So I love SlimRom, and all I really wanted to do was build it to go faster. Weeklies from Slim come out on Sundays, and I'll be realising my weeklies a few days later. I want to test stability before I give it to you. Anyways, I'm not responsible for what you do to your phone  , and do a nandroid backup, because if you don't, you're stupid.
I'm guessing you know how to flash.
For F2FS you must use Chet's 2.8.1 TWRP recoveryTWRP 2.8.0.1
8.4 w/ Custom Toolchain, -o3 = Dev-Host
XDA
Thanks to Chet, Emmanuel, and the SlimRom team.
Future plans: build my own kernel, remove some apps, add some apps, clone to github
Here's a toolchain I built, based off Linaro 8.14 -o3, but I updated all the libraries to the newest ones:
GMP
Cloog
isl
mpc
mpfr
pkg-config
zlib
Dev-Host Toolchain

Nice work man, im probably going to give it a shot since im already on slim right now!
7.8 built, stability testing now
7.8 stable
7.8 is stable, but I'm going to rebuild with newest Linaro and test version 8.14 ... also working on my own toolchain with -o3 flag

I've been on your 7.6 one and it was pretty nice about to flash 7.8
Quick question about this, since you credited Chet in the OP...
To my understanding, LiquidSmooth is a Slim-based ROM, right? And Chet is currently working on Liquid (using a customized UBER kernel)
Can you outline the main differences between your customized SlimKat and Chet's Liquid builds?
I am currently running and older build of Carbon with Wild v.7, but I am considering trying out both your ROM and Chet's LiquidSmooth. Appreciate your help.
P.S. - Back in weekly 7.4, I tried installing Wild v.9 but it caused random freezes. Would you happen to know what changes in that kernel caused it? Also, will your own custom kernel be based on Wild?
4.4.4, custom toolchain with o3 and built with o3 and ofast, plus all toolchain libraries are newest versions, and I forgo the extra stuff in interest of size as d simplicity. I built 7.4 with v8 wicked because it was more stable, also the governor that was most stable was intellidemand. I can't vouch for the others. And yes it will be built based on wild, but it'll a little less aggressive. I credit Chet with showing me ways to incorporate ideas into roms. He's super helpful
May I port this rom to my quincyatt (that's if you're not part of SlimTeam)? Of course proper credit and links will be given of course...
Yup
I've noticed that the video recording don't work. I've tested on Official Slim, and yours. Still a rock solid ROM tho. Just can't make my vines X3

I'll check that app too. I've read you have to change resolution, back out of app, then restart
Also I have a custom kernel I want to start adding to build, anyone have any performance/battery commits they like?
Hello all, I'm getting a message that root cannot be found on this rom, however, I see it has superuser? Does anyone else has this issue?
Edit: Nevermind I fixed it. Anyone else having trouble getting Wild Kernel to work?

First go to System settings, and click on Advanced options (it's at the bottom). Next click on Superuser, and go to its settings by either clicking on the settings button on the device or by clicking the 3 dots on the top right. After that click on "Superuser Access" and change it to "Apps Only". Next click on where it says "Automatic Response" and change it to "Prompt". You should be good to go. Also just FYI if you want to use a Wild Kernel with this rom it must be version 10, and below because ver. 11 freezes..
Thanks for your help...just another question I don't know if you can help but I'm unable to mount my sd card for some reason the sd card is not showing up

Is your SD card dead? I would try using a different one. The only issues I had with wild kernel so far is that the newest ver 11 would not let the rom boot and some of the overclock frequencies freeze the device. I running version 10 and its working very nice lol. Been on for like 2 hours with no freezing or nothing lol.
Edit Build 3 boots.
Anything new to look forward to?

Introduction
This is a test version of OmniROM with SGX DDK 1.9 graphics drivers, as well as many OMAP-related kernel updates. No, this isn't 3.4, but a LOT of TI updates were packed into the kernel. Currently, this is only for maguro, but anyone can build it for toro/toroplus with the sources.

Click to collapse
Features
The ROM and the kernel has a stock feeling - no mods were added.
Most notable new features:
- SGX DDK [email protected]
- GPU governor
- Enabled 384 MHz GPU frequency (as a part of the OMAP updates)
- Tons of background changes for the kernel

Important notes
Camera and OMX is not working yet! This turned out to be a harder task for me to fix than implementing the new GPU drivers...
Other bugs are not known yet, but there may be some! Bug reports are welcome.
Thanks to everyone who helped me, especially Hashcode, as I used his repos as an example on how to set up things properly.

FAQ
How can I install this?
Just flash the ROM zip (and optionally GAPPS), and you're done.
Can I install this on top of Omni roms?
Yes, you should be able to do so without data loss.
Can I revert to non-1.9 Omni after this without data loss?
Yes.
Is this faster than the current ROMs/kernels?
As this is a stock-like ROM and kernel, not necessarily - there are no optimizations, etc added.
However, if one adds the optimizations used on current custom roms and kernels, this should be faster than them.
Can I install another kernel?
No, the new drivers require the ROM and the kernel side to match each other. Only this combination will work.
When will you fix camera?
I'm trying, but I don't have much success...
Can I help?
Sure, I appreciate any help, as I'm running out of ideas on how to fix camera and OMX.
Can I build this stuff myself?
Of course - everything needed is on my github. You'll need the following repos added to your Omni sources:
omni_android_device_samsung_tuna
omap (newpvr2 branch)
proprietary_vendor_samsung_tuna

Amazing! I will try out tommorow
I've installed it and it feels smooth, I've not encountered any bugs yet. Have you tried removing "kitkat workarounds" from frameworks/native?
Thanks for your awesome work
Nice work! Seems a lot more responsive although it may be placebo effect.
Thanks for posting this, I'm going to try building for toroplus, since we seem to get left out of the excitement so often. My internet connection is slow and so is my computer, so you will probably have everything fixed before I get a chance to even look for bugs.
Great work! I hope you manage to get camera working soon.
Amazing work bro, wishing u best of luck !!

Yeah, but the glitches are still there. Actually, that may be a bug in android itself (it affects a lot of devices), they may have fixed it on L... and those workarounds are really not important, as the problem only comes when taking screenshots. And since android takes screenshots for the rotation animation, etc, those glitches appear there as well. The workarounds just force it to take screenshots on CPU-path, they don't change anything else.
I think they fixed it in DDK 1.12 (which is the next version after 1.9), but that's another story, as I think it does not support our GPU (but it may in the future).

I recommend a clean flash if coming from another ROM.
hi
I am interested on this rom and i wonder if someone has test it already.
i am running slimkat which is pretty good but starts lagging with time.
Do you have the same behavior with this one?
Is this one compatible with ART?

Just installed this and initial impression is that it works great. Didn't touch my Kindle Fire for a year and i can see there are a lot of improvements made in this time.
I'll keep you posted on the long term (and gaming) performance (installing heartstone and the cave right now).
(Modern) gaming didn't work, heartstone didn't start en the cave has low fps and crashes after 2 minutes. Maybe a little bit too ambitious.
Battery life is much better then before. Only installed Gapps and one google account sync. After 24h on standby (wifi was enabled) i still got 30% battery.

Hi there mmandro, if you want to know whats changed from build to build you can check the commit logs via https://github.com/sledges/sfa-mer, there is no public change log (I can talk to the guys about doing so) so the commits are the nearest thing to a change log we have for the moment

Thanks for great work with sailfish
I have using this, latest version. This one: sailfishos-maguro-release-1.1.4.29-my1-201504292249.zip
I can call, send sms. WiFi working. Mobile data working too.
Bluetooth and camera not working. BT only blinking after ticking the ON button. But is I leaving BT menu and returning back, button is OFF again.
Ant camera is only black screen with various camera settings. I can change settings, but camera not working. Not front nor main cam.
This is a great new!
I'm incredibly happy that someone (maybe italian like me) had the great idea of porting a wonderful OS to our honoured GNext to give him new life. I hope I will be able to use this as my daily OS.
I wish I could help more testing it but this is the only phone I have and I can't risk to brick it.
Good luck, I wish you all the best and keep this project alive, I'm sure the Gnext community will be happy to switch to this OS.

Hello,
I just wanted to say thanks for the ROM. I'm flashing it right now.
I also wanted to say that the pre-alpha link points to an earlier version of 1.1.2 than the alpha one.
Cheers,
I have decided, after a long time, to come back and support this device a little bit.
For current features, it is basically AK kernel from OPO brought to Find 7. I will spend some time refining it to have my own work in it.

Hey, this is awesome! I've been looking around for a kernel for this phone for a while now; I'm super happy to finally find one. I'll be trying this out asap!
Awesome work...
I can't speak for all the Find 7 owners, but this is a long time coming. I love this device and hate that nobody supports it. I've been looking forever for a kernel and none better than a OPO to bring this device alive. I actually just tried it and got a bootloop. I'm currently running MIUI V7 which is built on 4.4.4. Once again, thank you bro.
This kernel is compatible on which rom? Thanks for bringing back custom kernel for find 7a.
Works fine on SlimSaber! Welcome back man!
This doesn't work on any of the Kitkat builds. As said, it is only for the lollipop build. It works on CM and said by Suraj.das on SlimSaber. I'm not too sure about other ROMs.
anyone can play videos in chrome browser?
Wow 100+ download but less than 10 thumbs up? Please give a proper credit and give feedback.
Anyone manage to tweak the kernel through any kernel editor app? I tried Synapse but the device is not yet supported so there is no setting available.

Can you please assist in clearing up what the issues being reported are? I don't have the device to test any of this.

Alright gotcha.
As the bugs mentioned above bout the videos can't be played, I will wait till the stable version release whilst exodus rom with its optimized kernel is quite good at the moment.
Keep up the good works, devs.
Hi OnePlus 5 peeps!
Today (June 27th), I graduated from high school!
In more important news, I finished upstreaming the OnePlus 5 kernel to the latest stable kernel version...
Whoa, what is this?
This is my personal kernel that I run as the OnePlus 5 is my daily driver.
I will not claim my work as the best at anything, but just know that I would not do anything to this kernel that could potentially ruin my own device.
Additionally, this is the kernel that comes built into CarbonROM.
There are three versions of this kernel:
AOSP aka AOSP/LOS build - Flash this on any source built custom ROM except for CarbonROM
CR-5.1 aka CarbonROM build - Flash this on CarbonROM
OOS aka OxygenOS build - Flash this version on OxygenOS
Main features:
Upstreamed Linux kernel version, went from v4.4.21 -> v4.4.79
Backported random driver from Linux v4.12 (latest and greatest)
Backported scheduler from Linux v4.9 (latest android kernel branch)
Upstreamed F2FS driver from f2fs-stable/linux-4.4.y
KGSL driver improvements
MDSS driver improvements
SOC driver improvements
Built using Optimization Level 2
Added maple io scheduler (default) by frap129
Added adreno idler by arter97 with tweaks from frap129
Vibrator motor control by flar2
Kcal control driver from EX kernel
Many wakelocks disabled
Switched to power efficient workqueues across the kernel
Built with Google's latest stable gcc-4.9
Anykernel 2.0 by osm0sis! Compatible with all OxygenOS based roms
Download:
Latest builds
OxygenOS boot.img
How to install:
1. Reboot into the latest stable TWRP build
2. Download kernel zip and make sure it is in your internal storage (/sdcard)
3. Reboot into TWRP
4. Double check here to see if you require any additional instructions
5a. Install -> Install image -> select oxygen-4.x.x-boot.img -> swipe to install
5b. Install -> select CarboniteKERNEL-XXX-Rx-OP5-N.zip -> swipe to install
6. Reboot
DISCLAIMER!
If you don't understand my instructions, that's too bad >
If you are unsure about what this thing is, I highly advise you do some research before going through with installing...
Updates will come as regular as I want them to, don't ask me when I'll release cause you'll know when it comes out >:'D

For OxygenOS users:
Code:
[B]If you are on OxygenOS and are coming from another custom kernel:[/B]
Download the latest stock.4.X.X-boot.img
You [B]must[/B] flash the boot.img before flashing the kernel!
[B]If you are on OxygenOS are switching to a different custom kernel:[/B]
Download the latest stock.4.X.X-boot.img
You [B]must[/B] flash the boot.img before switching kernels!
For AOSP/LOS/RR/etc users:
Code:
[B]If you are coming from another custom kernel:[/B]
You [B]must[/B] reflash your ROM build before flashing this kernel!
[B]If you are on AOSP/LOS/RR/etc and are switching to another custom kernel:[/B]
You [B]must[/B] reflash your ROM build before flashing another kernel!
Why is it like this?
I have included some ramdisk modifications that set the default settings for this kernel. When you come from a different custom kernel, the ramdisk changes from that kernel may conflict with the changes I intend to have. Likewise when you switch to a different kernel; my ramdisk changes may conflict with the changes they intend to have. When you flash the stock boot.img, it replaces the modified ramdisk with a clean one, removing these conflicts.
And it's here, get it while it's hot folks! First upstreamed kernel for the OP5
Thanks for joining the party :highfive:

gz on graduating! and thx for the kernel :=
Congratulations on the graduation buddy,
Just flashed and I had charging cycling on and off (using dash charger in car on freedom v1.1). Flashed EX and charging is fine. Need charge ATM but maybe a little later I can help you get a log.

Hmmm never noticed this... I guess the graduation drinks are getting to me. I'll re-upload a stable build without upstreaming as that's definitely the culprit.
What an amazing day for you (Congratulations!) and the OP5 community!
I was really loving and enyoing all your efforts you did for the OPO (Pure Nexus port) and the amazing Carbon ROM.

I'm the first to report so let's see if anyone else has the same issue. I will also try for logs later on though I do have a lot on today (so might be this evening).
I didn't actually reboot or get to try a different charger to help diagnose so don't want you doing more work that you need to for what could me my issue

I can confirm the issue because while I was bringing up the upstream branch I ran into this issue with dash charging and I thought I solved it. Time to debug!
Edit: link updated without the upstreaming, everything else still stands though

Seems to be a problem among a few custom built kernels, we're looking into it.

It's because OOS has a hal that already uses a switch for dt2w.
New update, still looking into the gestures issue.
However, Dash Charging is fixed on the upstream kernel so here it finally is! I also added a bunch of sched patches, a thermal patch, and some other misc stuff from the latest CAF branch.
