Identity a converted m8 - One (M8) Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

So my friend purchased a m8 from someone that have converted to play edition.. however he wanted to go back to original.. the issue is that he don't know the original carrier of this m8.. anyway to figure it out.

When converting they changed CID as well. As you are S-Off you could change CID to one that pleases you and install the corresponding e.g. TWRP backup an firmware. After that you still could reflash custom recovery to be abled to obtain root again.

The CID belonging to MID 0P6B1600 (Rogers) is CID : HTC-332 Carrier : HTC LA Region : SPA (ES), as far as I found out.

I have an HTC AT&T version and it is htcdev unlocked , rooted , curently having Android Revolution on it. I am trying to remove the red text when i start the phone and gaining s-off with firewater but ... it doesn't work. Do you have any suggestions ?

lol does the end of the firewater say your phone isnt compatible? that might be a problem you know... if you really really want S-OFF you'll just use sunshine. cause supporting the dev's is a great thing.

nope that one won't work. you need a ruu with 114 in the middle or a nandroid backup with 114 in the middle ! or pay for s-off (if the device is supported) and convert it to wwe (x.xx.401.)

CID for the "regular" (non-Harmon Kardon) Sprint version is SPCS_001
Harmon Kardon version CID is SPCS_004
