I've found that the quality of the pictures that are displayed on my Moto for incoming calls or texts is pretty poor - very pixelated and blurry. The pictures look fine on my phone when the phone rings - Anyone know of any way to fix this or some setting I could have wrong?
Thanks!

I second this question. Although it seems like I see a clear one every so often.
Having the same issue. Seems like a similar issue with early Android builds where contact photos showed up blurry when receiving calls. It's a bit annoying.

Yeah, whats the point of having this high tech watch if it doesn't do simple things like show contact pictures clear. Its clear on my phone....
For some reason it's pulling a tiny version of the contact icon (not sure why).
Using the beta version of WhatsApp uses the clear HD pics for WhatsApp, hangouts and phone calls on my lg g watch... Can someone please test it on the moto 360, as I would be getting one next week if it fixes the blurry images.
https://www.dropbox.com/s/spbyhzlf7e3vbd1/WhatsApp.apk?dl=0
Thnx
Anyone have a link to report these bugs to Google or moto?
Yeah this was an issue on my G watch as well as now on the 360... hopefullly they fix it soon, sort of something that you'd think would be so easy to get right the first time...
It's definitely on a per app basis. If you share a calendar with anyone, notice how crystal clear their picture is for notifications? And as stated before, emails and hangouts look terrible. So 50% of the problem is that Google needs to update their own apps, and then the other devs need to. I also use Swarm a lot, and I try to dismiss those notifications as quickly as possible because they're so ugly!
I know this is an old thread but...has anyone found a fix for this?

Ok I'm having an issue where in Messenger, my watch does not vibrate whenever I receive a FB Msgr Notification. I actually have to turn on my watch to even know I got a reply. Another I have is that it does not show me the Messenger thread like it does in Hangouts nor the quick reply menu, I know the only work around I have for the missing vibration is to turn off Chat Heads on the phone. has anyone been having these issues?
I have a newly updated Moto 360 4.4W.1 and Stock Android on a Nexus 5.
I can't tell you. When I first got the 360 it seemed to work fine. I had to turn off messenger as I was getting 50 or so messages an hour. Really annoying on the watch and definitely caused battery life to take a hit.
I have the same issue. I think it has something to do with the chat heads. I turned them off, and now waiting for a responce. to see if that is the issue.

confirmed, if I turn off Chat heads, it works fine. but that sucks cause I want chat heads!
It has been a month since I got the PD.
Some brief thoughts based upon my experience with the phone.
I was an Apple user since they launched the iPhone in 2007. Nothing to do with the perpetual Apple vs. Android debate, just iOS suited my purposes, that's all.
I was using the HTC 10/BB DTEK50/Priv for a while, as a second phone.
I got fairly used to the operating system and to be honest, they are all very similar. But carrying 2, sometimes 3 phones was becoming a right pain, so looked for a good dual sim phone that would run two What's app accounts simultaneously.
Enter the PD. Easily love at first sight. I said this was my "jumping off point".
Wasn't very easy to get hold of, where I live, so had to wait almost a month and PAID-A-LOT-!! LOL
What a truly beautiful phone. I have used every Apple phone ever made, every BB phone made, 2 Vertu's (UGHH), and hand on my heart can say, I still cannot stop looking at it.
I had a major issue after setting it up, which is discussed in another thread.
I had no home screen icons or apps visible, only a blank screen that allowed calls and messages to come through in the status bar, could enter settings, but that was it.
The eventual solution, after almost suffering a heart attack, was to load both sims in, and then ejecting the sim tray. The apps just popped up instantly. Very strange, indeed.
After that, everything has been super easy.
-Stellar Battery (and I am a heavy user)
-2 whatsapp accounts running - awesome.
-What a lovely screen!
-No complaints with the camera. I like it. Even the slightly synthetic "Leica" look in the Wide Aperture Mode.
-The Fingerprint sensor is absolutely instant.
-EMUI is easy and nice to navigate
-The ability to edit the quick launch(?) icons in the pull down menu is excellent.
Now the bits that are bugging me.
1) No firmware updates. The last one was, I believe, in December, and I still am on B138. This is something that Huawei needs to look into post haste. I have written to them 5 times, till today. No response whatsoever.
2) Notifications - this is the elephant in the room. They are random at best.
All the Settings - Unlimited data Access, Battery Optimizations, Battery Ignore Whitelists, Priority Notifications, etc. are all on, as is oft discussed, and checked, but whatsapp and emails sometimes still do not give me a notification, until I open the app. This IS an issue for me. I am missing time constrained messages all the time. If anyone has a fix or solution for this, I will be very grateful.
3) Keyboard, Sometimes, the keyboard will freeze if the screen sleeps whilst the keyboard is open in an app, and I reopen it.
I have to collapse the keyboard and bring it up again. Not a huge deal, but an annoyance, none the less. Maybe a GBoard thing?
4) Screen Auto Brightness - Takes an age to organize itself. In the dark, it will blind you, before thinking to itself, that it is, indeed, night, and the screen should be a wee bit less bright. The exact opposite in the day - Very dim and then will eventually get off its backside and decide to brighten up the screen. Very annoying.
5) How do I change the name of my phone. It's not the Bluetooth and Wifi name. My car still picks it up as Huawei LON-L29, as do apps like Photosync and whilst connecting to my Mac.
6) Photos. Now this may not be a PD Specific issue, but when I transferred my 22,000 images across, they all came as a big jumbled mess. No date-wise organization. So looking for specific images, is well, impossible.
7) Music - No equalizer settings in the stock music app. For my specific purposes, unusable, because in my car's bluetooth radio, the bass is overwhelming.
So, apart from these minor points (and 1 big one), I love the phone. I wonder how they could possibly improve it...Firmware, Huawei! Firmware!
For photos delete the cache. That'll sort the jumbled up mess.
For Music Player Google removed the EQ option a few months ago, I hate Play Music now. I use Captune. It has its shortcomings but its the best EQ.
Keyboard - I use Swift with no problems.
My worst issues are the crappy screen protector (GG3) and the lack up updates. I'll be selling it shortly.
I'm enjoying my phone, the only gripe I have with it is the UPDATES.
As for keyboards Try downloading Blackberry Keyboard or Google Keyboard.
Thank you for your suggestions, guys.
I tried clearing the cache, but no joy there. I tried an app called Quickpic, that is apparently supposed to deal with this. Didn't help either.
I was wondering, even if I had to reimport all my image and video files, is there any way they could be sorted by date taken?
This is turning out to be as big of an issue as the notification one, as I depend on images and videos, to send and discuss with my clients. And needless to say, I can't find anything. So am relegated to carrying an iPhone 6s+ just for my media, so I can send the required files via email or WhatsApp. Really, Not an ideal situation.
I will try the BB Keyboard.
Regarding the packaged screen protector, agreed, it is appalling. Before I buy the 2.5/3D tempered glass screen protector, has anyone had any experience with it?
Bonerp, Captune works for me, Thank you.
Have any of you'll worked around the notification bug?
For example, WhatsApp notifications sometimes do not wake the screen, but when a second or third WhatsApp message comes through, it may wake...Or not.
Seriously, if this is such a widely publicized bug, why is Huawei not looking into this?

I tried a curved tempered glass protector and it was awful so binned it. It had tape on the edges and just didn't look good and lost sensitivity.
Have you tried clearing cache at the boot screen or from settings/storage? Might help with the notification bug.
I've sent Huawei several things to fix and just had a 'thank you' response and nothing more. I'm not aware of a notification bug though. I definitely had one on the mate 9 until the first pre release fix was received, but not on this one.
Only other thing I can suggest re pics is delete data, or delete google account, delete cache then add your account again.
How do you guys work around the copy-paste thing?
I mean to having to bring out a paper and pen for copying an email address, phone number, passage from a message or an email is just unacceptable, when this is a widely utilized convenience on other platforms and, I believe, some Android UI's too?
I have tried a few apps that claim they can do this, but no joy.
Also, sharing contacts from the contacts app, only allows vcard, text message and attach to email, no What'sApp, Outlook or any app, for that matter. Can this option be changed somewhere?
quick question
I am looking to get the mate 9 pro; which is the same phone as the PD, just without the fancy branding..
Are any of you on Tmobile in the USA, and, do you get 4G/LTE?
The reseller I have been emailing with on Amazon says you do NOT get 4GLTE on Tmobile in the USA with this phone, but I have read that you do.
Thanks if you can help with this! :good::good:
So I was quick to jump on the Android beta O as I was on the N rollout. I should have known there would be issues from when I was on the N beta but nevertheless I couldnt resist.
So far my issues are few but frustrating.
1. Anytime I get a call when the phone is locked it does not wake up the phone. I have to unlock the phone and click answer. Even after doing that theres still a notification that theres a call that I can either decline or answer even after Im already talking to the person. On the same issue, the proximity sensor doesnt work in the fact that when Im on the call the screen is still active and my cheek activates apps and whatnot. When on the call I cannot get to the actual phone app in order to change to speakerphone.
2. This might be silly but when using snapchat there is a significant lag and black screens between clicking on a story and it actually starting. Also in same app, when I try to take a horizontal photo it gets hung up and I have to close the app and take the photo vertically.
3. I dont know if its because Im using a launcher, but I dont get any notification dots on any of my apps. Maybe I have to be using pixel launcher in order for this to activate. Also, maybe I have to disable number notifications in the launcher for the O notifications to take over.
Those are the most noticeable so far but I figured Id get a thread going.
I keep getting Settings FC every now and then reboot doesn't fix it. Sometimes the FC disappears and settings works fine then it comes back again not sure what's causing it

Apparently pip only works with YouTube red or Google duo, neither of which I have to try. I did get another update about 5 hours after the initial update. It was much smaller than the first download.

I have both and it still does not work I also received the update
PIP does work in YouTube red for me just not duo. After the beta update yesterday my phones alot snappier. Still significant lag in Snapchat. Also Bluetooth audio does not work when playing music, only works with calls.
For PiP to work I followed this thread
https://www.xda-developers.com/enable-android-o-picture-in-picture-mode/
I don't have YouTube red but it works for me perfectly now. also Bluetooth has been working for me with my jaybird X3. so it might be some devices.

To get P.I.P I had to flash factory image instead of take OTA update. I have YouTube red so the background play can be a little funky with PIP.
Does anyone else have Google Play Music keep showing up in the notification bar? It just keeps popping up randomly. It doesn't start playing music, it just pops up there. I'll clear the panel and it shows up in a few minutes again.

Go to settings > apps & notifications > app info > phone > storage
clear data, and for good measure, clear cache.
Had exact same issue, this fixed it right away.

Yep keeps doing it for me too. Kind of annoying but whatever.
How about the launcher? I don't have the new one. Anyone else? I took the OTA. Maybe I should flash it?

Yeah. Also force closes after a reboot. Widget doesn't work either.
For me, Android Pay stopped working. Says that the phone is rooted, but it is not. Also some apps lag and battery life seems worse. I was thinking of opting out, but it will wipe out all user data, so I decided not to. Too lazy to restore everything back.
Anybody notice the radio signal is worse? Tried flashing older radios and modems. It got a little better but not as good as nougat.

Its going to be different for everyone. I was just curious. I get average 90 on nougat and 110-115 on O
I've noticed that there are several apps that have newer version available, but won't update or install. You tube, Google App (beta), Calendar (stock), Maps & Transit (beta) won't install when downloaded from APK Mirror, nor are they being updated via the Play Store. They all work fine though, so it's not a big deal. I'm just wondering if anyone else has encountered the same or similar behavior.
hi people, i'm new in the game, plus i switched from an old iphone directly to capricorn, and i really like it. running lineage 15.1 20810326-nightly-capricorn. however i am experiencing a few bugs:
- while it initially worked like a charm, f-droid has been causing my phone to freeze and subsequently restart itself. this happens everytime i tap the f-droid app logo.
- am having video playback issues in whatsapp as well as newpipe. no sound and after the first half or so second, the video switches to a sort of ultra slomo with the individual pictures of the video coming up one after another. no problem on the youtube website.
- where can i turn off the notification light in the top left corner? its getting to my nerves a little bit as there are always system messages popping up telling me that some app is not getting access to my private data. which i like, but it doesnt have to tell me unasked every few minutes.
also the blinking red light on low battery is super annoying. sorry if i'm asking nooby questions here, just, as i said, very new to both android in general and lineage specifically.
- also is there a way to receive whatsapp messages more reliably? sometimes (not always) i don't receive any, only to get them all at once next time i open whatsapp.
please notice i am not complaining! i am absolutely grateful for this entire "platform", and totally appreciate all the work and support by everyone here. cheers!

cool thx. are there any tutorials on how to do that?
Since Wileyfox migrated from CyanogenMod to plain Android they have allowed a really annoying bug to creep in: SMS alerts are played at full volume in the earpiece during an active voice call.
Apart from being super annoying it might be dangerous in some cases as depending on the volume of the chosen tone, it might damage someones hearing.
Our device is running the stock 7.1.2 ROM which is the first release in which we noticed it.
In previous release, and almost every other device we can think of, the SMS alert during a voice call is either a simple pip or nothing at all.
Are you affected by this too? Have you found a solution (apart from a custom ROM or new phone)?
There seems no way around this in the phone setup and it seems to us that WF need to fix it. If you agree then please take a look at this FB post and vote it up - it may be we can get an update issued:-
https://www.facebook.com/officialwileyfox/posts/1872330073078309
Thanks for reading.
SOLUTION: SMS Alert during voicecall.
For anyone interested we have found a solution: Replace the stock messaging app with Google Messages.
This can be downloaded from Play Store here:-
Google Messages
It seems the stock messaging app somehow gets around or ignores the "Override Do Not Disturb" setting as shown in the attached screenshot.
Hope this helps. :good:
