Hi there. Just wondering how I can replace the screen on my Note 2. The external glass is fine but there are two cracks underneath and fluid is leaking.
Thanks!
Look online for an lcd replacements and do it yourself or you can go to a corporate sprint store that has a service dept. and they can replace it for you for a charge. If you have TEP on your account for that line (Total Equipment Protection) you are eligible for repairs/replacement. Go to the sprint store and ask them for more details.

The outside glass is about 10 to 15 but the digitizer is around 150 to 180, and I could find a whole phone for that. And when I went to my Sprint store, they told me that they don't repair screens anmore and I would have to pay 200 to get it replaced through TEP, even though I have that.

Yes sprint corporate store don't repair crack or broken screen u would have to use tep to get a replacement @THE cost of $200.00 sometimes they do it for 75.00 if they feel like.
SGNote2
Sounds like you will have to either pay for an insurance replacement or possibly use that money towards a new phone if you have an upgrade coming soon. The Note 4 will be out soon. Hopefully you can use you phone for a bit longer and you have an upgrade...

Well, lucky me. my screen cracked (just the touchscreen, glass is fine). I do have the TEP plan. How does that work. I read and if I understood right, I can send for repair (how long would that take) or pay the $100 deductable and get a replacement? Is that right? How do i go about taking care of this??
If I decide to pay the deductable, would it be better to clam lost/stolen and get a replacement, then repair the screen myself when i can find one. or will the phone be useless in sprints system due to them thinking its stolen?
Thanks for the advice.
You will have to pay the deductible because it's physical damage. I doubt you'd be able to fix the screen yourself for less than $100. Also, once the phone is reported lost/stolen, it will not work on the Sprint network anymore.
Insurance claims should be sent out to you next day, but they currently don't have any instock and are 7-10 day backorder. Best bet is to pay $120 repair fee at the store as a repair store might be able to harvest parts for you. And if they can't, repairs/replacements should be getting priority over upgrades/new lines.
yeah how it works is you pay 7$ a month. and if you have to go through asurion (the insurance company) than if its a feature phone (basic crap phone) its a 50$ deductible. if its a smart phone (evo) its 100$
goto
www.phoneclaim.com/sprint, online is alot easier to file it than calling in. its usually overnight or 2 business days. Sprint does also have a 120$ fee and they will fix or replace in store if you dont have TEP. but thats all gonna be changing soon starting sept 1st.
well, called asurion today. got the 100 billed to my account (my worry wasn't paying the deductible at all, just, paying it right now), and they said 7-10 business days. luckily, enough of the screen is usable to make/receive calls.
should i bother unrooting the phone before sending it back in their envelope??
i would have done the repair since that wouldnt have cost, but none of the stores in my area are repair stores. and at least now i can use the phone till i get the new one. if i sent it in to repair, i would have been without the phone for who knows how long.
so ive recently dropped my phone, screen cracked, no biggie, so i take it to the sprint store that repairs it like i did the past few times, however this time they say they have no wide cable screens in stock to replace it. so i ask "When will you have it back in stock?" she says she doesnt know, so i ask "Is there a way i can have that ordered for my phone?" she says no and goes on a long rant about how another customer hasnt had his fixed for months and suggests me to a competitor that fixes phones. if i paid for the full coverage insurance and they cant fix my phone, what should i do to fix the screen? should i call customer service and demand a replacement free of cost because the company stopped making my screen? or will i be stuck with the 100 deductable

You could go to asurion I believe not sure. If you go to asurion you might a get a evo3D as a replacement
Sent from my Warm 3.5 Evo using XDA app
Ok I think you are a little confused. Asurion is your insurance company, which has nothing to do with sprint. If you already paid 100 dollars for the deductible, then you paid that to Asurion, and THEY should be sending you another phone, either a refurb 4g or a new evo 3d. They don't fix phones, they just send out whole phones.
Now, sprint will usually fix phones in their stores if you have TEP (which you do). Sometimes they will do it for free, sometimes they will charge like 25-25 bucks. But as you stated, they said they are out of those screens. So you can either try a few more stores, or go through Asurion (which it sounds like you already did by paying the deductiuble).
Broke my scren well actually it is completely F'd up.
Cant find anyone to fix it . I use my phone heavily for work
dont have insurance . First time this has ever happen to me so didnt think i needed
anyone know where i can fix it in Southern CAl near Fontana CA which is in the Inland Empire????????
Ive read many say $35 but keep calling corporate and they say no one fixes screens anynomore
EDIT: ANY SPRINT TECH REP IN THE IE OF SO CAL???
If you can't find a replacement screen see if you can find a cheap E4GT with a bad ESN and swap the screen.

Motherboard isnt damaged cause everything is working properly
here are a couple screen/digitizers i found but they arent all that cheap either (i got mine for $65 shipped):

I wish I could find one for around 75$ that's about all I'm budgeted for, I found this :
http://www.cellphone-repair-shop.co...g-black-sprint-galaxy-s-2-rear-battery-cover/
The have everything even the camera, but the prices everywhere are ridiculous.
bring it to a sprint store and agree to pay the 35 dollar fee and add insurance after wards and they will fix it for you if they have a spare one.
sprint techs are very helpful and usually fix cracked screen if person adds insurance.
i need to find a sprint store that has a technician first cause all the ones i have called say no also if i sign up for insurance can i cancel it the next month??
You probably could cancel it. I know down here a broken screen costs 30$ to fix with the sprint technician
Sent from my iPhone killer.
use ur location and check "repair centers near me"
http://www.sprintstorelocator.com/locator/
used that and the places it states in my area for repair locations i called them and they said they dobt do repairs in house it has to go through asurion
I just replaced my screen 30 minutes ago. Bought a housing off Ebay for $80 and replaced it myself. You just need a #00 phillips screwdriver and a plastic prying tool.
I'm up in NorCal, if you were closer I'd do it for you just for the price of parts.
-Daryel
If you know somebody that works for sprint we can add insurance for you them just run the claim for $100, then cancel the insurance. I would recommend insurance tho.

Dont know anyone personally that works at sprint.
I called my Sprint Rep since my account is a Business account i got my phone last oct or nov 2011 and she said the only thing she could do is hook me up with an early upgrade and get the same phone for $120 but that doing this would extend my contract. Dont want to do that first i want to see whats up with Sprints network and phone line up for this year.
Anyone that works at sprint that is in my area hit me up pm or something.

I saw 10 of them when I was looking for my replacement. Here's one for $90 as a buy-it-now. http://goo.gl/OqJZj
They seem to come and go all the time, I would look and see 3-4 and then 3 hours later see 10 or so. 3 hours after that I would see only 2. I missed getting a white housing for $80 (just something to change up my phone).
-Daryel
here's the thing. any kind of super AMOLED screen (epics, epic touches, nexuses) are going to be extremely expensive. im actually a lead technician in a preferred retailer store and know for a fact that corporate stores will not fix shattered screens. plus, we are not allowed to exchange the phone for another due to the amount of physical damage. THE ONLY way we can fix those screens is if you yourself come into the store with the part, or we are able to find parts for cheap. because there is such a shortage of each screen from reputable 3rd party dealers, finding a store to fix it for you isn't going to really work. REALLY should have gotten insurance.
if i did have insurance how much would it have cost to getting this fixed?
So does anyone know if there is a time factor for Asurion claims? My e4gt has had a cracked screen for sometime now and when I started a claim months ago I wasn't able to do it due to sudden financial woes... Anyways I would assume that I should still be able too do so, right? I mean I'm still paying for the insurance .. As of just a few days ago I bricked it... So a busted screen that no longer lights up except for the beautiful blue led seems like they may go together I would hope, lol! Anyone have any info on the replacements? This is my first phone with Sprint and before this I had cricket, you just paid 85 dollars and got your replacement right there...
If you have TEP I'd just take it into a repair center.
Asurions rule ia hat there has to be usage on the device your looking to get replaced within he past 60 daya. so if you swapped to an old phone over two months ago, Asurion wont replace it for the $100 deductible unless you put the phone back on. Try going to a cell phone repair store firat though. 3RD party non corporate stores have leeway if they have the parts. theres also some spots that just repair phones for a fee, regardless of insurance or carrier.

I went to a place called "CPR" Its cell phone repair... the guy told me around 300 w parts and labor.... He told me that parts for these phones are expensive. This was before it was bricked. He said the glass replacement and the digitizer and labor will cost that much... Guy is crazy! I think that's the only place decently close that I know of. But now the phone WILL have to be replaced now that its a paperweight...

He's quoting you mostly labor then because the digitizer assembly is less than $100 online and it's easy as pie to replace.
confused you trying to fix your glass or get a new phone. If you are trying to obtain a new phone then I suggest you go on Sprints website lookup repair centers in your area and take your phone there first. Give them whatever story you like and see what happens. Then and only then if you can not get them to replace your phone you can go through Asurion or try taking it to a Sprint store and play dumb....
Choices:
Sprint Store: $35 or free replacement
Sprint Authorized repair: Refurb phone in a day or two as long as you have insurance
Asurion: $100
The choice is Yours-----

Originally I wanted to get it fixed.. Its bricked now.. I mainly needed to see if anybody knew if there was a time restriction for a claim. I started one a while back but never completed it. I kept using the phone but I bricked it a couple days ago. Now that I have a backup phone to use I was wanting to get it fixed.. I will look at the rapair centers though. Thanks for the info!
Hey everyone! When I tried too purchase from best buy the rep told me to get BB insurance because there was no Sprint TEP for this phone. Anyone know otherwise?
Yes you do have TEP, $11 a month with $200 deductable. Don't know why he would say that unless he just wanted his numbers higher. Best buy $10 a month no deductible with 1-5 day turn around.

I bought my phone from bestbuy but activated through my Sprint account and it gave me the option to add TEP. Which I did of course (if at least for the first few months)

When did it go to $200? It was just $100. **** for $200, you might as well buy a new phone
Wow i heard it was going to be 11 but 200 deductable? Are they still going to do the advanced exchange?

I was told by Sprint Employee Care that deductible is $150 for this phone because it is less than $550 retail cost.
I just Googled it and it looks to be corect, $150 for both 16GB and 32GB models: http://www.phoneclaim.com/sprint/deductible

Confirmed. I just looked it up on Asurion's website.
150 is more but better than 200 I can deal with that if it gets stolen or water damaged

So I just checked my account and noticed that my TEP didn't roll over when I got my GSIII, called Sprint and had it added. Took a swim in the pool today with my new GSIII in my pocket, didn't notice it for about 5 minutes and then pulled the battery and dropped it in some rice, think I'm SOL on this one. So do I just take it to sprint or what, NOt sure how it works as I never had to use insurance.

If your phone is water damaged you can file your claim online. no need to go to the sprint store even, there not going to be able to do anything accept fill out the form thats on this site for you. phoneclaim.com The website is through asurion, sprints warranty and claim handler. If it were me i would just say i lost my sgs3. That way you dont have to send your Liquid Damaged Sgs3 back to sprint. It will cost you the same 150$ You can save the phone for parts or something. Wouldnt hurt to have an extra lcd front housing for the phone in case you ever dropped your new phone. You can pay for your replacement phone online with a credit card and they do overnight shipping is included in the 150$ price I believe. This is only what i would hypothically do and am in no way saying you should do this!
doesnt hurt to hit the repair center if you have some time. minor water damage is covered under TEP, and as long as there is no board level corrosion they should replace it at no cost. personally i think that a 45 min to a hour is worth the possibly saving a 150 bucks.
The battery water indicator turned pink but the one on the phone is still white. Does Sprint even carry the 32g model in store?

Proof?
I'm pretty sure even sweat and condensation are not covered. As soon as it turns pink, it's a deductible.
Especially when OP states he jumped in the pool. I'm pretty sure that's not minor.

This is only true if you have a nice repair center that works outside the rules. Water and/or physical damage immediately negates the repair portion of TEP and requires you to file a claim. My wife works for Asurion, it's one of the very first questions they ask.
Regardless our deductable is 150 call it in stolen so asurion doesnt have to see ur wet phone
