Is anyone having issues where the proximity sensor keeps going off when an object about an inch away blocks it?
No matter the screen I am on, if something is blocking it it turns the display off. Once the object moves away it turns back on.
This also it's fixed by restarting the phone

I've got a problem that when I phone my screen goes blank without waiting me to put it against my face and then doesn't come back on again without me having to push the power button.
Any ideas where to start looking. I'm using the standard stock 6.5 WWE ROM.
I believe it uses the ambient light sensor on the front of the device to determine when it is against your face. Make sure the sensor is clean and not hidden under an aftermarket case. The TP2 might also use the accelerometer to determine the orientation of the device, in order to complement the light sensor and better determine when you're holding it up against your face.
So I'd go into the settings and calibrate the G-Sensor as well.
Thanks will take a look at that.
Having an Issue with Proximity Sensor (Can only talk on phone with Keyboard extended)
I am having a proximity sensor issue with my Tilt 2. When the proximity sensor kicks in and the screen goes black, the person i am calling doesnt hear my voice. Only when I move the phone away from my ear or extend the keypad so the 'lights stay on' does the other person hear my voice.
What can i do to force the light to stay on even when its up to my face.
where is this sensor located on the front of the phone? I am wondering if my screen protector is causing it. I have no clue
Helo,
Same problem here.
Any help?
Hi pals!
I've been surfing this site for long time. I've had a lot of fun with all the different applications in here and now I've got a request.
I've found some applications for proximity sensor, I've seen those that turn off the screen when detect proximity. But I haven't found the one that turns on the screen once it detects the proximity again.
I'd like to put my Leo on the table and pass my hand in front of the sensor to turn the screen off and pass it once more to turn it on.
Anyone?
Hello,
Since lately, my proximity sensor has been acting kinda weird...
I replaced the camera PCB (where the proximity sensor, camera, headphone, etc. are located), because I thought my proximity sensor was broken (when I recieved a call, I couldn't hang-up(screen went black)). Now I've replaced the sensor, it became one weird thing. When I get a call, I can answer it, and leave the screen on (as long as nothing is in "reach" of the proximity sensor). But as soon as something is in reach of the sensor (cheek, finger, face, whatever), the screen turns black, and won't turn off until the other person ends the call.
I tested this with a app called Z-device test, and with the proximity sensor it shows me that when there is nothing in reach, it says there's nothing (like it should), but as soon as I run my finger across the sensor, it says something is directly above the sensor, and even if I remove my finger, it still keeps telling me this... What to do about this?
same here..almost
i'm experiencing the same problem...but with one difference...
when removing the finger, the sensor just needs some 5 to 10 seconds to detect that there's nothing in front of it anymore...
happend after flashing LeeDroid R5
Hey everyone!
My phone just started doing this today: During a phone call, screen shuts off when phone gets close to my face, as intended. But it doesn't turn back on when I pull it away. I usually have to pull the battery.
Downloaded an app to test the prox sensor. It shows a change when i put my hand it front of it, but never changes state when I move it away.
Any idea what could be causing this / possible fixes?
The display automatically turns off as soon as the proximity sensor is covered even when I am not on a call
Any idea on how to fix this ?
