LastuCase - Semi-Wooden case - Nexus 5 Accessories

LastuCase is a Finnish company, which manufactures semi-wooden cases that have matte hard plastic on them as well. Kind of expensinve at 29€, but they look good. For other phone models they have a bit larger amount of models, but they have on for N5 too. Here's a link to their website:
http://lastucase.com/product/lastu-...-wooden-wood-suoja-kuori-kotelo-suojakuori/#/
Does anyone happen to have any experience with these?

Looks identical to this : http://www.amazon.com/BoxWave-Minim...=1409250296&sr=8-2&keywords=wood+case+nexus+5
After searching Amazon to find that link I found there are a lot of new wooden cases.

Carved does it as well IIRC.

Video Review: Aluminum Bumper Case Review

Hey fellas,
Got my hands on affordable (but well made!) aluminum bumper style case for the Galaxy S3. This particular model came from Tmart but you can find similar ones on eBay, in all sorts of colors. It's a two piece case that fits nice and snug around your S3. It WILL bubble up some screenshields, which is unfortunate. All the ports and the cutouts are spot on, which is impressive for such an affordably priced case. Overall, while it doesn't offer a lot of protection, if you're looking for a bumper case - this is a good option!

Why keep throwing that word "affordable" out and not say what you paid for it? I have this very case since August ordering it straight from the manufacturer. I could find no dealer in the US. Plus, there were many knockoffs, especially on Ebay. Don't get me wrong, I love my TrioBump, I'm just annoyed at how so many post while leaving out details!
EDIT: Well, I watched the video and must apologize and complain even more! I should have watched it first (my bad) but I'd rather read the pertinent details in the post than watch a vid. I do not agree with your assessments. I think this case gives protection where it is needed most. I don't use any of those new fangled screen protectors that supposedly protect the display from impact damage. I think that's going to far. I do employ the Invisishield on front and back. It give a very snug fit with no bubbling. That said, I'm confident that I will not get any damage if my phone take a hit anywhere this bumper covers. My only concern would be having it hit a rock directly to the screen and in that case, I have insurance. I like the minimalist form factor plus the ease with which it can be taken on/off to change batteries. Plus, I can use it with my FlyGrip which is why I searched for just such a minimalist case. You slip in your two fingers and can use the phone with one hand without worrying about dropping. Plus, as you can see, it doubles as a stand. What has me newly annoyed is the price you quoted. I paid about 4o bucks from the manufacturer, Gimmick Five. I don't see how it could be sold for just 10 dollars.
EDIT: Just checked Gimmick Five's website, and they are still listed at 39.99 US. I'd like to know the story behind Tmart's TrioBumps.

Best Case for Samsung Galaxy Note 3 (Wallet type case with card slots)?
Hard to say what is a best since it could be a matter of personal preference, but you can get a lot of choices here: http://www.tvc-mall.com/search?cid=&q=note+3+wallet
If I'm looking for no-brand name accessories, I typically deal with either tvc-mall.com for cases or dx.com for other gadgets.

I like texture of this case.
I have not seen any brand cases where they have those card slots and have nice texture.
Many cases looks so wierd and poor quality.

Looks very similar to one of the S4 cases I tested/reviewed from case-parts.com (it's the same company as tvc-mall.com), here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2319150 - scroll down to white wallet case. The texture and built quality was very good.

this looks very proper and elegant, thanks :good:
Taking a shot with this. Exactly the type and style I was looking for. Almost abnormally high number of 5 star reviews on Amazon but looks legit:
Black Panther Leather Wallet Case
Black Leather Wallet Case
Ordered the Black Panther directly through their website, followed on Twitter for 10% discount, ends up $9 cheaper than Amazon
Fliptroniks direct link
No mention of it (or the company) through a search here at xda so taking a chance. I'll return and give my opinion once I get it.
Spigeon Slim Armor S-view
Although I usually love Spigeon cases, the Slim Armor S-View model is sub-par IMO. The hinge for the front cover is held together by two small plastic pegs, which after less than a month of opening and closing it has caused the plastic part that holds the pegs in, to break off and the hinge will not stay on and close. If you just love the case or want the S-View function, than I would eith suggest the official Samsung S-View case and buy the magnetic clips to keep it closed, or get a knock-off case. I remember aliexpress.com having a bunch of knock-off stuff for cheap, but keep in mind it is still knock-off/clones.
Wallet case? I don't know, probably Spigen has some nice cases. I have one wallet case and is from Design Skin. I like it, but don't how others would think about it.
I just want to say i don't like my Note 3.

Slimmest case

Can I get an opinion on a good very slim case... Basically something that covers back and sides.

so far i like it....especially for ~$3 shipped. just takes a while to get here.
You have several choices if you glance over this forum. Ones that come to mind (to help you with your search in this thread) are ringke slim, spigen ultra fit slim, bear motion slim, and a couple of other slim knock offs on eBay. I think the ringke is the best option. It's very grippy, feels identical to the naked N5 back side
Nexus5
I'm a fan of the Nillkin. It's extremely slim, the grip is beautiful, and the material won't scratch the phone. Easily my favorite of the shell cases.
Available on Amazon!
I would recommend quicksand cases. Cheap but awesome

Just do a search in the forum dude. This question has been answered tons of times! Look over a bunch (all of the reviews have pics) and take your pick.
Here's a bunch of reviews I did of hardcases from ebay. Ton of pics. (I recommend the Quicksand cases, or Semi Transparent if you have a White Nexus 5)
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2577289
Bear Motion Sand Cases (don't bother, it's just a quicksand case like mine above with Bear Motion stamped on it. You can see comparisons in the thread).
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2570183
Spigen Ultra Fit (Many recommend it, a good case, known to scratch corners if you're not careful because of how rigid it is).
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2513645
Ringke Slim (I have it, like it a lot. Thinner than the Spigen. Switch between it and my quicksand cases often, a good case, known to scratch corners if you're not careful because of how tight/rigid it is).
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2507313
Nillkin Nexus 5 case (No experience with this one, but people here really like it).
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2518646
amCase ultra slim (People really like it, nice fit, but may peel the finish easily).
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2596427
0.33mm Thin TPU case (Hit or miss, some really like it, others have had problems, ridiculously thin though).

I agree that there's enough of these threads that a search will find easy answers now (like all of the ones I listed above, were found with searching "slim" or "thin").
Also, why even bother mentioning where it's from? If the case is good, who cares where it comes from. Everything is pretty much manufactured and shipped from somewhere in S.E Asia anyway. Have a look here to compare the Bear Motion Slim to standard Quicksand. The same goes for their Semi Transparent Polycarbonate.
The main difference, is if you go with ebay or alibaba etc, you skip the middle men/paint/branding/retailer markups, ordering usually direct from factory seller. So what's essentially $20 from a retailer, you can get for $0.99 - $2.00. The only drawback, is it takes about 3 weeks to arrive.

Because I read a lot here and most folks say "they are Chinese knockoffs" . I'll redact my comment above, I apologize if you were offended by it. I don't care if the cases come from Pluto it was just the way it's been put by others in the forum and I was re-quoting it.

No worries, I wasn't offended by it. It always just seems to be a blanket assumption/insult thrown around a lot here though. Mostly based off misunderstanding/unfamiliarity of how manufacturing and distribution works.
Most people don't realize that the case they're holding in their hand, from some big name company is the exact same product made from the same "cheap Chinese factory." The only difference being that these knockoffs, are the exact same product before Branding/Marketing/Retailer Distribution/Cost Markups are attached to it. The prestige of a brand name make people think that these cheaper versions from China are inferior, when in fact they are the same thing, from the same place, minus a company logo, just sold to you directly. Now I'm not saying that's how it is 100% of the time, but the majority of the time, if something is manufactured in China, that is the case.
I feel bad more so for the Chinese people that frequent xda, or in general. That their ethnicity is used so easily and frequently as an insult for low quality.

I understand and can relate

Finding good cases and screen protectors for OP5T

I recently got my OP5T and I'm pretty happy with it.
However when looking at accessories on the site, the prices were kind of ridiculous. I decided to wait until the aftermarket options picked up.
I found a cheap case to use until better ones are available (i.e. Supcase) as I'm not seeing any decent aftermarket cases available.
The screen protector situation seems sketchy at the moment. I looked at a ton on AMZ and nearly all had poor reviews for incorrect fit. The only one I saw with positive reviews were $14/2 which was really high.
So I figured there would be others in the same situation and looking for a good case and screen protector. It might take a little bit for aftermarket supplies to catch up, but I wanted there to be a place for people to post and find them. If anyone found a good working screen protector, let us know. Cases as well.
I'm looking for a good screen protector. There are the ones by "Wtbone" with various sellers on amazon, I ordered some as it had almost a full five star review and found that it's too small. Then I read all the one start reviews... basically calling the five star reviews fake.
Looking at the others, they all seem to have this problem. I would love to get a good one if anyone has any recommendations.
Hello,
You could try the Nillkin's amazing H and H+ pro, premium quality, a little bit smaller than the screen on both sizes (like 0.5mm it's nothing), but they fit soooo well. (Trust me, i have tested a lots of them on amazon and dealed with incorrect fits, bubbles and fake reviews lol)
Edit : the pb is that glass screen protectors wider than the OLED screen doesn't fit cause of the small curve of the screen and full black cover, for some of thems doesn't really stick to the screen or incorrect cuts.
Pierre
I had actually already found a really good case. I found one that's almost identical to the Unicorn Beetle. I found out that Supcase won't be releasing the Unicorn Beetle for the OP5T and got this. It's very similar looking, except the front enclosure, which I didn't care for much anyways.
OnePlus 5T Case, As-Guard [Dual Layer] Heavy Duty Drop Protection Armor Hybrid Defender Shockproof Protective Case Cover For OnePlus 5T (Blue) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B078MFPWTY/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_f5gvAbXP46ME7
Honestly I'm not sure we're going to get a bunch of "brand name" case options. OnePlus is releasing phones so quickly without giving the models time to breathe, and they aren't selling enough for manufacturers to justify making accessories for them. At least that's the way it's looking to me. Heck they are already ramping up for the OP6, why should they worry about a case for the 5T.
Your options are most likely going to be what they are, the cheap China stuff.
I had the same experience as Pierroxx. I tried several screen protectors (five 2D ones actually, 1 3D). So far the only 2D one that worked was the most expensive, the Nillkin brand one. The 3D one I used was the One Plus one which was also excellent, and worked well other than it won't work with most cases other than the OEM ones.

slimmest hard or semi soft case for xz2 compact?

Looked all over Amazon etc for cases for this phone, but only found a rather too thick and plastic tpu for temporary use. Doesn't seem like there's any premium cases at all that is just thinnest and scratch resistant only.
Any links appreciated.
Hi,
Here an post talking about Cases! The Best! The Worst! : https://forum.xda-developers.com/xperia-xz2-compact/accessories/best-worst-t3777780/page3
Very difficult to find...
I bought this one : https://www.amazon.fr/Ringke-Résist...r=8-1-spons&keywords=xz2+compact+ringke&psc=1
I like with Ringke the good sensitivity of the buttons and the good protection (bought with Z3C, Z5C and XZ2C).
You had to choose between hard and good protection or slim and less protection...
Is it the first time that you buy a case for your phone ?
I'm using this case: http://a.co/giFeSfM
It's a very thin hard case with a matt finish. I am very happy with it personally!
Also it looks like the seller updated their images to accurately reflect the corners on it which is good. I initially left a four star review for it due to this discrepancy. The seller tried to bribe me with another case to raise my review to five stars, which I was actually quite offended by. I refused, but told them they should update their CGI mockups. It looks like they have. So yeah, not happy about them trying to bribe me, but the product is good. I just updated it to five stars since it's accurately depicted now.
I too favor the case described by AgentOrange. I got three to try and it's my favorite. Good grip (others were too slippery). Thin and low-profile.
I'm using this one: https://www.amazon.de/PhoneNatic-Xp...d=1537557732&sr=8-6&keywords=xz2+compact+gelb
