Just wanted share this info.
Checkout the XIAOMI 2nd Piston Earphone from following link. I bought this earphone and I must say
> Overall earphone build quality is good. H/w keys works with OPO.
> Packaging looks great.
> Awesome Sound quality with Bass effect.
http://www.aliexpress.com/snapshot/6178421277.html
They're great headphones, I have a pair of my own. But personally, I would not purchase from aliexpress since some people have received fake Pistons from there but then some have received legit ones from them too. Just be cautious.
Purchase from reliable sellers from http://www.amazon.com/Original-Xiao...d=1410961744&sr=8-1&keywords=Xiaomi+Pistons+2 which is shipped directly from the U.S., so you won't have to wait as long. Plus its even better if u have Amazon Prime.
Be very wary on making sure its not a counterfeit.
I agree on that. I myself got some replica ones from aliexpress. Which was pretty awfull so Amazon is highly recommended.
There's a BIG thread on the Nexus 5 forum about these and where to buy them from, seems they're quite good too!
http://forum.xda-developers.com/goo...view-xiaomi-piston-v2-1-compatabilty-t2868648
And a lot of reviews on http://www.head-fi.org/products/xiaomi-pistons-2-0-mk301 for those who want to know more.
Great pair of headsets, buttons work great on the OPO, amazingly cheap, amazingly good quality out of the box (using Viper or AudioFX makes it even better)
Just good these in on Monday. I do own a couple of headphones as I worked in a recording studio and these are really really good. Especially for the price.
I ordered them from eforchina and they are the real deal. Along with the Xiaomi power bank, which is another fantastic thing, these make travelling a lot more enjoyable.

I had this problem but then it went away. Not sure how I fixed it.. never came back afterwards.
Using Poweramp.
I want to get them ASAP in Canada, but according to Canadains on RedFlagDeals, it's taking up to 6 weeks for it to ship from pandawill.

I don't know what Rom you're using, but I had this problem when I was using CM11 09/11 nightly.
Updated to 09/15 and problem was solved. I'm now on 09/18 nightly and it works fine.
Thnx using DroidKang and dev ditched... Now looking for new rom.

This has nothing to do with this thread? Use crDroid if you like DroidKang. DroidKang was a kang from crDroid.
Although my Piston sounded great in PA with Viper, they sound spectacular on CM11S with AudioFX. Though I read somewhere AudioFX works directly with the DAC hardware to produced higher quality sounds. And I love the preset EQ curves.

For those who've been looking for a pair of great of IEMs with android compatable inline controls, the S4a's are out. Happened to come across them at Futureshop today so it was a pleasant surprise, although I'm still iffy about the 120CAD I put towards them. Once they have about 100+ hours of burn in I'll decide if I'll keep 'em for a few reasons.
The box includes the usual multiple sized tips and the earbuds themselves, but they also come with a clip to use to attach the mic/control onto clothing and a nice sized carrying case.
According to Kilpsch themselves, they have incredible functionality with their customized app, which I'll be looking into it over the next few weeks.

Sure.
Just from toying around with them thus far I've come across a couple things that irritate me personally to do with the controls, but I might be able to find workarounds for these little hassles.
Hey guys also there is a klipsch app for these headphones so you can customize the button function

I got them from Futureshop up here in Canada for 120CAD.
Quick first impression:
I expected that you could only customize the three functions (single, double, and triple click) and speed of clicking. That's certainly the case. Their volume control is non-customizable and very finicky, and the speed to control the button timing isn't all too great either. Otherwise it does what it says it does, just not every function at once of course.
I won't go into their sound as there are hundreds of reviews of the S4's sound online, and the only difference with these to the usual S4 is the addition of a button.
the app works for me too no problems
Sent from my GT-I9100 using XDA App
Old thread by now, but I'm thinking of picking these up for my S2.
I'm sure the sound and stuff is great from the sound of other online reviews, but what I'm worried about is the durability of the cord.
How has your cords been?
And if you could, give a little description of how you've been using them.
Thanks

Its terrible. I hate my S-10 HD's. They sound terrible with terrible bass and they are very uncomfortable. The S-9 HD's were much much better imo. The sound quality was better and it was slightly more comfortable. They both take a lot of getting used to. Idk why Motorola would make a product that is worse than the one before it.
Are the freedom jaybird headphones good? I think I will buy that next time. Motorola is falling off man. I hope Google helps them see the light.

They work just fine with the Nexus. The main reason I picked these up was the sweat-proof guaranty. I read some reviews for other headsets saying that they would crap out after a couple of uses while doing any type of exercise. The two issue I see with these is the left ear sounds a little louder than the right, the other is that when the battery is low, you get a warning every 30 seconds. The warning doesn't come untill the battery is really about to die.

My opinion is to purchase this:
Jabra Clipper
I purchased a couple of bluetooth headsets but they never really compared to the options you get with regular headsets. This options, you don't have to choose. I use it while running/working out and provide a great compromise.
If you're a runner or sweat heavily then I would recommend against any bluetooth headphones that go into your ear. I have had 3 S9's go out on me and I heard the issue is not fixed in the S10's either. I had looked for other options but most of what I read lead down the same road. If you sweat a lot then these BT headphones will short out.
The best option for me was either the jabra clipper or the sony ericcson mw600. I went with the Mw600 which allows me to use my own headphones and obviously even if i sweat on those it won't short out the bluetooth device since it's no where near my ears.
So... I got my note yesterday.. Updated to 4.0.3 rooted it etc...
Just listening to some music on the walk to work... I must say the supplied white hands free headphones are surprisingly good, any one else agree?

I use pretty high end etymotic and klipsch in-ear-monitors, and once you try those, you can't go back to cheap earphones. Everyone's different though.
Ive always liked Samsung stock headphones. I like the way they fit in my ear, I know they are not as good as some expensive ones but combined with voodoo sound and a nice equalizer they're pretty impressive.
That being said, I use my beats headphones all the time now, They where free with my HTC.
The Stock one is good. But I also have the free sennheiser px100ii with galaxy note.Feels like heaven while listening music with it .

Does any one know of superior sounding ear buds that also include a Note compatible volume control and button? Most of the higher end models are designed for IOS devices and the controls don't work with the Note.
Sent from my GT-N7000 using xda premium
i also think the stock earphones are pretty good. but for extreme music lovers i think there are much better alternatives
Sent from my GT-N7000 using xda app-developers app
To be honest i've found the stock headphones fine until I flashed a new ROM with Beats Audio installed. Just can handle the bass now.
They are not bad for the price which is free. I also have a pair of klipsch android version which for the price are amazing, I also have a pair of beats tour which are ok a bit to much base but sounds good with awesome beats equalizer. Now my go to head set is the Bowers & Wilkins p5's they are simply amazing.
The stock Note headphones are on the cheap side and that shows on the audio quality. I use some old in-ear dual drive Panasonic headphones and the difference is huge. The next step for me is the Martin Logan Mikros 70.
not sure...till now its still in the box.
i think their the normal ones samsung supplies cos i got similar ones with my gs2 also
They are o.k for a standard set. - But the quality of the earphones are not as good as in the past. Still have a couple of earphones from my samsung omnia, and they go much louder than these delivered with the note.
But if you want to use them for high end music they are quite rubbish I think
After some good usage out of them I've realised they're not as great as I originally made out... Still good for free and will be ample until I can get a decent set.

The Klipsch S4-II is basically the upgraded version of the original S4. The S4-II features a flatter, tangle resistant cable, and has a slightly better appearance over the original S4. However, in terms of sound and audio quality, they are completely identical. The S4 is around 30$, while the S4-II is around 70-80$, so unless you really care that much about the wire getting tangled up when you put your headphones away, I would strongly recommend just getting the original S4's. I've owned both of these, so I'm speaking from personal experience Good luck! :good::good:

So I got my headset now and I gotta say it has a pretty nice sound, but there is one thing that really bothers me and I haven't read anything about it before I bought it and that is that you can't use the long press on the headset to adjust the sound???? Seriously? Everytime I long press the button freaking Google voice search starts. Is there any workaround yet or to be expected? I think this is really annoying.
Did you install the klipsch app?

Bluetooth ones will more than likely have all controls (volume and answer buttons) working. I strongly recommend the Apple Earpods though if you care about the microphone. I have tried many highly praised wired/BT headsets and none of them have usable mics on the N5.
http://www.amazon.co.uk/CredDeal-X-Series-Foldable-Bluetooth-Headphones/dp/B00CQ2W20Q
Currently using these Bluetooth 4.0 Headphones with volume adjust buttons, mic, and a power button. Relatively simple. One piece of wire that connects the two pair of headphones and a small battery in the two earbuds that can play about 4-5 hours of music streaming over Bluetooth. I usually work out with these, so I had to get a pair of Bluetooth headphones that are light! So I can testify to their quality! Sound is solid as well, the sound is fairly close to my Klipsch S4 (II) earbuds. Headphones? Meh, I never buy bluetooth for those haha.

Yeah, I'm not an "audiophile" (I really, REALLY hate that word) but I am an audio enthusiast (been in the audio industry for 15+ years), and I gotta recommend staying away from anything Monster or Beats branded. You are paying 10% for the headphone, 90% for the brand, and they generally sound like crap.
You want good buds for a good price, go with Yuin. IEMs- Shure or Westone. Cans- Sony, Beyerdynamic, higher end Sennheiser (their low end is crap), Grado, some AKG, HiFiMan, certain V-Modas. Portable supra aurals- Ultrasone has some good ones and the Koss Porta Pro's are pretty much unparalleled for their price and I'm pretty sure that they have ones with mics and controls now.
Bottom line, if they are mainstream and all your friends say to buy them, don't. The best values can be found in brands that don't spend millions on advertising.
