Just received Korean G3 400L, advice please! - G3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi,
Just got my G3 400L korean version today and wondering what I should do with it before using it properly and setting it up etc.
Should I put the UK version of the software on it, or are there any custom ROM's which would be better?
Any advice would be much appreciated, cant wait to get it all sorted!
Thanks

[Q] F180K Firmware Update and Other Problems

Hi all.
I've recently purchased an LG Optimus G (F180K) through an online reseller. The phone was unlocked and works on my local carrier. Please excuse me if the following problems have already been answered in other forums but this is my first smartphone (moving from a Nokia XPressMusic 5530) and I'm having difficulty understanding all this talk about flashing and basebands and what not.
I want to know how to update it to Jelly Bean since Android 4.1.2 has already been released for the F180K in South Korea. Software Update reports that I'm using the latest update available. I see that there are stock 4.1.2 ROMs available for the F180K in the forums. Would installing that be different from updating through official channels? Also, my lockscreen shows the dual roaming clock and I am unable to change it as the settings are greyed out when I check under Global Roaming. Does anyone know how to change this? I've searched around and someone suggested to manually edit settings.apk or something similar to that but I don't know how to go about it. Lastly, I want to get rid of the pre-installed Olleh apps and remove the Korean characters from the dialler. It would also be nice to get English versions of QVoice and the other LG apps.
I would really appreciate it if someone could walk me through these things. Thank you very much in advance.

First of all, 10m is your software version, not model number. The 10m just means you are on firmware version 10m. Seeing as you bought your phone in Taiwan, you most likely have an Asian variant such as the F400 or F400k. You may possibly have an international D855, but it's impossible to tell from your picture. Take your battery cover off and let me know what model number you see on the sticker under the battery. The same model number should be plastered all along the inside edges of the phone once the battery cover is removed as well. Like I said, it should be F400, F400k, D855, or something similar. Please let me know.
Thanks for your help. I looked behind the cover and its a D855. So when i search for compatible roms and stuff i should look for that model numer? Thanks for patience with ny ignorance man lol
Ok so thanks again for ur quick help. Ive done alot more reading now and im ready to root my phone, one thing ive had trouble finding is the stock firmware for my device if anything should go wrong or if i want to dl the OTA lollypop update i just received in the future. My current firmware is v10m-TWN-xx and i havr d855 16gb, i could only find the 32gb version. Would really appreciate it if someone lets me know where i could get the 16gb. Thanks guys!

? D855 Vodafone UK - BRANDED ROM (with Voda bootimage, etc)

Hi guys,
I'm going nuts soon...
This is my first LG device and I'd like to get it back to stock on Vodafone. Yes, I know - I should read and I DID.
What I would like to achieve is the full shebang with all the Voda bloatware and bootimage.
I looking for this for 5 hours now and done 3 full flashes but all of them turns out to be international roms which works fine but missing all the aforementioned stuff...
I have tried these from different xda and other threads:
UK Vodafone 16G D85510A_00 from storagecow.eu
D85520h_00.kdz from csmgdl.lgmobile.com
D85520T_00.kdz (with A6VFKG suffix) from devtester.ro
Could anybody provide me a link please to a UK Vodafone fully branded ROM for D855 please?!? :crying:
Thanks a lot!
BTW I don't care about which version it is - could be Lollipop or Kit-Kat!
It could be even Cupcake
Anybody?
desperately need it as I have to send the phone back for repair
Have you tried to use the official lg mobile tool?
Just select UK as country as Vodafone d855 as model

Thanks for the reply.
Yeah, I did and I downloaded the ROM as well but NONE of them has all the bloatware & boot animation
Anyway I gave it up and will send it back with the 20t ROM from LG site.
I have it if somebody interested as LG sent back the phone with that sh*t flashed on it

Which Version do I have?

So I bought the LG Optimus G E977 from Amazon. I dont know which version I have. (Brazil, Chile, etc etc). I dont know what determines that. I need the info so I can upgrade to Android KitKat. If someone can find me the official upgrade link, that would be greatly appreciated (I looked myself to no avail). Thanks in advance!!

hi guys,i know this is not such a thing to ask for..but when i usely going to buy a phone i do my reaserch and see all those comparision videos on youtube and check if there's any problems and issues with it...THE PROBLEM IIIS, when i first googled ''lg g3'' i start notice a commun issue that a lot of people having *BOOTLOOP* and it sems like there's no solutions or way to fix it. and almost
all models did have that issue...and a freind of min tells me to buy the international version ''D855'' and of course i search for it and i fund some d855 owners did have this problm too
PLEASE HELP! what model i should buy ?? or should i go with the D855!
ps: am from algeria (north africa)
thnx
About bootloop issue, there is none.Only some lg "G4" were having this issue and not "G3".
Those g3s you found having this problem would be rooted and running some custom roms or kernels.
So don't worry about it and get the d855 variant.

you don't need the d855 - just be sure to buy one that's already unlocked or unlock it yourself before you flash to a custom firmware.
you can get it unlocked for about 10$....or a bit over that. check out unlockcellphonecode.org/shop/network-unlock-codes/lg-sim-unlock-codes/lg-g3-network-unlock-code/
i got my g5 unlocked there in about 10 minutes.
