think i'm gonna give it up....
I think I miss something.
Again did everything you said.
Here some pics of installation on phone:

After quitting the installation screen:

I think you messed up something in atools/nbheditor.
start from the nbheditor, select the location for data and system (and all other settings), set SWAP TO AUTO, save the nbh,
don't close atools, go to bse select first install(only first install), save install-seq.sh
put the files in correct location and flash the phone, reset and wait.
Did everything again, install went good, only one error:
Found boot parameter for system
system on nand partition
found boot parameter for data
data on nand partition
failed
Install module for this kernel.
day 2 of not using my phone, hehe, but i won't rest untill it's fixed
try to apply this:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=848921
I can't get it working.
I think i'm doing wrong with installing module for the kernel, i can't find a guide for that, or am I looking not good?
I dont really know why I did the thing but its,
Making a folder name modules and putting androidudpate.tgz in that folder on my SD Card. The installation never asked me a 2nd time to install module for this kernel thing.
BTW what kind of installation you want on your kaiser?
SYS on NAND, DATA on WHAT SD Card Partition? Maybe you are missing something in Atools
Hello all,
Note: This is safe and will not harm your data.
What this script does is change all the mount points for sdcard storage so that everything maps to your physical sdcard, and not the internal phone memory. The script will survive ROM flashes/updates provided you do not erase your entire /data partition. You can choose to manually copy the script or use the clockwork recovery installation. To revert, simply delete the script from /data/local. Internal sdcard storage is located at /emmc. External sdcard storage is located at /sdcard.
Instructions for manual copy:
Copy the script to /data/local
Change script permissions to 755
Change script owner/group to root/root (or 0/0)
Reboot
Instructions for zip:
Reboot into recovery
Choose the zip and install
Reboot
Will this work if you are running stock? I want this because I want everything in one place...on my 32gb Sdcard.
Sounds great, I'm just a little nervous to try I it out.
If you want to revert back to the previous setup, do you just erase the script?

There's no way to make an script to show Storage as on Jelly Bean 4.1 that on Solid Explorer or any file mananger you only see SD card and external sd card
So an script that delete the emulated and legacy folders. just asking..

It is safe, and yes you can just erase it. Updated the OP.

Would this method work with my p3110 too? I upgraded to cm 10.1 and gl 2 SD doesn't work anymore
This doesn't seem to work completely; it doesn't make the proper mount points to /storage/emulated/0 This is the main location for Android 4.2
I could be doing it incorrectly though. Thanks!
This does not work on the latest nightly. With 10.0 or 10.1. I get an error flashing from TWRP, too.
Hi
I installed (12/15/2012) [SS] Jelly Bean CM10 v2.9.1 (4.1.2) version 3.0 on my desire and followed all the settings for CPU governor and A2SD scripts. Configured my email, and installed all apps from scratch.
Everything seemed fine, worked smooth. Last night the phone crashed and rebooted and somehow lost most of the apps., including Google play which makes things harder ... Looking at memory usage, it look like there is a problem with /sd-ext.
if i open terminal, and try to run A2SD again, it also shows a problem:
/sd-ext not mounted properly, it might have errors
Found block device: /dev/block/mmcblk0ps
Removing flag a2sd
Removing flag ad2sd
Removing flag dc2sd
Setting flag a2sd
/system/bin/a2sd: line 74: /sd-ext/.a2sd: read-only file system
chmod: /sd-ext.a2sd: no such file or directory
would you also like to move DALVIK-CACHE
I put the SDcard in my computer and it showed no errors
When I go into recovery, I can mount all partiotions without problems??
For now I will go to reflash the phone and start all over.
How can I find out what happened here and how to prevent that?
And is there an easier way to repair this problem
hoping it will not occur again...
Happy new year, best whishes for everyone, and hoping for help
D.
UPDATE: cleared all data from within recovery, cleared cache from recovery and reflashed the zip
when I try to run the a2sd script error is still there!!!
put the sdcard in mu computer, deleted and recreated the partition
and then the error is gone ... ??
How did you create the partition? Use gparted or 4ext recovery only, not minitool or clockworkmod recovery
I used minitool
What is the difference?
So it will crash again?
Anything i can do as a repair or do i have to start all over again?
Thanx for your help!

Minitool doesn't create the partitions properly.
Backup your sd card to pc. Then I recommend to delete all partitions and repartition using gparted. Search for guide in development section.
Copy everything back to sd card afterwards, then rerun the a2sd commands
Sorry for not understanding ...
Can I copy the ext4 partition as well then? If I delete that, I am in the same situation as yesterday after the crash (?)
Just running the a2sd again did not work then
Thx

1. try to backup user apps only using titanium backup, don't know how many have been lost, but can try and save the others.
2. copy whole sd card to pc. this just copies the whole FAT32 partition of the sd card. you will not see the ext4 partition when connected to PC, don't worry about it.
3. delete all partitions and repartition using gparted (step 5 here)
4. copy the backup back onto sd card.
5. full wipe everything from recovery, flash rom, run A2SD commands and reboot etc.
6. restore any apps using titanium, should go to partition automatically if everything is working. install another app like diskusage to browse all your partitions.
How to fix the dreaded sd-ext not mounting properly, or fix A2SDGUI not rebooting/crashing
The reason this happens is because you have flashed a rom that doesnt support ext4. You will have to change the ext4 partitiion to ext3 in order to get a2sd to install properly.
If you have backed up your data and just need to get a2sd running follow this guide, I am not responsible for lost data or a corrupt sd card
1) Download aparted app. WARNING: If used incorrectly you can destroy the data in your sdcard
Click tools. There should be a partition called FS: ext4, Select it, then press delete(WARNING DATA FOR APPS WILL BE LOST)
2. Click create, then select EXT 3 this time, and the default size 999, dont touch any other settings or you'll corrupt your sdcard, dont touch the init and end parameters!
3. REBOOT the phone
4. Then try a2sd install in terminal or if your using the A2SDGUI, click Dalvik, select Dalvik on SD-EXT, then hit Move and Rebuild, wait for it to reboot, if it does not reboot hit Move! and wait for it to reboot. It should reboot, if it doesnt reboot or crashes you didnt read step 3 when I said to reboot your phone after adjusting the partition, or you mistakenly chose ext4 partition!
If your were silly enough not to backup your data, you can download gparted iso and boot it using your PC. Then connect the phone and goto the ext4 partition and COPY all the files and paste it in a temporary folder. Then delete the partition, then create an EXT3 partition and PASTE back all the data files in the ext3 partition.

Eh?
- The ROM supports ext4 just fine, most ROMs here do. ext4 is also faster than ext3...
- The problem was that the partition was poorly created in minitool partition wizard, likely that it was not properly aligned.
- The issue has already been solved...9 months ago...
Hallo,
I'm really unlucky with this phone... My SD Card (internal) is disapperared and the phone says search sdcard or sd card is not installed.
With mount I can see something , /data is 25GB, but I can't root the phone and the folder /data is set with permission d--------, so I can't access it.
OK, I don't have CVM. Is there a way to re-format, change permission in the filesystem so I can re-flash?
Thanks

Update. I flashed JB stock korean 4.1.2 (F180K20B/G) and with JB I can see my sd card again, but the new error is "process "com.android.... stops to working" or similar.
It si a tipical Google problem. Has anyone the same error?
Thanks
Do the data wipe.
Flashing via KDZ doesnt wipe data
Thanks, but wipe doesn't work.
The problem is that the rom E97510B try to mount the sdcard in another path. But without sdcard you can't root the phone and you don't be able to correct it.
I reverted the phone to korean rom F180K10H and everything is fine.
