I have been searching all morning for an RUU that I can use to get back to stock. Everything I find is either broken links or links to rooted RUUs.
Can anyone please direct me to an RUU that is not rooted that I can use to get back to stock?
Please try searching using Google, if you're unable to find the information on XDA. I found this, using a simple search

That's great but the file on the link you gave for Verizon M7 is 99 MB whereas the signed RUU on this thread is 1.2 GB.
I also don't think it's helpful to tell people to search Google, particularly when I say in my post "I've been searching all morning".
Thanks

You posted a question in the dev section.
He was kind and moved it where it may get answered or replied to. instead of deleting it.
If you look at the second post in my stock thread, there might be some files of interest.
Otherwise use the rooted ruu that's available and then simply unroot...
Yes, thanks I found your thread after posting my question so I think I'm all set. The only thing I'm not sure of is whether or not I can use fastboot to flash a signed (encrypted) RUU or if it has to be decrypted.

ok so I exchanged two evo's yesterday they both came stock with the ota 1.47 I Was able to Root and Nand ONE!! no issues went right thru in 10 minutes using ota method.
Try the second one and I can't get this thing to nand unlock for the life of me. I have ROOT access no matter what I try from Formatting the SD card to trying every and any pc3 file I can find and I either get MAIN VERSION is older or Bootloader checks the file then goes back to the main bootloader screen and does nothing.
I am able to flash roms of course except those that require nand unlocked. So I currently have software version 1.32.651.1 release keys
WHAT am I doing wrong?
If you posted in the "Question" and Answer (Q&A) section you'd probably get more help. This section is for the development of software, roms, and fixes.

Your probably right. But since all the rooting methods are here made sense to post here. Mods can move it if they wish thanks

Unless your posting something you developed or talking about working on a group development/fix, it doesn't really make sense to post in development. Best of luck with a fix though.
Well apparentlyits getting a bit of attention here you two came in and looked. But thanks for the constructive on the point advice lmao.
As a side note I solvedthe issue using the three step easy root. I will link to it later when I get home

There it is
Im still on 2.1, 1.39, my phone will not do OTA 2.2, says its already up to date but its not...I rooted using unrevoked 3.21, so now I'd like to know if there is any other files I need to update, radio, etc.
My goal is to upgrade to 2.2, so if anyone can direct me now that im rooted as to what else I need to update and how can I update to 2.2 I would greatly appreciate it, and keep in mind my phone is not doing OTA, so I will need to do it some other way.
On another note, if I select a custom 2.2 rom, will this already include everything I need, or do I need to 1st upgrade to 2.2 then find a 2.2 rom? I guess my confusion is are 2.2 roms "compatible" with 2.2 phones, or do 2.2 roms already include everything.
Thanks in advance

Im not trying to be a ****, but... Read any of the links on this forum.. they are 80-90% about what your asking..
also, I would recommend a RUU to TOTALLY wipe your phone..
Food for thought.
I agree with both of the members who just posted to your reply.
Reading the stickies would be helpful instead of wasting space on the "Development" forums for your "Questions".
I believe that it's ignorance that we do not like, not questions from newbies.
..you should "search" the forum here for flashing the Hboot .76 so you are FULLY ROOTED.
If you already have done this then you can click onto these threads you see and decide for yourself on a 2.2 ROM that you like and flash it.
Remember, you should have the correct radio and wimax flashed as they have updated since 2.1.
Additionally, you should READ all the instructions and do it step-by-step before you flash anything.
Last but not least of importance, make a NAND back up before you do ANYTHING. (have Amon Ra 1.8 custom recovery; will have saved an image of your phone+wimax partition).
If anything goes wrong, go back to recovery and NAND restore.
*Read first and do not be lazy. - Everything you need is already documented. This is not a QA forum but you can find it by going back one step and looking for Q&A.
Good luck.
Thread moved to the Q&A.
@jontorres,
Unfortunately, the other members are correct. You posted in the wrong section. For questions or comments not related to development, please post under Q&A or under General. This will save you a lot of flaming.
There are many stickies, but since you already rooted your device, simply download Rom Manager from the Market, download any rom you want (I can recommend myn TwoPointTwo) and flash it using Rom Manager.
There is also a whole section with themes and apps that you can browse. For questions regarding said apps or themes, either post in the corresponding thread or simply in the Q&A.
@Sporkman,
Please refrain from calling people names (referring to your "lazy" comment in case you are wondering)

At least you offered more help, however, its not IGNORANCE.
I HAVE already searched, unfortunatley alot of these threads are from someone like myself who "asked" a question, which in turn received HELP, however we all have different questions and although they may appear the same sometimes they are and sometimes they are not.
In my case I already rooted my phone as mentioned on my 1st post, and my question was simple and did not warrant all this nonsense:
My question was quite simple:now that im rooted, do i need to update any radios or other files, and do the 2.2 roms "already" contain the core 2.2 software "or" are they simply "compatible" with a phone which already "is" 2.2.
See none of you actually read between the lines at my quesation, you simply assumed Im asking the same question everyone else has already asked, so the same way you guys tell me to "read" 1st, I also suggest read my question properly.
As a matter of fact I even pointed out an issue with my phone to help in receiving a more accurate answer, because on another forum some moron said "do the OTA" and he failed to read that i clearly mention my phone says its already updated and nothing to update, YET it is clearly 2.1.
But anyways, apparently when you ask for help around here it obvious if your a newbie you just get smart remarks.

The unfavorable remarks aren't because you're new, don't worry about that.
The safest way to be sure that your phone was completely up to date was do all OTA's before you rooted, since Unrevoked 3.21 is capable of rooting and nand-unlocking even the most current software on the EVO.
It is not necessary for you to be on the most current baseband radio or PRI, but a lot of people on here like to be the most up to date. Pros are that in general you'll get a better battery life (due to a more reliable radio connection) and better 3G speeds (questionable).
Also, your question is not simple, as I am not clear what you are talking about.
do the 2.2 roms "already" contain the core 2.2 software "or" are they simply "compatible" with a phone which already "is" 2.2.

What does that mean? What software? Also, stop using unnecessary quotation marks. I don't think you're using the right terminology, but I'll guess at what you want:
If you mean the radios, bootloaders, etc, then NO. ROMs contain only the operating system and possibly the kernel. Everything else is lower level stuff that you'll have to update via the appropriate PC36IMG.zip file. You'll need to search those out in the Development forums.
You can run a 2.2 ROM on outdated basebands and PRIs.
Honestly, you seem a little too frustrated with the free help you ask for on here. If you realize your mistakes, apologize, and move on you'll find the community here a little more receptive to your needs and slightly more willing to help you out.
I know the search feature may be a little complex, so don't be afraid to google your questions first.
Hi, first post here.
I watched the noob video, so I'll be as brief as possible.
I have a rooted LT15i, 2.3.4, 4.0.2.A.0.42, baseband 56.
OTA fails, and I want to move to ICS. What do I do?
I installed CWM via x-parts and did a backup.
Backed up APN settings, contacts, etc...
I've read heaps of warnings in all sorts of Guide/Tutorial/All-in-one/Everything explained threads.
But it's still unclear if I have to unlock the bootloader to get to ICS.
No offense to XDA, there's a lot of great tutorials explainings how to use tools, but most of the topics fail to provide an answer as to why you would be unlocking the bootloader 'this way' instead of 'that way'. Alot of missing context. I wont have a problem executing the guides, I would have an unlocked phone, but which kernel/rom do I dare flash? Battery/Charging issues, cpu freq, APN settings...
I see alot of baseband versions, but not mine? Can/should I change it out? (I like 'Why?' explanations too
If I want sleek and fast, which custom kernel/rom closest to stock can you recommend?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1653188
If things are unclear then you've not READ enough or skimmed over things.
Thank you, but it's alot of information to take in at once, and I've been coming here for months. I won't have a will to live after I'm done sifting out all the little details of vital information hidden in oh so many threads.

Then perhaps it's best to stick with the stock ROM. You don't need to take it all in at once you just need to start at the beginning and learn gradually and read what's relevant to what you're trying to achieve at the time.

You can find the answer to that by the name of some of the thread titles contained at the first link I've given you which is what makes these posts highly frustrating because there's one started everyday asking for information that's been rehashed a million times already and which can be found in the stickies in the general section.
I don't see it. And I would love to stick with the, newer, stock rom.
A simple step-by-step would probably suffice.
For example.: Revert back to stock and do an OTA
Un-root
Reset to factory defaults
Update with Software companion
Or can you right-click the link you feel i need to read in that thread and paste it? The titles are confuzzeling

Then I wouldn't bother trying to mod your device until you can learn to read.

I asked some pretty simple straightforward questions, I just wan't straight forward answers. Or atleast the link you feel i need to read. fyi, my phone is not FOTA'd and thats the only link about doing OTA on that page.
Anyone else on this Q/A forum besides this knucklehead?

You want what's been rehashed a million times, say you've been coming here for months but clearly you didn't come here to learn anything. You then said you couldn't see what it is you've asked for when it's clearly under ROOT so if you haven't seen that then there is no helping you.

I will just leave the answer here
Since I used the zergrush method to root my phone, I ran the unroot script

can someone point me to a 157 stock rooted rom? i can't seem to find it anywhere on this forum. Unless it doesn't exist for some reason?thanks in advance
you are kidding me???

1) check your sarcasm, i'm not your son
2) that's not stock
3) if this is all that's available, i will use it, thank you for pointing me to it.
There is some threads about it that's first. Second you should even type in google or on xda here couple words before starts new thread. Third you should flash 108 kernel than use newroot and after that flash again 157 kernel. And that's all procedure
Happy flashing

I wouldn't be here unless my searches came up fruitless.
Answer me this, if i do the OTA update and root that, would it reset my bootloader? i know it will reset the recovery

I think I remember reading if you do an OTA with an unlocked bootloader you could brick it.

People are baffled how others, especially People with around 500 posts can start such threads when the methods to root can be found in the General section, which have been there for weeks, and if you've not found a stock rooted ROM or as close as in the first few pages of both development threads that suits your needs then you're out of luck. Simply flash a stock ftf and root it if you want a clean as possible ROM, then mod it to your own needs.

Again, members with nearly 500 posts should know where to find the most common files, so telling People you've searched, except for using your eyes as pointed out, then expect a little sarcasm.
I thought I saw somewhere last spring where you could convert to GPE edition, I have been using the search with no success.
I have one with CID-BS_US001, with TWRP recovery, S-off.
trying to pass down to the daughter but she would like stock Google.
If someone could point me to the post I would appreciate it, or if this isn't possible?
Thanks
