Anyone else notice that in the android wear application when you select "Mute Applications"? There is a space for the google fitness application? Is there any place we can download this yet? Or was this a whoops on their end?
In the image it shows "com.google.android.apps.fitness (not installed on this device)". Not sure why it would show this if it isn't installed.

I thought that was still under development?

Is there a way to keep YouTube running music in the background as I'm exploring other apps? Coming from a pre there was a patch for this

Sorry, my bad.
Not used android before, I will also assume there isn't a hombrew/overclocking/patching repository and app like preware?
Also no way to enable flash in the background when flash becomes available?

Seems pretty silly having multi-core processing without the ability to multitask, doesn't it?

You don't know much about Android, do you?
Android does have ability to multitask. It is just an effective multitasking. Applications can be left 'running' without them actually running. They are written in memory and kept there, without taking battery, until they are called back and continue on from where they left off. But Android also allows applications to open services in the background, triggered by specific time or event or by an application, that allows them to work while the application is not in focus. Many music players are done this way. Also a lot of apps synchronize in the background in this manner.
It is entirely the application developers decision to do what is best for the specific application. Android 4.0 gives all the tools the user needs. This is not Windows desktop where every working application and process takes processing power to keep running.
Would be awesome then if someone made a YouTube app that worked in the background

It'll never happen for the same reason that not all videos are viewable on mobile. You're using the service to watch something, not listen.

Not really. There are many people who use youtube for music playlists.

i know a jailbroken iphone has an app for that
iOS supports background audio in the browser and youtube app. I was hoping that ICS will support it.
I leave a few app to a specific page or section that I use a lot open in the recent app. After few min. I click recent app, it will load the app and it will act like it open the app fresh. So the recent app is basically useless. Any idea??
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using xda premium
I think the Recent App is just that - it shows you your recent apps. Where it opens up depends mainly on your memory, whether it released the memory for that app to make space for another app, or still have that app's recent screen/page in memory.
Your app will stay running in the background until Android decides that it needs to free up memory for something else.
Some apps cope better with this - Chrome, for instance, still goes back to the same tab I had open but seems to reload it from cache. Other apps just start afresh.
I'm not sure of any easy way to tell Android to not close a particular app I'm afraid

Might be something like this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=29369439&postcount=4
It can be any program that is not closed properly (eg. running in the background), like Youtube.
Does it also occur when your device is rebooted and NO program is started? (See in the apps listing which apps are running right after resetting)
it is manifested even when the device has just been restarted. I try to freeze youtube and see how it goes?
Does anyone know a program to check if the battery is still working?
Hi. Maybe try to untick conversation tones (notifications) in whatsapp.

Try to use Greenify. That'll stop programmes from restarting.
As has been said that particular wake lock is an app that hasn't closed Properly.
When I get it I terminate apps one by one each time going back to bbs hitting refresh to see if the wakelock has stopped increasing. When it does I know that's the app I need to greenify.

thx for explain.
Last night as I needed the phone fully functional, I 've formatted. I will update if the problem recurs and if I were to do only 3 hours of screen on. If greenefy will install (I have to buy it or even the free version is fine?)
Thank you.

Any time.
I use the free version. It is a very good app. Make sure you delete all sounds within the phone settings as well. Such as tts, keyboard sounds/vibrations etc.

I see this option in screenshots all over the internet, yet it's not in the options in my android wear app. My 360 is on 5.0.1, and my wear app is version 1.0.5.1630507.
Is there a newer wear app version or something? I've restarted my phone, and cleared the cache in the wear app and no joy.
Much better yet though, would be an option to INCREASE THE SCREEN TIMEOUT!!! How is this not an option yet?!?!?!
Come on Google - wake up!!
TIA!
Swipify has an always on option and a brightness slider .... When used with theater mode ...all is good

Thank you!! Well worth the $1.
I tried watch maker, but I couldn't find a nice watch face.
I seriously can't understand why Google hasn't added this feature by now. It's a no-brainer, and wear has been in development how long now?! It's mind bogglingly stupid.

You can import any .face or .watch watch face file to watchmaker

I was just watching a video and noticed the download icon was doing something in the notification area. I swiped down and it said it was installing "Instant Apps" then it went away. I can't find the app in the the drawer and it doesn't show up in the Apps section of settings. I don't have auto update on anything. I googled it and got the info on Google rolling out an app that allows you to use an app inside home without downloading the app but it is really limited. My question, did Google just push this to my phone or do I have some sort of Malware?

I've never heard of it personally.
Thanks, that was it, it was located under settings - Google.
