LIGHTSPEED
LightSpeed for the T989 Hercules model by Samsung A.K.A The "Galaxy S2" for T-Mobile. Jelly Bean Base from Samsung, the last update that Samsung gave to the T989.
***DISCLAIMER***
Your device warranty is already void if you have rooted it. I am not responsible for bricked devices, dead SD cards, thermonuclear war, or you getting fired because the alarm app failed. Please do some research if you have any concerns about features included in this ROM before flashing it! YOU are choosing to make these modifications, and if you point the finger at me or anyone else for messing up your device, we will laugh at you. Collectively, and at the same time.
Intro:
This project uses the T-989 4.1.2 T-Mobile Jelly Bean final update as a base. The project's purpose is to offer extra functions and better looks over stock while maintaining maximum stability, speed and battery life.
Also Aesthetics have been considered and vastly improved over stock.
Summary: going for it all here, aesthetics, speed, extra functions, updated apps and an improved look and 'feel'.
***See /settings/about device for change-log and credits for guides and kernel info
**this ROm is void of the Water drop noises that came in stock ROMs. most if not all sounds have been changed to a nexus 4 sound. bye bye water drop not in dialer either should be all gone so let me know if you find one just record what you were doing at the time and Ill see if I can remove it.
*NEW invisible power/reboot button on top left corner of status bar, custom battery icons

Menu hold to kill app, google launcher, 20Toggles mod reboot mod vol-wake mod themed orange and black, invisible power/reboot button on top left corner, custom battery icons centered clock screenshot on status bar mod custom colored >settings ON OFF mod,,, it has nice look, my favorite so far. Enjoy
I need someone to confirm that WiFi calling and Messaging over WiFi work. I would think they do but would be good to know.
kernel sources found here SMOOTH_KERNEL https://github.com/hallovveen31
power button on statusbar is now invisible and out of the way, yet there and able to be used... with a tap on upper left corner of screen your device will go sleep or hold your virtual power button and a four way reboot menu will appear.

changelog
Version 4 added new busybox file.
Did some work in settings under data usage, made blue graph lines orange.
Changed colors of /settings/storage ie device memory
Added adfree and a new hosts file, so no adds, forever =]
updated a few apps in the data/app folder.
Flash with TWRP 2.5 2.6 or whatever recovery works best that you know =]
should probably wipe everything for best results and then Install or ''flash'' your drive with the Zip found on Sourceforge.
reboot.
set your kernel speed and governors
the kernel is stock but overclockable and with Interactive gov a possible choice samsung didnt enable this gov for whatever reason yet all the code for it is stock. Enjoy
First!
nice to see some love for the GS2 still, spending most of my time over in the GS4 threads these days but my GS2 is still my fallback device!
Time to revive the old beast. I' ll see if I can download it today and I will report about the wifi calling and texting... thanks.
Currently on Shadow Extr3m3, best stable ROM with zero issues. Looking forward to Lightspeed. Thank you for your hard work.

was looking out for a new 4.1.2 rom, much appreciated, is this an upgrade from you shadow_extrem3 rom?
is a full wipe required coming from SHADOW_EXTREM3_SMOOTHKERNEL?

my pleasure =] .,. no you don't have to wipe data if coming from shadow. But don't restore system data with titanium backup. And if anything is wonky then do perform data wipe. But DO wipe /system and /preload and both /caches. As far as is this An upgrade from shadow,?, Well it's a different look that I like ... Black, orange and white.....
The come back, lol.
Still rocking the htc?
I got an S5 and sure would like some tw custom ROMs like this bad boys you put out.
Nice to see another of your ROMs out here anyways.

I have a few questions hope you can answer.
1. Does this ROM includes a custom kernel that replaces the existing one?
2. Can I use CWM to create a nandroid of existing kernel and ROM before flashing? I read elsewhere that CWM does not backup or restore the kernel.
3. What can I use to backup the kernel if CWM does not?

Install Method: (Recovery)
1) Reboot into recovery. (volume upu + power and keep holding until you see clockworkmod menu)
2) Make a nandbackup.
3) Wipe cache/dalvik. (rom will do this for you)
4) Flash Rom.
5) Reboot and enjoy.

damn you are hauling ass on this ROM. updating right now.
Looking pretty good man, am downloading now, thanks! Quick Q, is this a continuation of your other thread or will you be supporting both?
Can u flash v3.2 over v3.1? Or would u advise to wipe first?

I was referring to the WiFi/Bluetooth/GPS/Sound/4g toggles we get in the pulldown.
It would be nice if we could change them and add our own, as well as be able to rearrange the whole thing. Something similar to this.. which I realize is Sense based but perhaps it could be ported over? Or maybe it would be easier to port them over from CyanogenMod itself since they are already working on a version for our phone, from what I hear.
oh ok I see, no I won't be doing any mods like that, that would probably take a lot of time and quite honestly I don't know if I could do that, I'm sure someone will release a mod to flash to do it or something, I just don't have the knowledge to do it and I can openly admit it plus I don't want my rom looking like cm

No worries. Maybe an option for screen orientation in the advanced power menu then? In addition to Reboot and Recovery.
It's kinda annoying having to go to display settings every time I want to toggle it on/off (I only use it when browsing websites, webcomics, and such).

Agreed that is on my list of things to get done
Flashed v3.1 yesterday and since then my battery has been on a serious drain. I went to sleep with 97% battery and woke up with 50% (with wifi, bluetooth, gps all turned off). Would reflashing this rom or switching to v3.2 help me out?
---------- Post added at 07:27 AM ---------- Previous post was at 07:21 AM ----------
Please don't freak out on me but this rom or kernel is causing me to get no signal sometimes. I have to restart to get a signal to return
Had your 3.1 version and i loved it except i couldnt overclock with it. If that could somehow be changed i will run that permently! Love the themeing and thanks for your hard work

Are there any other changes between 3.1 and 3.2 besides the scroll?
Just flashed this before I leave for work and put Zedo's v3 kernel on top of it. Looking forward to putting AEMod through my daily routine to see how it holds up.
Thanks for the effort on this!
Flashed this and running the kernel that's packaged with it? I'll report back later today. Thank you for the rom.

Factory Reset?
Flashed your ROM just fine, everything looks fine, but I have a habit of resetting factory defaults after flashing a new ROM (WM6 woes) to make sure the rom and settings are as fresh as possible.
I noticed when I go into settings to do a factory restore, it would restore the original Sprint boot screen and then just hang there. Was wondering if this is normal for all Android roms or this one in particular?
Would it be possible to get a list of known bugs or things not working in the OP? This is pretty standard across most roms. Or.... is the rom already bug free?

I don't know what would be causing 3.1 to drain battery any faster than any other version as nothing has been changed to cause any issues like that, you might be experiencing android os bug that I guess is out that uses a crap load of battery for no reason, you could try a full system wipe then reflashing, I was noticing android os using a crap load of my battery so I just wiped everything and reflashed.
Hello !
After nearly 18 months using various roms made by various brilliant people i have learnt allot, and today i have spent all day making my own rom and i am proud to share it with everyone.
I have tested on my phone and there are no issues, atleast no issues i can fix...
The History of this ROM dates back to the dev AdamG, I believe this ROM was once the "OxyGen" ROM which I was a fan of and used on the HTC Desire I once used to own, so this ROM is kinda nostalgic for me LOL

Tytungs GPS Libs 2.1 NMEA
Warrens Awesome Desire 2.6.35 Kernel.
ROBOTO Fonts !.
Old Hacked Market (Just means it wont self update and can see all apps).
Dorimanx's Awesome Memory tweaks, these tweaks allow for more apps to run all the time in memory and the Net effect is... more of that ram gets used instead of wasted.
And the usual..
De-odexed
Zipaligned
Rooted
BusyBox
A2SD+
Cache2SD
Nano Text Editor Support
Bash Shell Support
Huge APN List
Init.d Support
Android 2.3.4
Screen DPI 192
Very Slim - <100 100 MB, you could infact use a 10/100/5 or 5/100/5 partition layout
I will now explain the philosophy of the rom.
Its about keeping Android just... Android and nothing else. Let the user choose how to use the phone, Android is all about customising and choosing how we want to use the phone, so removing every single app that can be replaced or installed from market is just the first step.
Under the hood, this rom has all the goodies you come to expect from modern HD2 Roms, It has the tweaks but it is kept conservative, STABILITY is the primary focus, this rom is still franticly fast but any tweak or any setting that subtracts from stability is out the window.
Before posting this rom i have used the 2.6.35 kernel for two weeks using AOSP android and i can say without a doubt it is stabil, the only thing is its not 100% finished thus the camera and bluetooth issues, but at least the camera can be replaced.
Issues
Kernel Has Camera Issues, so stock camera app is no good, please install the free app called "Camera Fun" and you can take pictures again. The App has different modes, select Normal for Normal pics.
Bluetooth may or may not work for your device.
Install Instructions
First of all, use the attached 4EXT recovery and make sure your sd-ext is using EXT4, it helps with data loss prevention and speed.
Next, after booting up the first time the market is not visible in the app list until you add a google account.
First thing you need to install is "SuperUser" true to the philosophy it is not included in the system apps
After its installed root will work perfectly, and update the SU binary when you get a chance.
Please update the adfree hosts with adfree app or after the rom has been running for a few hours you will get major battery drain, the old adfree host file blocks google analytics, it keeps trying over and over and thus the battery drain.
Enjoy !

Oh sorry when my op got half deleted i forgot to put that back.
Its actually the kernel it has camera issue.
Please install the application free called camera fun but there is no camcorder support in kernel yet.
I'm going to make a dorimanx kernel pack for users to help out.
And I'll also attach the camera apk.
Ok, edited the cwm zip so it has the right file-name for modules and removed its libaudio.so since when I have changed it myself the ROM wont boot.
Try it and let me know how it goes.
Another thing, do a backup before you flash the kernel...

Purpose
Infamous Resurrection is a ROM that uses the original Infamous T989 ROM as a base. This gives the developer of the original Infamous T989 ROM, Jamison904, the luxury to have a life, and take care of his family. Therefore, this ROM does not deviate all that much from the design of the original work.
If anyone tells you that developing a ROM is easy work, I can tell you first hand that they are wrong. I have spent many days and nights with no sleep to make this a reality.
Donations are welcome.

BEST FEATURE OF ALL, NO B.S., NO TRICKS, NO PLACEBO EFFECT, JUST A STABLE STOCK REPLACEMENT AND DAILY DRIVER No Bravia Engine because it is apparently a scam ! ! !
The Bravia Engine is a technology used by Sony on its LCDs. We are using Freaking SuperAmoled+ Here ! ! !
Some ROMS that I have seen which claim to have the "Bravia Engine" have very grainy camera quality for some odd reason.
Furthermore, as far as I know the Bravia Engine simply estimates what would be in between frames are on higher refresh displays and spits out an image thats not originally meant to be there in between images that are supposed to be there to give the impression of smoother video.
So it is not meant to improve photographic picture quality of the camera and Not to improve ??? Sound ??? as some people claim.
Additionally this estimated image can be completely unwelcome and cause strange artifacts according to home theater professionals whose documentation I have read.
Instructions:
1. Do a NAND backup
2. Do a clean system wipe using your preferred With TWRP or if still on CWM use TDJ's Darkside SuperWipe
3. Install ROM using the latest TWRP (Recomended) or non-touch CWM recovery.
4. After the ROM has booted, let settle for a minimum of five minutes (Don't touch the phone for at least five minutes.)
5. Reboot the phone
6. If phone does not restart within 2 and a half minutes, power phone off by holding down the power button and restart phone into TWRP Recovery. Then do a cache Wipe, or if your still using CWM use preferred cache wipe method (Darkside Cache wipe. Tested and recommended for this Thanks TDJ for all of your help.)

But it is a nice 4.0.4 ROM that is fully functioning. The reason it takes so long to release our ROMs is because we don't release garbage. Our ROMs are not meant for ROM hoppers to get excitet about for a second and move on, they are made to enhance your device for daily use.

Notes (easy to fix problems):
The default icon layout and widget layout was not set up. You will have to put icons in the places you like yourself.
You will get problem loading widget on TouchWiz where TouchWiz thinks a widget should be. Simply remove empty widget from home screen to Fix.
Trebuchet will try to load the Nexus messenger app which is not available. Fix by deleting the Nexus Messager app icon form the Trebuchet home screen and dragging the Samsung TouchWiz Messenger app in its place to fix.
Some SGS3 widgets are not included, so if you try to add them they will not load. Fix by downloading and installing the widgets you want.

Might be a dumb question but if coming from 2.9.1 is a full wipe necessary?
from my infamous sgh-t989
Great question
It should not be, try it, but make a nand backup first. Also if you have issues, do a cache wipe before you give up and do a full wipe.

"no activity capable of opening this file was found"
After flashing this ROM, I cannot install apps from my phone. I can, however, install them from the Play Store. The error message I get when trying to install locally reads: "no activity capable of opening this file was found"
Googling both XDA and the web generally did not yield an answer.
Any thoughts?
Do you have "Unknown Sources" checked in Settings>Security?
Might be a bad flash too. i didn't seem to have those problems on V1 and now that I am testing V2, I still don't.

Yes, Indeed, my first thought was that "Unknown Sources" might be unchecked. Even though it was checked, I unchecked and rechecked it. Installing locally still fails.
I reflashed, also without success.
Before I restore my nandroid backup, does anyone have another suggestion?
And if I try this ROM again, should I stick with V1 or go on to V2?

SuperStock Custom Rom v1.0
===============================
SuperStock Custom rom v1.0 is based on the Samsung Galaxy
Note 4 N910T 4.4.4 NK4 Touchwiz Kitkat firmware.
This has to be one of the fastest, smoothest and most reliable custom roms you will find
around here in this forum.
_____________________________________________________________________
For best results please be sure to do a full and "complete" wipe before flashing.
If you don't, please blame yourself for any issues you might have like bootloops,
fc's and getting stuck on the boot up screen if you do a dirty flash.
... Notice ...
If you want the optimum smoothness, performance, speed, reliability and
the very best compatibility then odin flash the full N910T NK4
official stock firmware before flashing this or any other rom. (trust me)
a The official odin flash firmware can be found at: http://SamMobile.com
If you already odin flashed the official stock NK4 firmware
successfully then please disregard this notice.

Welcome everyone to my new ROM thread!
Here in my thread everyone is welcome to post other rom names, links and any other
useful or helpful information about any roms.
I don't get insulted, upset or jealous about users who post info. about other developer's
roms, mod's or themes in fact I welcome it. LOL
Also in this thread no one will be picked on or bashed for asking about future updates.
Just use your good judgment when you post and try not to break too many
of xda's terms of service, rules and agreements.
Looks great. Tell me more, please, about the 4G/LTE and wifi calling issues that you fixed. I've had to disable wifi calling due to frequent drops.

Generally speaking people having issues with wifi calling with dropped calls either have a rom
or kernel misbehaving or the wifi signal is not as good as it should be for various reasons.
Even things like the atmoshere can effect it if the signal is not strong enough to overcome it.
Personally I have no wifi calling issues myself.
Have a great day!

That's for sure, I gave up trying to find a better name for it using google a long time ago. LOL
Weird, I clean flashed, wiped data, cache, dalvik cache, and system (yes I'm on the stock NK4 firmware) and it started bootloping, then flashed the rom and got stuck in a bootloop.
I'll try and flash a kernel separately maybe that'll help. Just an FYI.

Is your phone a N910T Tmobile?
Besides flashing did you do a factory reset?
A factory reset is just as important as wiping.
(at least that's what I do)
