Does it still cause horrible battery drain?
Sent from my HTC One_M8 using XDA Free mobile app
Try it and find out
Last time I did it drained badly and continued after it was uninstalled

Don't think hangouts is the main issue, because why don't i have that drain. If hangouts was the real issue we all should get a drain. Maybe it's a combo of different things.
No battery issues here and I've been using hangouts for about a week for everything since the latest update. Actually liking it!

So I have unbricked my phone and have flashed cm9 and fullthrottle now I'm on the official ics from att. My phone has been dying quickly. I checked my battery stats and seen android OS in my number 2 spot. Today I unplugged my phone and didn't use it for two hrs and it went down 5% I checked and android os stayed away 1 hr and 53 mins.

Same thing on my end. LG really screwed this up.

You need to install the better battery stats app and see which app is giving you wake locks.

Yep, install better battery stat, it's even free for XDA member, search the app forum.

Also, there's a thread called "known identified battery drainers" in the ATT GS2/I777 forums that has some good, universal stuff on interpreting wakelocks.
Sent from my LG-P930 using xda app-developers app
any luck solving this?
I tried flashing this from 3 times wiping everything and still get the android os taking most of my battery. I tried better battery stats but can really interpret it. I don't have facebook link or instagram. I'll post pics of better battery stats.

Did you flash through CWM or using LG's official tool from a computer?

I'd suggest disabling stock apps you don't need, I guess. Most people seem to think the battery life on that ROM is decent.
I always disable the att apps that come with the stock from. I get about 10 hrs on medium use with the extended battery. If this was fixed then I would get way more
Sent from my LG-P930 using xda app-developers app
same issue
I never even thought to check into that as I have also had bad battery life, but figured it was just the nitro. New to rooting LG's as I had samsungs before. I am having the same exact issue running OH!NO! Full Throttle 7.1 and never realized it.. Is it just settings that are not allowing it to sleep?
I have no clue but there is something that is keeping the phone awake and not letting gp to sleep which is really hurting the battery life

i definitely recommend getting juice defender. it made a HUGE difference in my battery life.
I tried it but it didn't help much just turned off the data. The only thing that really helped was to go into app settings and disable android and it has helped some

I have the same issue. Android OS is (or was) the best battery killer. AT&T support person told me to do factory reset AND DO NOT INSTALL any app that are not preinstalled. I have to install them later one by one to find one incompatible with ICS.
After reset operation (happened 2 hours before) I have now Screen as the best battery killer Battery went from 77% down to 62% with some browsing and preinstalled apps update. It looks promising...
I've been using the facebook app on my note 2 for the past couple of months and ive been constantly noticing that the app has been draining the battery constantly.
It all started after the Facebook home update
Ive attached screenshots of what the battery drain looks like and my current settings and version of the Facebook app
Would appreciate if you could help me out here
I'm running facebook version 3.3

Hibernate the app or uninstall i guess. And use a third party better optimized app. Everything from Facebook for Facebook is useless

I had exactly same problem with facebook. After I hibernated it with greenify, my 7105 batterylife has been amazing.

Hi, my M8 seems to be using quite a lot of power even though it's turned off. For example, overnight whilst I was asleep, it used 30% of the total power consumption. Anyone know why this is happening? Here's a screenshot from just now, after I'd reset my phone.

BlinkFeed is also the name of the launcher.

No problem. I asked the same thing to myself before realizing.
Anyone else having connectivity issues with the XDA forum app or Tapatalk?
XDA works fine through a browser. But Tapatalk and XDA apps take forever, if at all, to load. I usually get a failed to connect message.
Doesn't matter if I'm on wifi or data.
Yes and it's only just recently it's been happening for a few days but I thought it might be a server issue so I'm only just now looking for a real solution. Clearing cache and dalvik in recovery seems to fix it temporarily. For anyone who hasn't experienced it: hitting reload or starting app will give a "unable to connect to forum. Please contact your administrator if this problem persists." This occurs on both lte and Wi-Fi. Also it may be related: I'm unable to watch videos on chrome browser or javelin browser. It's really strange. Setup: HTC m8 rooted a-on tmobile arhd 7 and elex 17. Most things stock with kernel.

Yup I always get an xda app error message. Annoying.
Sent from my HTC One_M8 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
It's happening on my son's sgs3 as well. Both with XDA APP and Tapatalk. So it's on XDA's end.
Here is something weird. Installed ad-away and it's working 95% better. Idk

That is strange...I don't have it currently and usually do. I'll install and inform if it improves.

Do you need to be rooted to install ad-away??

Yeah the xda app is crap, half of the time I get the connection error on a perfectly stable connection, and mostly it won't load all threads etc...
:/
I've got adaway too.
Xda App is actually the worst app known to human and our alien brothers.
It's been fine for a while. I installed adaway again but not sure if it's that our maybe they just corrected a forum thing. Using tapatalk btw.

I gave up on the XDA app a long time ago, it's absolutely terrible and beggars belief that for a forum with so many skilled people on, whoever is behind this app needs to put some serious effort into improving it.
Stick to the Tapatalk app, not perfect much better than the XDA one.

My went back to being a piece of s**t again. It was just coincidence I suppose. It only works 15% of time with Tapatalk or XDA APP. It's funny a development forum app is plague with bugs.
Yes,awful lately

Plus one!!! It has been almost a week now that XDA access via TapaTalk has been terrible. I hate using the browser, so I hope both XDA and TapaTalk get it together and resolve this stuff.

The XDA app is made by Tapatalk and non of the guys you on about don't work for them.
I experienced battery drain during night times. When I went to sleep last night I got 54% of charge left but when I woke up today I got only 21. The phone was in airplane mode and I have cleared all the running apps what might be the reason for such a drain???

There's an app called wakelock detector in the google play market, I dont think you need to be rooted. Wakelocks are things in apps that trigger them to turn on. So presumably, the more wakelocks=worse battery.
But that app requires root for Kit Kat os. Is there any other alternative methods?
Sent from my HTC One_M8 using XDA Free mobile app
If it's not rooted, start with apps. It's very likely it's an app thats bugging. It's not signal or autosync stuff as you said it was in airplane mode.
