Hi first thread sorry if its bad, im not sure if possible but im looking for a way to get cyanogenmod but i dont want to lose the features like smart stay, pop up play, sbeam, nfc, or the motions features. I use nova launcher and dont really care for touchwiz. I used cyanogenmod on my evo for years and got the galaxy s3, i want cyanogenmod back but i dont want to lose those features. Is there another rom that is basically the same but has the features? or is there a way to add the features to cyanogen through a kernel or add on? I could live without some of the features but that was partly why i got the gs3 instead of the evo lte. I would appreciate any help, app replacments, or even just a rom recommendation thats runs like cyanogen(battery life, speed, smoothness, possibly ctr animation, customization, google now) but has the gs3 features.

Hate to say it but its one or the other. There are smart stay apps in the store as well as pop up players, nfc is in CM and you'll lose all the motion features.

There's an app called Super Video that is actually more powerful than the popup player with stock.
Some of the motion tasks may be possible with an app like Tasker.
okay so i found the smart stay app and the video app and tasker, is there a way to get android beam i believe its called to run instead of sbeam?

That is in CM already

Just remember that Android Beam (at least the version for this phone) is less powerful than S-Beam. You can't send things like MP3s or photos, only links, contact cards, etc.

On a similar note, by losing the motion settings on the CM 10.1 nightly 28th June 2013 on Galaxy S3 International,
I am unable to calibrate the gyroscope etc and hence my Navigation (google) is suffering. Can that be fixed?
Also I am having issues in sending contacts via sms. My family members have old phones which only accept sms no VCF etc. No net. Its painful copying each and every contact detail into a text jumping back and forth.
If not, can you please guide me to a suggestions/complaints section for CM devs so that they may help me out?
You're in the wrong device forum, this is for Sprint only.
The Thanks button is just to avoid "THANKS" posts in threads. Nothing more. Don't defeat the purpose of why it was introduced.
I was given a E4GT from someone who doesn't use it anymore, wiped it, rooted it (using ODIN 1 touch method) and now I'm looking to use this phone only as a media device. I don't want/have Sprint service and would only like a rom to load up ICS or JB to listen to music on, youtube, reddit etc. Are there any roms like that? Any help would greatly appreciated!

You can choose any ROM you want. It doesn't matter if you have service or not. I assume your going to use WIFI as your connection. So just check them out in the Dev section.

Agree. Any rom will do the job. Just don't worry about the phone applications ( Can remove the apks for some of them for space wise) just find something that looks close to what your wanting. Toss it in Airplane mode, Go from there.
Thanks!
Thanks for the reply guys, went with Codename Android, used Nova Launcher to hide and Rom Toolbox to remove apps and now I a 32gb PMP. Only ever having Nexus devices It was a bit daunting reading about the many things that can go wrong flashing a rom without the proper safe recovery and having to use ODIN so much. Again, thanks for the help!
Good choice. I'm back on codename as of today for my daily. Short battery life be damned I have 3 batteries now!
I'll be getting a Moto X in the mail soon (I won it from Best Buy) but I don't want my VZW Galaxy Nexus to be a paperweight.
I was planning on using it as an mp3 player + camera + apps since my Zune was stolen :crying:
I know I could just flash an underclocked kernel, freeze/delete unnecessary apps, airplane mode/remove SIM and boom, Nexus Player.
But, I was curious if there was a dedicated ROM for turning the device into a standalone media player. Rather than just toggling stuff off, why not just totally eliminate them and have even more space + NOT have a status bar filled with an airplane/no signal/no SIM indicator? (I feel like it would bug me)
Thanks!

No all roms are made fully functional. Which is logical. I think you could bake one yourself. Plenty of guides. Good luck and keep us posted.

Hi there, am thinking of buying a Tab S...
Does the Tab S support Samsung Professional Audio (low latency audio) or not?
TIA,
S.
It appears not.....
Shame, as Android L implementation of Sound latency is still very poor.
Cheers, S.
Well haven't tested it yet but Samsung Professional Audio APk loaded fine. Not sure what app to test with though?

Samsung Pro Audio SDK is included on my Tab S with the 5.0.2 upgrade. (recently launched for Videotron in Canada)
I don't see Soundcamp in the Galaxy App Store though, and the Play Store version says not compatible with my device.
Using the latency test app from superpowered.com/latency, I am able to use the Pro Audio SDK and confirm I'm getting ~16ms roundtrip latency... so it's there it seems.
A few member here say that the free ViperAudio ia good, but installation is a bit more difficult on lollipop, never tried it my self though.

I remember reading this "Make sure your SELinux setting is permissive" for the equalizer, but as i said i have not tried it myself.

I consider V4A the best audio replacement for Android. Google should buy it and make it the standard. One person called it an eargasum and I agree. If your rooted then installing V4A is a must. With any of your video and audio apps you must turn off their internal equalizer or gain boost features so it does not conflict with V4A.

I assume you are referring to adjusting audio when a video's lip sync is not perfect? I just checked under the V4A "Expert" UI which presents the most options and did not see anything that suggested this option existed. I then checked MX Player Pro and did not such an option either.
Got a response from Soundcamp support about the Tab S, thought I'd share:
Dear ----------------------,
We really appreciate your interest on Soundcamp.
We have a plan to support Soundcamp on Galaxy Tab S, but the exact schedule was not fixed yet.
We will do our best to provide it as soon as possible.
Thanks for your interest again.
Best regards,
Soundcamp Dev Team

It's supposed to once Lollipop drops. My Tab S 8.4 upgraded to lollipop today but I haven't been able to get Samsung Professional Audio installed. This sucks as I really want to run Amplitube on it.

Pro Audio SDK should just be part of the firmware.
Soundcamp itself has a DAW and some music making tools, but it's really just a portal to pull together other effects apps. The other apps should work on their own. You shouldn't "need" soundcamp for amplitube to work.. i don't think?

True, but if it can run one, it can run the other (Soundcamp, Amplitube). Also, Amplitube can function as a plug-in to Soundcamp which allows recording and other features. Although Amplitube doesn't require lollipop, most of the Android guitar interfaces that IK Multimedia manufactures list it as a requirement (iRig 2, iRig HD-A, etc...).
Anyhow, I would love to get Amplitube up and running on my Galaxy Tab S 8.4.
Updates?
Has anyone got anything working yet? On my Galaxy Tab S 10 (lollipop), I can't get the official Soundcamp from the play or samsung stores. Presumably it's limited to the galaxy note 4 only? Anyways, I did find an old 4.X APK, which installed and works fine against the professional audio SDK that indeed is part of the lollipop firmware.
However, without any additional plugins it doesn't seem to be much fun. Amplitube's Samsung edition doesn't show for me either.
Is this going to be one of those "wait for Samsung" modes? At the least they could drop the device checks from their Soundcamp app, since it works fine on anything that implements the professional audio SDK.

I'm starting to think it's going to be more like one of those "never gonna happen" things. Bummer, as I really want to run Amplitube on my Tab S.
Should be launched for Tab S in the next month or so... if the rumours I hear are correct.

You have to download it now. Samsung music. I was just like you for a long time. Samsung ruined their music app due to only being able to recognize 10k songs. I now use musicolet. It's premium, free and way better. It recognizes all my songs too.
Go to galaxy store and search for samsung music.
There are other 'stock' Samsung app too such as email, clock for download
Awesome ty very much guys I've been with lg since the s6 edge disappointed me .......I've been using play music .....
