All of a sudden "Scanning Media Files" started running and is not getting stopped. Because of this issue, I am unable to access any files, use apps which need media access.
Tried hard reset, clean install in service centre no use, the problem is still continuing.
Please guide me in solving this issue.

To start off,
i would like to say im not some kind of paranoid freak who thinks the gov or ordinary people around me is spying on me.. lol
Im fairly new to this android world, and got this phone, less than a month ago. from a ... doubtful friend.
The phone always booted twice on startup, and it installed apps with out telling me like "Muted camera".,,which i caught probally by rebooting the
phone right after reset. and a error popping up, that the install file was invalid.
I rooted it (I think.. I rooted it.. or could be PRE rooted. Never checked) ,
checked system but couldn't find out anything useful..
i deleted all the dalek? cache and factory reset, formatted external sd in cwm
but still.. freaked out when i found out that my personal files.. such as photos videos were still present (was on the internal memory)
the external, was formatted..
so i got the lg firmware update on pc
put the kdz file,
settings were:
3g QCT & mode was CS emergency
ran it in Download mode.
Still.. this seemed to only reset the system settings..
the phone itself wasn't wiped..
However, after i reset it with kdz file
The security? error of some sort popping up between the two reboot, was gone. however the two reboot was still present,.
Before;
Turn on phone => security error, (in terminal typed ..interface with black background) => phone shutdown => boot again automatically => LG logo => turn on
After the kdz file recovery:
Turn on phone => Lg logo => phone off => on again automatically with lg logo => lg boot animation and normal booting
Now, my ram and battery usage is still abnormal.
resetted the phone in software os level, (in settings)
Nothing.. seems to help
any.. suggestions?;;
Hey guys just fot this tablet Monday, unrooted fresh out the box, it will download apps for a bit them get hung up and stop downloading and eventually show this error. Ive googled it and tried all the tricks that include clearing data im gp app/gp services/ framework. Unlinked my google account, rebooted etc.
2 strange things i noticed.
- my htc m8 on the same nerwork has never had these issues
-I haven't had this happen at my work network
I returned my tab S from Monday, now the new one does it too. I have a brand new Asus RT-AC68U beast of a wifi router. It briefly downloaded some apps once i took down the firewall, then errored out again...
I dunno what else to do i want to keep this tablet I hope someone can help.
Thanks in advance!
perhaps this workaround can help you:
on your pc you can install the chrome browser extension APK Downloader , then when you go to play store, you have an extra button download apk next to the app (all on pc in chrome browser) , once you downloaded the apk you can copy it to the tablet and install it.
Make sure that once you have copied the apk to your device you have enabled "unknown sources" in the settings or else it won't allow you to manually install an apk.
Whenever I have encountered an issue like this in the past I have Odin flashed the device to the latest stock firmware and then during the set up process, made sure that every minute detail entered is correct (or bypass google account installation and wifi connection and install them after the device start up).
Hmm thanks for the suggestions guys. Come to find out my m8 has this issue now so it must be router related somehow...
I too took down firewall of router, saved new settings, rebooted router, turned router off for 5 mins, turned it back on. Restarted lg g3 and then it worked for me. No more Error 495!
Hello to all!
I am recently facing a problem with google play. When i am opening the app it says server error and i cannnot do anything. I found many solutions which theynwere suggesting to clear cache, clear data, force stop, uninstall updates and restarting the phone. I did all of them. Nothing worked. As soon as i ooen google play it says server error and it opens the menu. I touch retry nothing happens.
My lg g4 is in stock rom and not rooted. Any solutions?
Thanks for your time.
How are you connected to the internet? Check your home network's firewall. Try connecting via mobile network.
I am using LG G3 D855 unlocked with Android 5.0 v21a-AME-XX (unrooted) in India. It had battery issue and was doing reboot loop frequently. So I tried to reset the firmware via LG mobile support --> Options --> Upgrade recovery and second time via LG PC suite --> Restore upgrade errors. After that the IMEI number of my handset has become null. I don't know how to restore back. Please help me as I have tried hard reset and factory reset. No use.
I am also unable to view the 'Software info' under settings as it hangs there by saying 'settings not responding'. USB OTG is also not working (tried with different pen drives).
Kindly help me.
If I take it to LG authorized service centre ( http://www.lgmobiles.com )
Try this to restore your imei
http://tips4droid.com/backup-restore-lost-imei-lg-g2/
No use
I am unable to access software info because something has happened to the firmware. The settings is getting hung and the phone restarts when I try to enter software info.
Can I take backup of the IMEI without rooting?. Your response didn't work as I am unable to access software info. Is there any other way?.
Hi guys, I'm just a begginer here. Rooted my phone just today, so please be patient with me.
Going direct to the point: I can access settings normally, but when I tap into Developer options the settings app crashes, and a message appears with the saying: "Settings stopped working".
Also, all the other google service apps are not working (google books, google movies...). Google Play Store wasn't working too, but after reinstalling, the issue was fixed. I had the "System UID's are inconsistent" but solved it as well.
What can I do? I've cleared all cache, including dalvik. Will resetting it to factory fix it? I really don't want to lose all my data. Please help me, I'm hopeless
EDIT: I forgot to say that I want to access it to do USB debugging in order to restore some lost data through FonePaw Android Data Recovery.
Deselect the 'Mount namespace separation' in supersu. And then reboot and try again.
