[Q] Buzzing from the back - Nexus 7 (2013) Q&A

Hello,
i just recently bought my google nexus 7 and i have one thing to worry about.
When i run some high demanding app like some 3d game or something, i can hear buzzing coming from back of the tablet, its not loud and actually if there is not complete silence you cant even hear it or u have to put your ear very close to the device.
Im just wondering if this is common with nexus 7 or if i should worry and put it to reclamation?
Thanks in advance for any tips and answers

Just addition
the buzzing comes from the top side and it kinda sounds like broken ventilator, but i guess there is no ventilator inside the tablet right?
what is at that place, graphic card?

I get thus from time to time when I charge my tablet. I wouldn't be worried
sent from my nex7

well, its not while charging, first i thought that too coz i first noticed it while charging, but it really always starts when i run some game
and also, i dont know if its only me, but i think its getting worse...

How is the speaker in this device?

I remember the days with my touch. All the hacks and toys I had with it. At the time the phone was awesome, my iPhone killer
One thing that sucked was the speaker.. for one including this phone I can never understand how a video device has the speaker In the rear, but whatever with this phone it works, he touch not so much, it was pretty bad, so I use to hack it so it would amplify the speaker, so much that I busted it 3 times had had to get 3 new phones...
I am not asking about the loudness with this phone, even though I see some apps that increase the volume, I don't need it, but what I'm asking is.... since my touch I am always scared when a video or game plays loud. I am always thinking that the speaker is going to blow... does this speaker hold up? I am more scared about the alarm (stock) as it can go off sometimes for 10 minutes before I wake up LOL.....

I really don't think you'll ever find what you're looking for.
1) When your alarm goes off, get up and turn it off
2) If you're concerned about loud audio killing the speaker, plug in some headphones.
I may be coming across as an ass but I'm seriously not trying to be. You modded and destryed 3 phones before, just accept that you need to change your habits or pay the price for destroying things before their time.
I've never had an issue with the speaker but, except for the alarm, I really don't use it much.
I plug in some pc speakers when im playin music or videos, there are few that dont need batteries or wall plug.

Maybe you didn't understand my post.. I was writing it from my phone and it was my first time..
I blew 3 phone speakers before.. The phone as I said WAS NOT THE EVO, it was the TOUCH..
The speaker on THAT phone sucked..
Again.. With that phone (the Touch) it was very common for the speaker to go bad.
So again, do you hear(no pun) a lot of people breaking their speaker on the EVO?
How is the speaker on the EVO?
You say you plug headphones in while playing a video, is that because youre afraid of blowing the speaker?
I'll give you my non-professional opinion. It's tinny (no that's not a typo). No bass. I could easily see it getting blown if you pump bass heavy songs especiallyif you're using an EQ. That being said, I have used it for music and found it plenty loud

I've used gentle alarm since the phone's release week and have mp3s playing at 80% system volume as my alarms. So far my speaker has had no issues whatsoever. Like wuclan48 says you're probably gonna be ok if you don't use it extensively with heavy bass or at super high volumes.
As for alarms going off for 10 minutes, my mp3 playlist plays at 7, 715, 730 for 10 minutes each assuming i don't turn them off, which i normally don't cuz i'm a lazy bastard that likes to sleep in.
Don't intentionally push the speaker and you will most likely be fine.

[Q] HTC Desire Z: No sound from speaker, media/ringtones/notifications

Just yesterday night I found out that I can't get any sound from my phone. Not even notifications sound work, or those ticky sounds what are heard when you turn ringtone volume up or down to hear the level. I have no idea how they are missing now... I dropped my HTC Desire Z in the water weeks ago and some say there can occur problems a long time after water damage, is this true?
I don't remember dropping my phone lately, but I may have dropped it yesterday by accident, but it was not a big drop. There could be a slight possibility tha the speaker died?
When I plug my earphones in, I get sound normally. This indicates to speaker damage indeed. What do you think? Does warranty cover this? I have no idea what causes this. Task killer maybe?
Sorry for the double post, but just bumping and reporting about this issue. Just tested calling from other phone, and the speaker mode won't work. I hear voice normally from internal speaker. I use Automatic Task Killer and there was "Music" -app in kill list, but it adding it to the white list did not affect in anything... besides plus music nothing else with sound works, without plugging in the headphones of course.
I really don't use ringtones that much, but I would like to show some youtube videos to friend with sound sometimes, or speak with speaker on if my hands are not available... this really sucks. ANY thoughts? What should I do?
The unexpected happened!
Haha, this is unbelievable! My 2 year old daughter got my phone for some reason and as soon as I noticed of course I told her "no! give it back" and as soon as she noticed I noticed she's having the phone, she threw it to the wall! (she was standing on the bed and the phone fell down quite a long way). The back cover fell off and I thought the phone is broken for good... since I had already dropped it to the water couple of months ago as you may know.
Well, shouted at my daughter for what she did. Then picked up the phone and put back the back cover. And guess what? The sounds work! Nothing wrong with them, or the phone! Tested out and everything works like charm! Haha I'm laughing my ass of, miracles sure happen!
If YOU have sound problems, don't start to bash your phone please
can u gimme the winning lottery numbers
pimped out g2
Today I went to swimming and dropped while changing to swimwear dropped my pants down while my phone was in the pocket. At home I noticed the sounds are not working again! So I recalled what happened and dropped my pants again in the same way, and the sounds were back again..
So I guess my phone can't stand any more knocks or drop downs... so I try to be really careful in the future. Thank god there is no touch-problems like in bad earbuds when the wire go bad and the sound comes only from the other one, like that I should always keep the phone in right position sounds to work... that would be nightmare.
Just reporting if you out there possibly have similar problems. It can all be symptomps from dislocated speaker like in my case.
Sound is back ...I'm a hard head
I too had lost sound after dropping ...After reading the warning about no trying to bang it back .............well what can I say , I put on the media with music and tapped it on the counter , NO Luck . Being hard headed I then started to slap it into the palm of my hand with a good snap ...Presto magic sound is back . Do not try this at home kids .

[Q] Spearkers make weird noise when talking over Loudspeaker

First of all, aahhh, good to be back on XDA! Been a long time This place still as cool as before? I sure damn hope so
Ok guys, here is the thing. I have a problem with my Galaxy S3. Whenever I turn on the loudspeakers, there comes this sharp, weird, annoying sound. If I am only listening to the person on the other side, it works fine but when I say something, that cracking, weird sound comes back. It is so loud and so annoying that I almost always have to switch over to the handset speaker. I'd love to be able to use my phone and use the hands free option. It's just more productive this way.
Oh by the way, I haven't rooted my phone as I am OK with the JB updated I received a few months ago.
As always, thanks a lot for your time and consideration

[Q] Noise from display or near usb port?

I just have bought new nexus 7 2 days ago and now i notice that some kind of electrical noise comes out from my new nexus 7
especially when i'm charging it.
So i did some googling and i found this thread
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1998304
this is the exact same problem i have right now
when i set brightness to maximum noise disappears if not then it just doesn't stop coming out
even when i'm not charging it i can barely hear it when i'm in quiet place (obviously i have to stick my ear to its display)
Actually i think this can happen to any kind of electrical devices so i'm never disappointed about google but i kind of do feel bad about this...
but i just wanna see if anyone else has the same or similar problem on our new nexus 7
so... does anyone have similar problem...?
anyway I'm gonna go back to best buy to talk about exchanging stuff tmrw .... lol

[Q] noisy processor? buzz increase with touching screen please help

Hi! I have my nexus 7 2013 wifi about one week ago, i have some small issues with the keyboard but i can get along with it.
What really worries me is that yesterday i noticed it makes a very small noise, just audible if i put my ear next to the device. It is like the sound of a pc proccesor, that increases when i touch the screen and almost dissapear when the screen is off. It doesnt change when its charging or on the table, and umtil now i didnt notice any battery leaks or jumps.
Any ideas of what this could mean? Electrical issues? Can you please verify if your device is making any kind of sound?
Thank you in advance!!
Greetings from chile!!!
do not worry
Do not worry, this is present in all nexus 7 devices. It is something to do with Asus using a crappy speaker part. If you want the full details, Google it or look on here you slowly get used to it. I got my N7 last weekend and I never really notice it anymore. So do not worry
I don't hear anything....
Any other opinion please?

I have also noticed the screen issue a tiny bit but it isn't as bad as people make it out to be.....I had a Nexus 4 in the past so I'm used to the crappy screen sensitivity lol but this device is still amazing and a way better device than my old N7 I guess with time updates will iron out all the kinks.
