Quick question for you guys who have Moto360s. I personally have a LG G Watch right now and have had used it to board planes with the square barcode as the ticket. I was wondering if anyone know if the square barcode gets cut off on circular displays?
It does not get cut off. The square is just smaller so it fits inside the circle.

I am having probems with my touchscreen and want to pull the case off it so that I can check connections.
The service manual states that after having undone the screws along the bottom edge of the screen that you should use a screwdriver to push into the hole in the bottom left hand edge of the screen case to release the catch to separate the two halves, but pushing the screwdriver in there doesn't seem to release anything.
Has anyone here managed to dismantle the screen and have any tips on how to do it?
 youv'e probaly sorted by now
anyhow ur need to obtain a plastic ended screwdriver (unless you fancy damaging case) insert at join wilst using a fine screwdriver, gently push in hole lever outwards while prising and i'tl 'pop' out do same at other end and use plastic srewdriver to pop open along join all around until it pops of.
had to change screen on mine took about 25mins total, advise u use anti static wrist band (lot of sensitive stuff near screen).
Where did you get your screen from? and how much?
 i brought unit off ebay (internally damaged) for the screen (lucky). theres a taiwanese company, selling them, but not seen on ebay for a while, if you look through archives theres also a usa company, but only repair.
Hi,
Just had an MDA Pro screen replaced by these chaps in Wimbledon:
http://www.xdarepairs.co.uk
Cost quoted was about £110 +VAT + Postage fitted, or £90 +VAT for the part on its own. All in, the screen, including fitting, was not much more than the screen on its own from ebay.
Posted to them on Tuesday at 16:45 and received back on Thursday at 08:45. Working beautifully again.
May be worth a try.
Could anyone tell me where in the UK I could purchase a new surround for my Touch Pro 2 as I slipped on ice and my phone shot across the road scratchin the back and the side of the screen in the process.
I have found a digitizer from Hong Kong but would like to purchase from UK. Hope some one may be able to point me in the right direction.
you mean like a battery cover?
http://www.msgdigital.com/productdetail.asp?productid=47493&refid=froogle
I do need the battery cover but as it skidded into the road the cover came off and flipped the phone over onto the screen and skidded on that as well so think I need screen housing.
My last two refurbed DROIDs and my DROID2 have had the blue application tab for the screen glider sticker left on. Why is this? Ive just been getting a sharp knife and cutting them off. Is moto just getting lazy with all their device success?

The blue tab is to allow you to easily pull off the plastic sticker on the back of the screen; they put the plastic there for shipping and packing. Since you cut off the blue tab, it is harder to pull it off; though, the plastic sticker won't hurt the phone, so no big deal either way.
i left it on to keep the slide tight
My initial DROID 1s all had that sticker. Not sure how much it makes the slider tighter by, but it certainly does it's job eliminating metal on metal friction. Like a lubricating / pressure sticker. I don't think its supposed to be removed at all.

it IS supposed to be removed and it's not providing the "lube" effect that you're noticing. check back to a few sites that have actually dismantled a DROID. the sliding mechanism is where the two slots are on the back of the screen.
there are only two objects sliding against the plastic:
the locking mechanism
and the data ribbon
the backing is meant to be removed and provides no protection or benefit.
I'd like to see some form of proof because I can easily argue this.
There are very clearly on both the droid2 and droid1 two pair of wear marks right across this sticker. Plus the last refurb droid I got has the sticker with no blue tab.

i've replaced my backing with a vinyl sticker. the two wear marks are the spring locks that keep your keyboard closed. nothing else. the D2 is constructed identical to the D1 in that regard.
FWIW,
Every single time I have removed the sticker on the back, I ran into two things. Number one, it leaves it sticky. Number two, it makes it near impossible to open the phone quickly. Maybe cleaning it etc.. would fix that problem, but i'd rather just leave it alone.
I've seen a few phones with blue tab stickers, some with two pieces of black tape covering the area.

My girlfriend has an R2D2 Droid2, her's was the only one of the 4 Droid2's I've personally seen with anything left on it, and even so just 1 aclohol wipe out of a box I got at a drug store cleaned it off

Yeah that thing isn't supposed to be there.
My Droid and Droid 2 were just as tight after taking it off... and 6 months later (well just got the Droid 2 so just the Droid on that part )
I actually think they are supposed to be there. I have two pieces of tape and this is my fourth droid 2. The first one without the tape actually had the sliding mechanism leave marks on the backing of the phone where it slides up and down and is hideous. The tape reduces the contact with the back and" absorbs " some of the blow. Im glad I got the two pieces of tape instead of the blue lining because its more pleasing to the eye.
Also it seems more snug and smoother with the tape.

Have any of you EVER purchased ANYTHING electronic? The pieces of plastic with the blue tabs are just there for protection from scratches by anyone OTHER than the customer. The blue tab is there so you can pull that TEMPORARY plastic piece off.
Its the same as that plastic thats on the main screen (you know the one that you probably pulled off?) that tells you what each of the little buttons do.
This is the most pointless topic ever, Lol.
Just compared to my old droid 2. The droid 2 has scratches where the sliding mechanism is and my new droid 2 which I have had for a couple months does not have any scratches as I have left the blue tape still there.
LOL...the blue tab is there so you can pull the plastic off. seriously?..is this topic really real?

if you guys think that the tape is really making that big of a difference, buy a vinyl from here:
http://www.grfxpstore.com/store/search/results?search_query=droid
that tape is made to come off, why do you think it bubbles up? it's not meant to be permanent and it's NOT the sliding mechanism leaving marks, it's the LOCKING mechanism. there are two little tabs that rest in slots at the top of the screen when the keyboard is closed, to help keep the screen from opening (although it does a piss-poor job). you can clearly see the path (scratches) from those tabs leading right to the slots at the top.
there are x-rays and tear-downs of the DROID 1 (same design/functionality as the 2). the sliding mechanism is located in the slots on the edge of teh screen.
Ok, so my accessories came today so I'd thought I'd write a little review about them.
First off, the official Flip cover. I have the ceramic white one, to go with my white phone.
Now I read a few threads and started getting worried about the possibility of a magnet. I checked with my powerful magnet there is not even a tiny one. How it 'sticks' to the screen is static attraction. Same way a balloon can make your hair stick up, bits of paper/fluff stick to a comb after you've used it. Another worry I had was the back looked tacky, poor quality, in pictures I've seen. It is exactly like the original back except it feels a bit more solid, rather than pliable. The front has a matted feel to it which I think might be the same look/feel as the pebble blue's back (but in white). Another thing I wanted to know how much it would look like if I decided to get the blue one, top look similar to the blue pebble theme. I think it will work well for those of us who decided to get a white due to stock delays.
Now, about the CPen. There was complaints that some people thought this would be similar to the SPen. It is just a capacative stylus with a nice 3mm tip.
My last stylus was a cheap £1 one that had more like a 1cm tip to it, which worked fine as a replacement for a finger, but for writing/drawing it really doesn't cut it. This solves that problem, in the SMemo app you get a canvas with some small square grids you can safely put in 10 dots into those squares if your hand is stable enough (mine isn't ). Its not too bulky a pen, its about the size of a Parker pen and has the metal clip you usually have on them. Overall I think you could probably find another 3mm stylus cheaper elsewhere, but this is Samsung branded and looks nice.
Now for the dock. Its a nice little weighty block and the only thing that came with instructions! You just plug your/any micro-usb cable into the back of it and away you go (has a headphone jack too). It has a new screen when its docked called Desk Home and looks like https://docs.google.com/open?id=0ByJ-I1CDRqiicUlDSFYwNjJ3ZTQ which is pretty cool. Not sure if other docks will enable this screen so I doubt you could get a cheaper one to do the same. Also, it works with the flip cover either flipped to the front or flipped around to the back.
To sum up I hope somebody finds this useful and if you have any questions about them feel free to ask or post below.
I'd like to add, that after a short time on the dock, the icons disappear, so does the top bar. And all you are left with is the time, date and weather. Also this randomly moves like every 30 seconds or something.
Specifically, the spot is just left of mid-line and about a 1/3 of the way up from the bottom in portrait mode. If you have the wallpaper of the quill with the scribble (not the ink well), it is just to left of the quill tip. If I press on the corresponding spot on the back or flex the tablet from the sides a bit, a bright spot appears on lighter backgrounds (it doesn't show on dark backgrounds). A white background is back.
Ok, so everyone is going to say don't push or flex the tablet and I agree However, I bought the MoKo rotating case and when I snap it in firmly, this spot appears. I remove the tablet or loosen up the left side of the case, the spot disappears. The case appears to flex the tablet a bit, causing the display issue. I'm going to give another case a try, but MoKo is really the only rotating case, which I really liked.
Since the back of the tablet is "spongy" in this spot and allows it, I was trying to determine if this is a design issue with all of Note 8's or a manufacturing defect with mine. I went to a big box store to test, but they no longer have the Note 8's on display. However, all of the other Samsung tablet models have this issue in one spot or another. It seems Samsung has sacrificed sturdiness for a lower profile. So, I'm wondering if folks can help me determine if I should return this for another unit or deal with it.
I'd try flexing the cover's tabs some to see if I could alleviate the flexing... this is common on all tablets and phones since they are made to be as light as possible these days.
You might be able to heat the case holder with a hair dryer to make flexing/bending it easier.

I've seen this in mine. Definitely pressure flexing back plate pressure on the battery frame. The screws holding the battery will press from the back of the LCD and you'll see a bright dot. Relieve the flex/stress or the dot it permanently bruise.

DizzyDen,
Thanks for the suggestion. I did try flexing it back into shape, but to no avail.

dtvboy,
Thanks for confirming the issue. You are right, the spot does resemble the tip of a screw. I just received the fintie slim case and I no longer have the issue. I miss the rotating stand, but it's better than the distracting dot or damaging my tablet.
Chris
You could also try sanding the flat part of the rotating holder... anything to relieve the pressure it puts on the back of the Note... bending the corners forward on the holder might help as well.
