Hey. I need some help.
My phone doesn't pass the Google screen.
The device worked after installing JellyBam 6.6 and everything was great.
I turned it off after restoring few apps from TB, and then it didn't turned on to the ROM.
Before installing I wiped cache, devlik and data.
I can get to fastboot mod and from there to the recovery (TWRP 2.4.3.0).
Also I can use the toolkit.
What should I do??
It happend to my friend and he told me he wiped everything and installed stock,
but I don't want to format the internal storage as he did.
Should I just install the ROM again, backup and install another ROM?
Should I wipe system?
you restored system apps from TiBu, which is a bad idea.
reflash the rom/gapps then restore your data, but do not restore system apps.
I didn't restore many system apps.
I think only the clock, some app that I made as system one (Notification Toggle), the launcher,
Time zone and few minor things like thats.
Now I wiped cache, devlik and data again.
Should I just install the ROM now or should I wipe system before? (TWRP says it's inly wipe the ROM)
You have the rom in sd rite?
So just go to recovery abd wipe cache and data and system.
After that make a fresh install of the ROM. Let it boot up.
-Rik[Rittik]
doesnt matter. you restored system apps which can cause problems
wipe, reflash rom, restore only non-system apps/data

Just do a factory reset, wipe cache, wipe dalvik and flash the ROM then the Gapps and reboot. You may not even need the factory reset though. Try without it first.
Already did factory reset..
What is system reset and when I need to use it?
If it's wiping the rom, shouldn't it done before changing one?
OH, I just realized I deleted the ZIP file from my device.

I've never done a system wipe. But I assume it wipes EVERYTHING. Meaning if you do that, you better flash something right after so you have something to boot to. Otherwise it will never boot and you will have to hook it up to a computer and flash a stock image and start over. I dont know if wiping the system will wipe your SD card as well. If all you did was changes some system apps and data around then a simple re-flash of the ROM should fix it. If its not then I'm going to say that there is something else wrong.
I don't have to ROM.zip on my device.
Can I somehow do this using Fastboot Mode and my PC?
I tried with OTG and DOK but it's not working :X
boot into recovery and use adb to push the rom to your device.
adb push c:\yourlocationofrom\rom.zip /sdcard/
Okay, I did it, but I can't find the file..
It says that the file passed..
I did "adb push D:/JellyBam.zip \sdcard\"
Where did the file moved to?
OK, got it!
I tried again with upsided / \ and it works.
THANKS A LOT!
working
So I shouldn't restore any system app?
Not even data?
And what about SMS, data usage and stuff like that?
Apps that I made as system app (Like notification toggle)
Launcher??

It depends on what ROM you were on when you made the backup. Are you coming from a different ROM? Because thats when you should NOT restore system stuff. Thats like trying to add stuff to the system that is not meant for the ROM. It doesnt take that long to set up all your settings manually. I would just stay away from restoring system stuff with Titanium Backup. There are apps that backup and restore your sms messages in the Play Store that work well. What launcher are you wanting to restore? If you made any app a system app previously, I would just restore it as a user app and THEN make it a system app again. Dont restore it directly as a system app. And before you do anything, make a backup of your ROM so you dont have to go through all this again.
I restored few things, but Data only.
Now there isn't a problem.
THANKS again for helping
My HTC One X stuck on "HTC One's Logo" every time I try to format it,
so I restore my backup which works fine and when I tried to format it the same thing happened.
Whenever I try formatting my device it stuck on the logo !!
Please I need your help, what should I do with this strange problem ??
- Updated on May 26 -
Everything was okay one month ago and I was able to format my device normally but know I can't
I tried almost everything:-
1. I formatted my device then installed the ROM & Boot.img (and I was sure that it will not help)
2. I formatted my device from ARHD Aroma installation
3. I restore my ARHD backup then formatted my device again from CWM Recovery
Tips: formatting from recovery don't touch system partition, I'm sure
What do you mean by format? You mean from custom recovery? Factory reset from bootloader?
Maybe because you delete everything ? And without sytem it won't boot.

If you Factory reset a custom rom, it will bootloop! Because there's nothing to boot beyond the logo!
1. Flash the boot.img from the nandroid backup. Then fastboot erase cache
2. Now go to recovery wipe data/cache/dalvic and then restore the nandroid backup.
3. Reboot. Let the OS load completely.
4. Go to bootloader and then do factory reset.
If your still bootlooping, then download a nandroid backup from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1975140 and then restore it! It will work flawlessly!
If you post your main-version, then we can also find a RUU for you?!

But I tried this lots of times before and it format only user data, and system partition remain as it is.
I forgot to say that also when I flashed ARHD and checked "wipe data partition" in Aroma, the phone also stuck.

Ok. start from zero.
Download again ARHD.
format sd card
Put ROM in Sd
Put this one in sd: http://d-h.st/kG0 (t.y for vin4yak for link)
Put boot.img in fastboot folder.
via cmd (i recomend to copy cmd into fastboot folder ((it automaticaly gives acces to that folder))) adb reboot-bootloader
type fastboot flash boot boot.img (fastboot must be in usb)
wait
reboot in recovery. install super wipe (link given)
clear catche, dalvik
install rom
clear catche, dalvik
And IF! it still got boot loop, go to bootloader and repeat fastboot flash boot boot.img command via cmd. It should work.
And after all, if it doesn't, do a full nandroid restore.
Good luck.
Formatting does only wipe cache and dalvic, you should still be able to boot. It does not get rid of Rom. I do it all the time when flashing a custom kernel. So maybe you should try as suggested above.
from my Viped out one x
Command: fastboot erase cache after flashing boot.IMG will fix it I guess. Looks like none of you do that but I always do that and never, I say never had a bootloop. And I switch ROMs weekly with wipes and all.
Hope it helps.

His question had nothing to do with flashing a boot.IMG, I've never not fast boot erase cache either. He was asking why when he hits the format button in recovery, his phone won't boot. Format in recovery simply wipes cache and dalvic so it should still boot, just like when you format after flashing the modules from a kernel.

O sorry for the misunderstanding.
So basicly OP asks "i took the fuel out of my car, why won`t it drive?"
Depends on wich recovery then cause in twrp a factory reset wipes not only cache and dalvik for sure!
From twrp site: A factory reset wipes data and cache (which includes dalvik cache). A factory reset will also wipe sd-ext and android_secure if your device has those items

Thanks all for your help but unfortunately all in vain
Before a month I was able to format without any problem, but now I can't.
I tried almost everything:
1. I formatted my device then installed the ROM & Boot.img (and I was knowing that it will not help)
2. I formatted my device from ARHD Aroma installation
3. I restore my ARHD backup then formatted my device again from CWM Recovery
All these attempts but in vain, please I need your help essentially, I need to format my device as I was doing before.
I've got an AT&T M8 devices, and have installed the stock Kitkat version of Android on it. I found myself missing the (IMO superior) HTC camera app, and decided to flash either the stock Sense 6 rom or something based on it, like Android Revolution 5.
I booted into TWRP, backed everything up, and flashed the rom. When flashing was done, I cleared the Dalvik and Cache. The system then boots to a Google Logo with an unlocked lock at the bottom of the screen, and stays there until I do a hard reboot into TWRP. From there, I AM able to restore from backup, thankfully.
I thought I might not be waiting long enough for the ROM to do its magic, so I set a timer and let it stay on the Google Logo for a full 10 minutes. Still nothing.
I have tried this with the Stock Sense 6 AND the Android Revolution 5 ROMs with the same result.
Phone is S-Off. I'm coming from IOS for the last 3 years, so am probably missing something obvious, but can't seem to figure out what that is.
Does anyone have any ideas?
Thanks very Much.

Thank you for your advice. I wish I had better news...
I Wiped the parts you mentioned. Installed ROM. Cleared Cache and Dalvik using the TWRP button that shows after installation. Rebooted, and there was no different result.
Tried it with both ROMs. Same results both times, except the non-stock ROM gives up and reboots in recovery mode after about three minutes. The stock ROM just stays stuck at Google logo.
Restore from backup still works.
Any other ideas, folks?

Did you convert to GPE? If so you can't flash back to sense just yet
Also, check md5 of your download, might be corrupted

You have to convert back to sense. The gpe partitions are the incorrect size for a sense rom. Follow steps in post #2 in this link to get back. Next time just flash a gpe rom. The only advantage to converting is ota updates, which in a rom, they will update those too.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2708589
if you get lost let me know, when it says flash firmware, you have to use the "fastboot oem rebootRUU" mode that you used in the conversion

Thanks for your continued attention and generous efforts.
By "Boot into OS" do you mean simply reboot after the flash? I've done that and it shows the animated Google logo with the four squares of moving color. It seems to stay there for as long as I let the phone sit.
When does the Decrypt Error come into play?
Thank you!

Just to clarify.... after flashing ROM I simply "fastboot reboot". How long (approx) should I wait and watch the Google logo before I assume things didn't work? Is more than 10 minutes normal?

Less than 3 mins. If nothing change recoveries and start the process over. Try Virtuous rom fresh flash

Charlie, just curious, I'm happy with GPE conversion, but with your instructions are you saying that you reset the partitions back to sense? Or are you simply forcing the sense ROMS to use the GPE partitioning scheme?

I am going to sell my n7 to a friend and need to do a full factory restore keeping the rom have not going to stock.
I have paranoid Android with TWRP. I restored it and it didn't delete my photos and music. I have manually deleted these but what else does it not delete that I should take care of before I let it go??
Is there a way to start it FRESH no pics, but still be on my paranoid rom? What option should I choose in recovery?
I messed around last time and accidently wiped my os and don't want to do that again. Please help.
I'd do it manually. Use fastboot to erase everything, flash stock 4.4.4 firmware from Google, flash TWRP, boot into TWRP, use adb to push PA ROM to /sdcard, flash PA.zip in recovery, flash su.zip.
Or just leave stock 4.4.4 and let your friend decide which ROM to use.
I have a Mi 9 se and i don't understand how the partitions work on this device (coming from mi 5) If i wipe system or cache or formate data from recovery after first flashing twrp it reboots into fastboot and i need to do a full rom flash again via mi flash tool. Can someone please explain to me what the go is?
Ok so after more attempts. Obviously you need to let it boot the rom before flashing twrp, but wiping system causes twrp not to boot still, can someone explain? thanks.
Thanks
System is where android is installed. If you wipe this it can't boot into android because it's not there so it boots into twrp instead. What are you trying to do?

I do realise that but wiping system shouldn't be an issue as the new rom will install the system right? The issue is that wiping system causes it to reboot to fastboot not recovery and i can't get into recovery again without reflashing the rom from mi flash and installing twrp again.

Does it matter if system isn't wiped when moving between a MIUI based rom and an AOSP based rom?
@morgs640, it does: wipe is necessary. Some install-scripts contain a 'wipe system', otherwise you've to do it.
