How's the skin holding up? I keep reading on the site that our Sandstone back cover doesn't do well.
Obviously it looks like it holds pretty well eh?

U have to use a hairdryer or heat gun. They say its hard to put on that's all lol

Ya how's the feeling ? smooth or do you have some grip?

U have some grip i dont find it to slippy to be honest

Dbrand makes really good skins

Nope not at all @lunarken

I've had one for my Nexus 5, they're a great company that provides great skins.
Highly recommended if users are wishing to skin their phone. Plus they're active on XDA.

Yup they are on here alot

no, it's not. but you have to take it slow, specially around the logo.
when pealed, the blue one ripped at the logo, around the "+".

nu fumez. Cel alb e de pe okazii, luat de un prieten. Eu am sandstone luat de pe aliexpress (recomand). si emag are in stoc, cica.
The silk version was skinned cause of tini scratches that were starting to show on the back.
The material is very nice but you get bored and want to try a new look sometimes.

That is VERY cheap/ugly looking. How can you even mention these in the same post as the style swap covers? This is actually comical!

I also have the bamboo dbrand. No hair dryer required. I got the whole thing on in under three minutes. It seems to hold up really well (been about a week).

Its not sure if it feels wood... But atleast it looks wood..thats good..
Just worrying part would be..if you remove the skin..it may leave the sticky marks on the back cover..

I installed the one from repairuniverse and it seems to be OEM in all ways but one. The kickstand does not seem to have the transparent coating that the original did. This is a good thing in my opinion since I spent a lot of time pealing mine off after it started to chip a month after I got the phone. Fitment was great and the rest of the look is OEM as I said before

Nah, that's just the crappy coat on the kickstand coming off. tape off around the kickstand, and take a green scrubby pad to it. a bit of metal polish, and it'll look way better than before.
Not necessarily as cheap, but a bit more established and reputable (ordered quite a few things from them for fixing BBs etc.)

If its the surface chiping off then not chems, mine did it 1st week and I ended up pealing the rest off over time with fingernail.
I recently bought a whole new shell and battery cover for my phone...repairsuniverse is an excellent site, thats where I bought mine and they give you the tools and it looks fantastic

I think that's just a blue protective sticker on the kickstand. Not an actual blue kickstand.

Really simple and nice looking and good grip cover

Tons of those on eBay, search for "one x cover s line". I've ordered 3 different cases, all hard. Don't really like those silicone ones..
I always buy gel cases, the silicone ones are a nightmare for collecting dust and fluff.
I would not have a hard case, as it gives no shock protection when you drop the phone, it does not absorb some of the impact as gel or silicone does.

Just checked it out, and yes it is thick enough to NOT let the camera touch anything when its back is on a desk or whatever.
I have the exact same case on my galaxy nexus. It is pretty good for the price. However, im passing on this one since it doesnt protect the camera part.

Cool, having just traded my S4 for the Moto X last night I'm looking forward to this phone. I usually get more expensive cases and several before I find something I like, and this time I figured I'd try some of the lower-cost alternatives since I like to change things up anyway (I usually buy a 3-pack of screen protectors about once a month, swapping them after a few weeks once they get gunked up). I'm already liking the phone much more than the S4 (For the last month I had ran the S4 with the hardware keys as disabled as possible and enabling the nav bar, just because I wanted some UI consistency between my Nexus 7 and my phone. Anyway I have another cheap case coming from amazon tomorrow so I'll be good until the quicksand ones come. I love the size of this phone naked, but I'm clumsy as all hell and it's very slippery without a case on it.
Bear Motion has these cases for Prime Amazon... I have been using one on my HTC One for a while (green)... just picked up a brown one for my Moto X that i should be receiving today. Great cases! awesome texture, fit, color, thinness, etc.

i like these quicksand ones because they dont have the branding that the other two or three brands have. not to mention they are uber cheap. the two week wait though... make paying double almost worth it. mine finally hit chicago yesterday. so i hope to be receiving mine tomorroe. i soooo hope they dont mess up the plastic around the glass like so many cases are doing.
Agreed, although the branding is subtle I'd much rather have none. But Prime!

Brushed lugs

Well here it is but still unfinished. After getting all these fine lines on the lugs I just decided to give it a brushed look. Only had 220 grit sand paper at the moment just to see how she would look and I think it looks better with brushed lugs. Gonna go over it with 400 or 600 later to smoothen out the lines to make it match the sides better.

Hey guys, I have gotten to attempt this on a Huawei watch, and it ended up pretty nice, There were a few things that I could have improved. I found that using paper tape, the medical one, can be very useful. All you have to do is cover the screen and inner rim with paper tape, along with the back glass. You can also cover up other parts that you don't want to touch. Start at a coarser sandpaper and make your way up, I used a 120 grit I believe and it wasn't too fine. Keep in mind that the finer it is the more scratch prone it is. Repeat process after it scratched up again. If you want you can add some kind of polish, but i'm not sure how that would work out.
That looks really nice! Mine's black or else I'd do that too. I put a plain leather adjustable strap on mine, because the one it came with fit my husband fine, but it's just too clunky for a woman's wrist, IMO.

Slickwraps Honeycomb on my S8+ (PICS)

I didn't want to add a case to my s8+, but the back gets fingerprints very easily and makes it slippery at times. I found that slickwraps has this new design and I think it looks great, check out the pics.
Edit: For some reason it's not listed under the device but you can find it here: https://www.slickwraps.com/honeycomb.html

That looks awesome. I have a Dbrand matte black on its way, but today I saw yours, and the new Dbrand "Black Dragon" pattern and I'm wishing I knew about these before.

Yeah, I saw the dragon skin but didn't really like it. This honeycomb wrap has a nice texture to it and is less slippery compared to the glass back.

I ordered the dragon skin one yesterday. I hope it's as awesome as it looks.

Does it actually have a honeycomb texture?

Is it also on the sides bro? Did you just put it on there or did you made it hot with an hairdryer or so?

Ooh!! Nice! I ordered this skin as well, but in blue! Will definitely post pics when I get mine. Just wondering, as I've never used a skin before, was it hard to apply? I'm just worried about messing it up, lawl. I know there's videos showing the process, but was more wondering if people who do it firsthand, what their thoughts on the matter.
Looks like you can net 42% off ("today only") for 4/20 bringing it to just over $14 for one (not including shipping) using promo code 420

That code STILL works?! XD Pretty funny, since 4/20 was five days ago, but hey, if it still works, definitely jump on it, for anyone wanting to buy this Slickwrap or anything from their site.
lmao yeah the code still works cause I ordered one. Only cause of that code. $17 total after shipping I'll bite. Looks really good.

Same here! XD I wouldn't buy one at full price. Really was intrigued by this wrap, so waited until a sale popped up. Another user mentioned that code on 4/20, so perfect time to jump on it.
sighhh, just put on my dbrand, and must say love the pattern, just bought, 420 discount code still works =D

Yes it does, the lines are slightly raised.

It only covers the back half of the glass only, so right to where the seam is only. It was pretty simple to put on but I did the hair dryer method to help the edges stick better.
I can't find honey comb for s8plus?
Edit I found it thanks
I have a skin on mine too. What I hate, is the feel of the sharp edges of the skin. It's annoying as f.
I have the same wrap on my s8+.
I don't really like it, sorry....

Thought there are methods to get rid of that?

You felt the need to say something negative?? If you don't have something worth while to say, please keep it to yourself. No need to rain on anyone's parade.
