I'm quite new to this android ROM thing, but I want to install Cyanogenmod 11 in my S4 mini duos. It happens that I want to make a full system image of my actual android, so that I can make a backup in case I don't like using Cyanogenmod. I've found out that CWM can do that, but the ROM Manager found in Google's app store doesn't officially support my device. Is there an unnofficial install of CWM that works with S4 mini duos? Or is there another way to make a full system image of my android?
In original android development you can find cwm recovery by ARCO, philz touch recovery
In android development you can find twrp by f4k.
Thanks! Now I've succesfully installed cyanogenmod, and now I have a backup of my previous phone state.

Hello, I cannot use CWM Recovery on my chinese galaxy note 2 even though it is the GT-N7100 series. Chinese firmware ZCALJ6. I have root already, I have rom manager 5.5 and CWM Recovery version 6.0.1.9. Whenever I want to boot into it, I get the standard android recovery instead. All I want to do is just fully backup my device. Please Help.
Many thanks in advance.
Hi folks.
I just installed the KitKat 4.4.2 (CyanogenMod 11.0) 20140116 from Novafusion on my GIO S5660.
Now I see "Cryanogenmod" in the lower display and a rotating arrow around a symbol for hours.
Is that normal or did something go wrong.
I had the mobile rooted and px-cwm-v2 installed, cleared cache and dalvik prior to ROM installation.
Installation was done via px-cwm-v2 in recovery mode.
Any suggestion appreciated.
You need to use the latest CWM for KitKat.
I use this http://forum.xda-developers.com/sho...dvanced Edition / PhilZ Touch Recovery 6.40.1
You will have to flash back to stock and root, because to install PhilZ you need to do it through Terminal Emulator. You could also try the latest MMB CWM which can be flashed through CWM (but I'm bit sure if it will flash KitKat properly).
Sent from my GT-5660 using XDA Free mobile app
For recent cm11 roms released in Aug 2014, you need to use CWM 6.0.5.3 to install them.
Read more if you what to know more.
Thanks guys!!!
Unfortunately the PhilZ Touch Recovery 6.40.1 didn't work for me as for some reason Odin got stuck setting up connection.
I assume that access to SD wasn't possible.
But the 6.0.5.3 was installable from SD in recovery.
With that "new" recovery I was able to install the Novafusion Kitkat and now everything is running fine.
Thanks for your valueable support!
working
i just trying install cm11 august releases with twrp 2.7.0.0, not work...then i install cwm 6.0.5.3 and latest cm11 august releases installs correctly...nice work at all
Hi guys,
I own both a Galaxy S2 and Ace2. I have already installed CyanogenMod on the S2 and I am about to do the same on the Ace2 using an unofficial release. I have noticed differences in the procedure between the two devices and I would like to understand these differences.
On the S2 you first need to install a custom recovery (ClockworkMod) using Odin before flashing the Cyanogenmod zip. The reason for this is the stock recovery will recognise that Cyanogenmod is a custom ROM and will not permit it to be installed directly.
However on the Ace2 it seems that you can install Cyanogenmod directly from zip using the stock recovery. Does the stock recovery on the Ace2 not have the ability to recognise custom ROMs or does it simply not care?
Thanks in advance.
I don't know about recovery recognision but I know that installing Custom ROM on Ace 2 is easier than on S2. You just need to flash the zip with Cyanogenmod but sometimes Custom ROM's need newer recovery so then you must install temporary CWM recovery to flash that kind of Custom ROM.
hey guys,
still had carbonrom 4.4 on my z1c and wanted to update to a blisspop
mistake #1: I made a backup with cwm
well, overall i couldnt get myself used to 5.1 so i wanted to get back to my beloved kk rom.
but blisspop put cm recvoery on my z1c. i tried to install dual recovery but it didnt work due to footer failure. so i first installed twrp and my next step was to install dual recovery so i could recover my nandroid backup with cwm. but now i cant boot into cwm anymore. everytime i try it through ndr utility, rom manager it boots into twrp.

Aroma installer for kernel including cwm, (you should be able to flash via twrp) - http://forum.xda-developers.com/son...ent/ub-root-recovery-busybox-lolipop-t3085479 IMG of same idea - http://forum.xda-developers.com/son.../cwm-recovery-kernel-deactivated-ric-t2814708
Make sure you restore your backup once you get cwm, don't try to boot your current ROM after flashing these kernels
Dear all,
I would like to know how I can install TWRP on a samsung galaxy s4 mini?
- S4 mini 4G LTE (international version serranoltexx)
- Odin latest version
- I use the serranoltexx variant of TWRP .md5
I use Odin latest version and the TWRP version of XDA: But every time I try to get into TWRP get stock recovery, with FAIL:
First I still had the set of warrenty bit recovery fail. But that is now gone.
Someone who can help me? This is because it wants to install LOS on it, so it works better than the stock ROM.
Flash TWRP
I also had the same problem, but i solved it by flashing CWM first, and then, using CWM, i flashed TWRP (custom-twrp-3.2.0-1-serranoltexx-STABLE-signed.zip). With it i flashed LineageOS 15.1 (lineage-15.1-20180222-UNOFFICIAL-serranoltexx.zip) with no problem.
Root with Kingoroot and flash .img file with Flashify
