It really depends on how they do it. I can't imagine them taking the time to release individual firmwares for the different regions. My guess is there will just be 1 firmware and the region of the Amazon account determines what is available. But who knows... I don't really know much about international people using it right now. I assume it requires a US based Amazon account? Does it just not work if you try to use a UK one?

I would recommend taking a look at this article, I would imagine eventually it will be sold there through Amazon. One possible way around this is do you have any family or friends in the USA who would be willing to buy it and ship it to you? If that's not an option what you can do is use a service like this where you can buy the item on Amazon, ship it to them, and then they will forward it along to you in a couple days of shipping time.

A US-based VPN service would be a good way around that.
Honestly, I'd stay away from it for now.
I just got one (I'm Canadian), and I've setup a US based DNS that I use for Netflix, etc. on all my other devices and I still get content unavailable errors. I can't even *install* netflix without sideloading it right now.
This isn't ready to be used in Canada, go get an Android stick or a Google TV for now (I'm still using my Hisense Pulse's because the FireTV is so broken in Canada right now).
Luckily I had to get one for some development work so I'm not that disappointed, but don't buy this yet and expect it to work well in Canada, even with a US VPN/DNS...
Do you think us canadians will get the firmware updates from Amazon with a canadian IP?
Anyone know the best place to buy a ROOTABLE Fire Tv box with the old firmware from? I order one off Amazon last week and it came with the updated firmware already installed...

I bought mine from my local Best Buy store. I bought one with the lowest S/N.
(I am going to take mine back, though because I've chosen to keep my Nexus Player.)
Staples
Get yourself 25$ off 75$ coupon and save even more. 2 out of 2 were rooted

Yep Staples definitely have the ones with the old firmware. Picked up one late this evening. They on sale for $79.00. What coupon are you referring to though? I may get a few more lol.

Just got mine this morning too. Paid $85 out the door from Staples. Came with software version 51.1.0.1 so I was set! I've got a feeling they don't sell very many. They didn't have any on display and the first 2 service reps I spoke with didn't know what it was until I showed them a picture from their website. They had to dig one out of the back room.
Grabbed mine from the back of the display in Best Buy on black friday, got a rootable one. Honestly, there is no guarantee, but:
1) grab the lowest SN possible
2) if you can tell, grab the dustiest one (likely in the far back)
I have ordered several of Amazons refurbished models and all of them have been rootable. They had 6 left last time I checked. No promises but I now have 3 rooted Fire TV's.

Agreed. Their shameful work should be chastised. After the fruits of their labors have been picked, rooted and put to good use!
I've been finding a lot that have rootable serials. I've checked Best Buy, Staples, RadioShack, and others. There are a lot out there. Every store I go to I check the serials to see if they fit. Below are the serials I've acquired from XDA posts and other places:
These and lower

I picked up one at Staples yesterday and it had the original firmware on it. Was going to give it to my dad but instead Ill be giving him the one I bought that isnt rootable. He doesnt care about anything rooting brings so it wont be an issue with him.
I'm seeing alot of people are finding preorders in places like UK and germany. Is the M9 the same hardware no matter where it's sold with software being the only difference, or should I avoid ones sold in other countries if my intended use is for in America?

The radio chips are customized for various regions. Wait for the US model.
Was browsing the web and thought Id take a look at moto's Japan site.
So since XDA wont let me post links, go to motorola japan to look.
Motorola recently updated their Japanese webpage and the Moto 360 is the start page.
Good news (for me) considering Motorola has zero presence in Japan.
For example; the phones they have on the page include razr and razr HD !
Does anyone have any info on this ??
What is so interesting in the fact that Moto 360 is available in Japan ? You could buy one years ago from eBay or from one of the online US stores, if you wanted one.

Well motorola hasnt sold anything in Japan for years. If you look at the webpage, youll see !
Getting stuff from ebay is a hassle if you live here - the fact that they seem to be back is a step in the right direction

Plus the range of android wear watches is very limited here. And I dont want to be rude but this would be interesting to people living in Japan who are members here - whats so interesting about stuff coming the the US or UK ???
Ahem, are you talking about the fact that Motorola is selling it directly or about the availability?
Because I bought the Moto 360 last year already on Amazon Japan.
Cheers
Tom

I don't want to be rude either. And believe it or not, I do understand your position. I live in an UE country which never gets the goodies launched in US and UK. And yet I can easily manage to buy the things that others are getting first, at good prices. We live in a global market, prices are similar, warranty indeed is a problem but I for one don't think that I needed warranty work more than 2 times in my dozens of devices purchased.
I will be rude....
Just kidding. The moto 360 is way overpriced on amazon.co.jp because it is imported (from us amazon?). I think 2nd gen is $500 (¥49999) right now. This is great news cause I can get one cheaper and with a warranty and maybe with some google goodies, like play store credit or something. 1st gen is like $250 right now, but $150 on us playstore.
Edit: Looks like a $150 moto 360, gen 1, is only 6-12 bucks to ship to Japan from us amazon. Not bad, but with the weak yen, we still take a hit, so it would be better if priced at ¥30000 on the jp google store. But, I do not see it on the store here in japan. Really want a 360 2nd gen. hmmmm......

I have been searching, and cannot find anywhere to buy this specific model.
I want the 802L specifically, since it has the LTE bands that T-Mobile uses.
Does anyone know where I can buy one online?
Thanks!
There's one for sale on Amazon right now. I bought mine from the ebay user: factory-unlocked Maybe you could contact them about getting one? When I bought mine (July) they were selling them from both China and the USA. Now they don't list them for sale but maybe they could get you one.

Thanks - unfortunately the one on Amazon right now is listed under the 802L, but is actually an 803L if you go to the seller's listing.
I had contacted a number of eBay sellers, and could not find any that could supply the 802L model.
I just thought I would update this in case anyone else came along.
I ended up using buyee.jp to order one directly from Amazon Japan.
I will update this when it arrives.

So, I received the tablet and have been using it for a little while on T-Mobile.
It took about a week for the Buyee process to work. The total added price, over the Amazon.co.jp price, was about $35.
Everything is working well, great tablet, love the build quality.
Didn't like the launcher, so I switched it with Nova straight off.
Hoping Marshmallow comes soon.
The tablet DOES work as a phone on the T-Mobile network, and gets LTE.
I have personally seen up to 40Mb/s down on it.
As a phone... The speaker is near your ear, but it faces outward. Don't try to make any private calls in public places with it, as bystanders can hear your conversations.
Hope this helps someone else like me.
