I am debating between this and Roku 3. Has anyone had issue using your verizon hotspot with Amazon fire TV? Any buffering issues with netflix, mlb tv, and other streaming systems? Normally I pull from 5 to 20 Mbps.

I wasn't able to use the fire stick to watch live tv with kodi and nextpvr because of constant buffering. This post recommends using SPMC, and that worked for me.
I just purchased on Fire TV 2 on Prime Day and have been trying it out as my main streamer. The Roku 3 that I used to use as my primary is now on the bedroom TV. The problem that I'm noticing is that while my wife streams Hulu on the Fire TV I get pretty incredible lag (high latency) while playing Dota 2. This was not an issue with all else being equal when she streamed Hulu on the Roku 3. However, this has always been an issue with streaming Netflix. I can only assume that for whatever reason the Fire TV is hogging much more bandwidth than the Roku 3 did on the same app. Any ideas why this might be? Is there anything that can be done at the device level to try to reduce the amount of bandwidth it saps up? I would appreciate any thoughts on this issue.
Has anybody encountered issues streaming Netflix in 4k in their Fire Tv box 2? I can get Amazon series / shoes. And youtube to stream in 4k. As well as streaming netflix in 4k to my tv from my Xbox and the smart app on the tv. For some reason though it won't stream in 4k fro, the Fire tv box 2. I am running the latest rooted firmware and have ran the last 2 or 3 rooted roms in order of release as well. It appears very close to 4k when streaming but there are noticeable tracers and issues with fast movement that don't occur on the Netflix app in 4k via the other devices. With all said above, that rules out the tv, hdmi cable, port on the tv and even the Netflix app because I uninstalled and reinstalled it. Just curious as to what I'm missing.
Not a lot of us using 4k yet. I keep putting off buying one because I have more then enough Tv's at the moment. And can't justify the expense to myself yet...But as soon as the 70inch craps out I'm all over it
I have recently purchased second gen Fire TV stick. I have a Prime Video subscription in Croatia and all my devices (iphone, nvidia shield) have no problem streaming Prime video except Fire stick. Fire stick has no issues streaming from Netflix but whenever I try to stream Prime video content I get error code: network error.
Any ideas?
Same problem with my Fire Stick 2. Netflix, Zattoo work but no Amazon videos. Network_Error
Been struggling with this problem for ages... I live in Italy and have a regular Prime video account.
Any help is greatly appreciated.
Has anyone repurposed their FireTV (stick or box) to something other than a media player? Like a VPN router or a web server?
I have a Toshiba Fire TV now and 4 or 5 rooted fire tv sitting around doing nothing so I figured I'd ask
Thanks
