Hi guys,
From now all my work will be on h_t_c_p_e_d_i_a, announcement of new roms or any other work from me will be on h_t_c_p_e_d_i_a.
So to be informed follow that thread.
Regards,
I'm missing the mobile network setting .. Menu => Settings => Wireless controls => Mobile network settings and de-select “Enable always-on mobile data”
It keeps my connection always on ...
Cheers for a great rom
Nice to see a plain android rom from you Lox, but why 2.0 and not 2.0.1?
and is the camera the only thing that doesnt work well?
htnx for the rom
Downloading and flashing asap. Thx.
First feedback:
Crazy fast and only 45Mb!!!
A must! I love it. But havn't made deep tests
seems pretty good and stable to me.
thanks lox
It's possible to enable App2sd ?
looked very nice at first until it tried to sync to google (no more contacts) so i needed to reflash and then backup first :///
well, while i was looking if everything else is fine (which is, but a couple speed problems here and there) i got a FC com.android.media (?)
No idea what i did else than setting up alarm...
at the moment i am rebuilding my contact list with mybackup and further testing..
nice job
would like to see sense?
I hear a lot people havinf Fc. i'm using the rom for 4 hours now and didn't get one FC at all. its a great ROM really fast and its more stable than the AOSP 2.0.1-r6.
Its Fast, responisve and so far the best 2.0 Rom for the hero. Lox you did a great job. soon a donation will come your way .
The new album looks great it works fast and i like it, first Run is really slow and you have to wait a while to let it creat thumbs
@TobenderZephyr plz no Sense
i got a FC with google maps, but after uninstalling and re-installing it is fine
Lox is there any chance of seeing standard 2.0-2.0.1 analog clock which I've seen in droid? Cause it's the only thing I really miss in this fantastic rom. Great work!
Experienced a bug methinks. I was listening to music through a jackplug to a stereo system just now, and the screen went "black", but no lock afaik.
And then someone called me, while i was listening to music. I was in another room not bothering to pick up. When i got back to check who called, the screen was black, and i could not do anything. I pressed the home key, and nothing. I had to take out my battery and restart the phone to get it working.
Oh, and i was also charging the phone.
So, listening to music with a minijack plugged in while charging and getting a phonecall = crash.
ill try to reproduce when i get back home.

KaguDroid 1.0 (version beta)
This Rom is built from Android 2.0 sources, with my own customizations that make it the KaguDroid Rom. I find it really stable for a beta release, at least, for me, it is usable everyday. And many more really great things will come in next versions!
Nandroid backup and wipe before updating

Maybe lame to ask but what are the know problems and what are "your own customizations" ? or what is different from this one
Anyway nice to see another ROM from you again
Very nice job Lox, this is definitly the first fully usuable 2.0 rom on Hero.
I'd recommand it for those who don't care about the sense UI.
Bluetooth file transfer
Is it possible to transfer files from one phone to another on this 'what sounds like an excellent' rom. Tried to on previous hero eclair roms with no success. Looking forward to flashing this rom but this would be one of the major reasons I would ditch my MoDaCo 3.0 rom.
Keep up the good work Lox.
Do you have any plans to make your source code available on GitHub (or even to share it at all) like Cyanogen does?
Ok, so i managed to reproduce the bug. If you listen to music and someone calls, your phone crashes and locks up when the call goes to voicemail or if the caller stops/hangs up.
*edit *
Just did a second test with spotify. The lockup did not occur with it. Just the internal app then i guess.
Also, a question about general functionality in android 2.0+ roms. How do i go about and disable Edge/3g traffic? I could do this in the stock rom by going into wireless settings and untick the "use mobile network when wireless is not available" or something.
It seems this option does not exist in this rom? Or any 2.0/1 roms?
Am i mistaken?
If i am, or if there is such a choice, where do i find it?
(it causes big phone bills on my part :\ )
Good work, Audio over bluetooth not working (I paired it with ES350 but I hear nothing!)

Just install APNDroid
Update: to enable bluetooth pairing do this in a terminal
$ su
# chown 1002.1002 /data/misc/bluetoothd
Now not only blueooth pairing starts working again but bluetooth music works too
I've pushed my VaniljFroyo modfications into dzo's repo so there is no VaniljFroyo anymore.
The official thread is here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=710105
The latest build can be found here: http://sourceforge.net/projects/androidhtc/files/
Instructions
1. Get the latest build.
2. Rename it to androidinstall.tgz and place it in the andboot folder.
3. Install system.
4. Boot the system.
To gain an extra 11Mb of RAM on Kaiser or Polaris, get the kernels I've posted here: Get the kernel from here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=7079594&postcount=299
Vogue users can get this with the latest official kernel from dzo (2010-07-06)
-----------------------------------
Old stuff below
This is basicly dzo's latest Fresh Froyo release with some minor adjustments.
With latest I mean the latest version available as I write this which is this version: http://sourceforge.net/projects/androidhtc/files/system-froyo-01-07-10_18.tgz/download
Download: http://sourceforge.net/projects/androidhtc/files/2010-07-02/VaniljFroyo_RLS2.zip/download
RLS2
- Market now works (Thanks mssmison and Incubus)
- Slight QVGA adjustments to the drawer phone keypad.
- Added google maps framework (needed by apps that uses maps)
- Added Facebook and Twitter from FRF85b just because there was room left
- Removed nonworking MagicSmoke live wallpaper
RLS1
- Wifi support
- QVGA adjusted bootanimation, backgrounds, DeskClock app and Music app.
- Added bash
- Added a bunch of nice scripts that I made for VaniljEclair.
- Added compcache support.
Get a terminal from Market, then use the following scripts (always do an su first):
enable_compcache.sh - Enable compcache (use the command free before and after to see the difference)
disable_compcache.sh - Guess what it does?
wifi_level.sh low|medium|high|extreme (medium is the default, low does not work for me)
default_network.sh
hsxpa.sh
gprsclass.sh
lcd_density.sh
But you propably won't need to change anything but I recommend trying with and without compcache. It propably helps a bit.
Oh, and the odex.sh script is included and can be enabled from userinit.sh, just like with VaniljEclair RLS7 it takes care of upgrades and uninstalls on the next restart of the phone. Not sure really how it affects performance but since odexing the system apps gives a noticable boost it can't hurt.
Don't expect everything to work flawlessly and have fun!
You may want to try another Launcher like the very nice Launcher Pro that is available for free from the Market.
If cyanogen says this about running Launcher2 (which is what we have in Froyo) on HTC Dream/Sapphire(magic)
* Launcher2 (too clunky for these devices)

then I think we have a good reason to try other launchers aswell.

Haha, I just update to release 7c of VaniljEclair and you tease me with this....
Just to clarify, when installing or updating new apps, we have to run odex script?

And so now I am running this and so far, no real problems. Make and recieve calls, phone syncs contacts, camera works reasonably well. Sometimes I am getting lines when snapping pic, but actual pic is fine with no lines. Only camera issue is trying to adjust zoom gives a FC.
Looking at apps now to see whats available. So far :2 thumbs up:
EDIT: Installed Astro to try and install some backed up apps thru Astros's backup function. Checking off the app I want to install and hit "install" button; Message says nothing is checked to install. Was able to navigate to backup folder directly and install app (Battery Widget.) Hitting OK caused Astro to go blackscreen. I'm thinking this is an Astro issue, not Froyo.
Wait.... hang on, I mean already? Dammit I told you I was gonna have to tie you to a chair if you made any major updates......
Aaaarghhhhh
Lol, I really want to try this now, but I already decided I was gonna do some gps stuff this weekend.......
What the heck, I can always use my old diamond if I really get stuck for a phone, Downloading now, ( and how do you find time to keep up with all this?).
nice i will peep some stuff out
what works and what doesn`t
can somebody share what works in this build and what are the major bugs `cause i installed vaniljeclair just an hour ago having some battery issues but thi is android after all and it rocks ... keep up the good work dude

I was able to get the normal English keyboard by disabling the "Japanese IME" in Language and Keyboard settings. Not completely sure about stability yet but it seems to be working as expected now.

GPRS
Great work kallt_kaffe! Fast and stable build! I hope there shall be a fix for the market .
On first boot, there is no usual setup wizard, and I like that way, but somehow my phone wont connect to GPRS, I have no data connection. Phone is working. Seemingly it recognised my Network APN settings, but still, there is no connection. Can someone help me, please?
incubus has posted a market fix for his froyo thread.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=712310
I am sure it should work for this build as well as they are both based from dzo.
Great work Kallt . OS with newest NBH from dzo works f**kin awesome fast in comare to Eclair. But Still same issue like in Eclair RLS7b/c with bonus. On RLS7b/c I cannot call only on GSM, on FroYo cannot call on GSM/UMTS (on PolyMod 2.1d/g all works fine )
Thanks again for Your hard work
here is a few of my findings so far...
betterterminal FCs
getprop fix from vaniljeclair doesn't fix it.
wifi is not connecting...(probably need to run script but having trouble without a terminal)
would like to see contacts and dialer that is used in eclair version.
other than that it looks very prommising....
for now I will keep vaniljeclair in nand and try to play with froyo on partitions.
Installed now, plus Incubus Market fix, which required a fresh install, since I merged the update with the installer tarball, it does find more apps, but is still not quite finding all my previous favourites, ( how can I survive without Facebook, or tapatalk?).
It is faster, or feels faster at any rate, looks nicer too, settings is less cluttered, and easier to navigate, I will have to give it my usual road test, but so far it looks like a winner

FOR MAKING TALK2 WORKING
Changes: (1.32 Chnagelog)
1) Video Calling SGS1 Talk is now POSSIBLE!
Known issues:
1) text messages apears with random delay when Video is on (chat wo Video have no lag)
changing screen orientation seems to push the text to screen
2) microphone on/off togle is not working
3) video that is transmited has very low fps
4) while voice call only app uses external/loud speaker - bug or not that is how it looks

After NexusS and SGS2 (plus i gues android 3.* devices)
it is SGS1 time to take benefits of Talk A/V feature
Package includes:
- script deleting Talk.apk, Talk2.apk(if exists) & libtalk_jni.so(if exists)
- script copying 3 new files
- script setting permissions
- /system/app/GoogleServicesFramework.apk - version 2.3.5 extracted from SGS2 KG3 firmware - safe to use
- /system/app/Talk2.apk - talk app 'touched by' theo (based on SGS2 - KG3 firmware)
- /system/lib/libtalk_jni.so - needed by Talk A/V to work (also from SGS2 - KG3 firmware)
WHAT WORKS?
- audio/video to/from SGS1
- wifi/3g (if your network supports-mine does) calls
- front facing/back cameras - switchable during video call
- portrait/landscape mode
The QUESTION: give as much feedback as possible
Have you spotted any issues? If so please describe in details the problem along with your specs.
what's the difference to talk A/V ver. 1.3?
1.3 worked with all devices who had this version why there should be a difference to 1.33?
will try 1.33 and report!
i belive that on earlier versions "SGS Talk client" apeared to the other side (other devices running Talk2 as NexusS, SGS2, GalaxyTab and so on, as a "Speaker"
Therfore video calls to SGS1 was not possible. Now it is corrected and 'You' are displayed as a "Camera", so can recive video calls from other devices running the officialy updated Talk app as well as other 'community updated Talk apps'.
So the question is: are other devices seeing you as a Camera (not PC gmail client, because that always worked) and can You recove vid calls from them.
hmmm strange with version 1.3 posted in these forums some months ago I was indeed listed as speaker but it was possible to get called by other sgs1 and even sgs2 and it was possible to call other devices. I just had to activate "accept audio and video" in menu.
oh ok so that is the icon fix i guess
we had reports that 'other devices' see speaker and can not videocall sgs1,
guess they did not tryed to infact call the person 'with speaker' =)
did the app youve mentioned got the both cameras working in portrait/landscape modes ?
lol very nice....^^
1.3b no_wifi_ffc was the older version i talked about.
When u start the app just press on ur name and a pop-up appears where u have to activate audio and video. After that there is still speaker symbol but u can use video and audio par excellence.
Never theless I tried ur app. The function that u have to press on ur name to activate audio/video as described above is gone and audio/video works from the start and symbols are indeed fixed now.
Just to help some ppl here^^
Edit:
Never tried rearfacing camera so I can't tell u and as I remember it only worked in horizontal but if u want I can install older one again to test.
greetz
no need i would do that by myself =)
btw. it is theos0o's app (the 'tweak the skypeguy') - i just do the testing/marketing
And another hint. Just made audio/video with girlfriend who has older 1.3b. She is listed as speaker in the new app but when I press on speaker audio/video works aswell.
and you were able to call her on 1.3b version correct?
yes I was able to call others when I used 1.3b and I was able call her few minutes ago with new 1.33 version(even if the other device had the older version)
And I was able to get called on 1.3b and 1.33b now.
So I guess the ppl who said that it doesn't work just didn't know that in older version u have to activate audio/video manually and that, even there's a speaker symbol, it works fine
ok, so infact this is the icon tweak for you and for the other side from speaker do camera =)
and what about the landscape mode, was/is working?
rotation IS definitely working!
Icon tweak....hmmm not rly my own symbol is shown as camera - yes and opposite sees my symbol as camera - yes but contacts in my list using the older version are stated in the new app as speaker, but nevertheless audio/video to these contacts works.
If rotation WAS working in older version I can't rly tell u cause never used or don't know anymore. As I said I could test it or u just install the app. I can send it to u if u want.
they will be listed as speaker because they use unfixed version
Do you think this would work on the Droid Charge?
do a cwm backup first
and MANUALY copy Talk2.apk & libtalk_jni.so first and check
then maybe GoogleServicesFramework.apk if it is not working
Okay, I will try this later tonight.
What permissions would I need to set on those files?
Secondly, does this properly use the ear speaker and not the back external speaker?
I have found (rather frustratingly) that may sip and voice apps simultaneously send sound to both the ear peice and the external speaker, which makes for a very echo laden and non-private call.
Csipsimple has an advanced option that fixes this for galaxy phones, but Groove IP and Sipdroid do not
I just had a large brain fart. This package assumes I am running a gingerbread kernel and/or rom?
permissions?
- just reboot to cwm recovery and make fix permissions there - should fix all problems with permisions and ownership on files
speaker?
- well when youve got earpiece (at least one that came up with phone) connected the speaker is not working
- while normaly it uses back speaker - as it should - front would be incapable of handling such loud sound, at least for not for long. front is made to conversations 'in the old fashion way' =)
heh but ive found lil buggy, microphone togle is not working =) at least for me
package is not assuming anything =) just deletes files, copies new & sets permisions as they should be seted in i9000 - thats why i am not sure those would be safe on other phones
Hey guys I recently installed Liquid Smooth Kitkat (see below for version) on my Wind Mobile S3 T999V
Needless to say, switching from JB 4.3 stock I notice massive performance increase. Rom is a nightly but seems very stable, camera works, even tried skype without issues. I love it! I have a few questions about kitkat though:
1. I am not able to install additional languages is this a known issue? I am able to change default to say russian and then I have a little globe show by the keyboard to change to latin but no spacebar swipe that I used to have.
2. I am not able to add contacts to phone's local storage, it only goes to google account, which is very irritating, after I imported my contacts now google has access to all my contacts and it sucked out FB contacts too :_(((
Any one know of a way to store contacts locally so I can delete google contacts?
Thank you!
Also thanks to Liquid Smooth team, for helping reinvent my phone )
( LS-KK-v3.0-2014-04-03-d2lte (162.4 MiB) )
Galaxy S3 T999V
CWM 6.0.4.5 Touch
1. You could try other Keyboard Apps from Playstore if need be. Swiftkey seems a choice.
2. This is default Android behavior. You can also switch to storing on the Sim Card if needed.
Custom Ringtone/Notification
Hi Thought I would post my liquidsmooth issue here as well.
I select a mp3 to use as a ringtone by going to settings -->sound and select es file explorer to find the mp3. Doing this does not seem to change the sounds for long and not for all apps with the notifications.
I end up having to go into each app (ex. email and going to the sound settings in the app and selecting the mp3)
This is only a temporary fix however as when I reboot the setting for ringtone and notification look like gibberish or have a unknown name and the the default ringtones and sounds play.
Not sure if this is a es explorer problem or something with liquid.
On build 4-6
Thanks in advance
was able to add languages
Just wanted to update everyone that I was finally able to add a language (UI is a bit tricky)
You have to go into Android Keyboard Settings (AOSP) for english
then touch Input language and uncheck "Use system language"
then check languages you want.
it doesn't allow for swipe but you can press and hold on the space bar to get this to work, it's usable
Cheers,
As for the contacts issue, still researching but wasn't able to find a solution yet.
GPS Issues anyone?
Update 2:
I let the OTE updater update the rom to 2014-04-09 and it went very smooth.
So far Rom is pretty solid, I love the notifications that pop on locked screen and can be deleted without unlock. awesome.
Have had some issues with GPS using RunKeeper app, it seems to hang in the middle of a hike. I updated to latest RunKeeper today will try again.
Let me know if you're on the same rom have any GPS issues.
*Update/Edit* I've been informed that this radio mod is still possible to do (as of December 2022) however you will now most likely need root privileges for Shortcut Master to access the necessary hidden menus. /Oops Edit pt2. Props to @aospray & @br0adband for revealing this new hurdle & bringing it to my attention.
Greetings all. I am sharing this brief little How-to Guide for anyone that wants to expand the functionality of LG's FM tuner to include the ability to Record directly from the FM radio. You will have the option to record only songs using the apps hidden "Record Music Only" option, or you can record a stations full broadcast including commercials and on air talk.
First a quick side note:
*Since different variants of the V30 include the LG FM radio App while others include NextRadio and so on, for the sake of brevity I am going to assume anyone reading this already has LG's FM radio app on their phone and it is functioning. Depending on your Variant, ROM, and a couple other factors, this may not be the case for you, but maybe you are reading this and now you want this expanded functionality so you will need to download and install the FM radio app if it is not preinstalled on your device.
If you you need to add the FM radio app to your device, you can check out this thread by @rustypie below with some different dl links and a flashable zip made by @syndre or do some searching on the forum as well as on apk sites and I am sure you will find the right method and APK for your variant. (I am using the regular download of the newest version of the app that I dl'd from apkmirror)
https://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-v30/themes/lg-fm-radio-app-download-verizon-v30-t3689294
What you need:
- LG V30 (any variant, or any phone that can run the LG FM radio app)
- LG's FM Radio Application installed on your device ( I am using 7.10.8 on my device, but I had this working on the older versions of 7.0.16 and 4.70.9, so it should work regardless of which one of the apps work on your specific variant/device)
https://www.apkmirror.com/apk/lgelectronics/lg-fm-radio/
- Shortcut Master (Paid or Lite version)
https://www.apkmirror.com/?post_type=app_release&searchtype=apk&s=shortcut+master
I am including pictures to make this easier for people, so please check them out to aid you in getting this accomplished.
Step 1 - Open Shortcut Master and use the menu at the top right to do a search. After you click search, make sure your select "all apps" from the drop down menu so that it searches your whole phone. Search for "FM Radio".
You should see similar results to those in my attached picture. You are looking for the entry with subtext of "com.lge.fmradio.recordactivity". Click on this and press launch.
*You may want to click "favorites" or "homescreen" to make this easier to access in the future. The app will not retain this preference after use and will always revert back to the version without recording functionality, so having a link in shortcut master or on your homescreen makes it easier to get back to .
Step 2 - Pressing launch in Shortcut Master should have opened your FM radio app. You will now see two things that were not there before. One is a record button on the main screen of the app, and the other is in the recording settings menu in the menu of FM app. If you want to record exactly what you would hear on the radio, simply press the record button and let it record. If you want to record only music and not the commercials and djs, go into that new recording settings menu and enable "record music only".
That's it, You are now able to record all you would like until you close the app. Next time you open the app it will revert back to the old UI, so you will have to repeat the steps if you want to record again later.
Enjoy

Interesting. Never thought to "report" my own thread. About a year ago, I created a guide on the US998 Hidden Menu which I accidentally started in the Q&A section instead of the Guide section. Still bugs me when I run across it.

Same who may use FM radio.
It's free, doesn't use mobile data plan. In emergencies when WiFi and cell phone outages may occur, FM radio can still be there.
Hi, wow, great find. Sometimes I am listening and I will hear something that I want to download but I know I will forget it by the time I get home.
The "record only music" feature is a bit limited though although clever.
If music is already playing it just says waiting for music so you have to wait for that track to finish, then it has to recognise talking (somehow) before it will record.
If you do not check and miss the "waiting for music" message and the track just started then you wont get it recorded.
Even so, click to record is really useful for me.
@Biswarup801bk17: why would you want to know that? tut, tut...

If you do not check and miss the "waiting for music" message and the track just started then you wont get it recorded.
Even so, click to record is really useful for me.
@Biswarup801bk17: why would you want to know that? tut, tut...

Just Curious
This is neat, just to play around with. The one thing I can't figure out, though, is why does only THAT shortcut app show the recordActivity? I've tried at least 10 so far, including Nova Launcher's built-in activity launcher, and all of them only show FM Radio's introActivity. What strange magic makes his work?! the lite version's limitation is not being able to save that activity as a homescreen shortcut.

Because Shortcut Master will access even hidden menu shortcuts. Stuff you're not supposed to see.
Fantastic, it works with with my LG V10 from Tmo!!!
It can finally record!
Would it work with other brands like HTC too?

Shortcut Master is definitely one of my favorite apps. That said, you can seriously mess your phone up though. Like really badly. Just a warning. And not like the usual just in case kind of warning, but a legit guarantee that if you go poking around enough you almost definitely will screw something up that you may need a restore or full redo to fix.
I had considered starting a Shortcut Master thread, and half heartedly did a while back, but I called it something like LGV30 tweaks and mods discussion. I didn't follow up with a shortcut Master section just out of fear a hundred people would ruin their phone but maybe I'll start one now if there is interest, since the Pandora's box is already kind of opened with it being part of most of the V30 guides I've done.
There is a surprising amount of stuff that only this app seems to get to. The paid version is well worth the buck ot two just for convenience sake and I'd normally say buy it to support further dev, but I think the developer is retired as I haven't seen an update or anything new in a while other than him taking the lite version off the play store last year, but still worth supporting his previous efforts.
Shortcut Master is great for accessing the hidden system menus such as your APN presets and all of the sections of the phone that are blocked off of the specific build your on.
Some of my faves are:
The hidden section of the systems built in Call recording screen.
-For anyone that modified their LGIncallUI to allow recording, this setting will let you track specific numbers or tell it to record all calls.
The extra hidden menu items that Sprint trys to get rid of.
(You'll notice in the pics there is the Hidden menu, and the carrier hidden menu. The Carrier one has access to a bunch of stuff removed.)
Your built in Bluetooth settings page that LG for some reason doesn't allow you to access.
AT&T's video call settings (these don't actually VCs work on Sprint)
And quick access to the Radio Info section
I'm attaching a couple pics for anyone that may be interested in some of what I just mentioned.
But one more time, you are all seriously warned! Know that you will mess your phone up just aimlessly clicking around.
I legitimately ruin my phone at least once a week and have to do a full reflash or restore. I am actually past due for one now, as I've managed to screw up something and now my settings force close when I try and enter developer options. So again, you are WARNED!
Have fun.

It should work with any device that can already run the Radio app since it's all built into the app, and is just hidden. So if you were able to get the apk to install and work on your HTC I don't see why it would not.
If you have issues you may be able to use "XML a road to vendor apps" module ( I think that's what it's called) on your HTC to get it to install the LG Radio app. Just a guess though.

Who uses FM radio recording today?

Most phones meant for market outside the US have FM . This feature was removed or turned off by US carriers to enable users to use data to maximize their profit. As a preference it is a feature I put into consideration when purchasing a smart phone except if I have no option despite the fact that I have unlimited data. I just refuse to accept that I have to use data to listen to FM stations around me. I do not consider a phone as an upgrade when a carrier or or a manufacturer remove basic functions from the phone.

Same who may use FM radio.
It's free, doesn't use mobile data plan. In emergencies when WiFi and cell phone outages may occur, FM radio can still be there.

WELL SAID !! :good::good:
Has anyone had this not work because it appears to require root? I realize that there's no mention of requiring root at all in this thread, so I decided to give this a shot on my V30 just now. installed the latest LG FM Radio app (7.10.8), installed Shortcut Master (paid, forgot I even bought it in the past, go figure), and followed the instructions as written but of course - and my V30 is not rooted at the present time - it's telling me it requires root to even start the FM Radio app with the shortcut (using Launch).
The FM Radio app works fine, but whenever Shortcut Master calls it I get the following so if anyone has any tips to get it functional I'd appreciate it, thanks.
ps
I did a complete clean install of US99820h on my V30 earlier today and for some strange reason now when it's in Hi-Fi DAC mode (I have ~50 Ohm headphones) I've apparently lost the single-step volume control, dammit - now it's jumping 5 steps each time, 35, 40, 45, etc, instead of 30, 31, 32, and so on. Funny how a clean install can sometimes break so many things, eh?
Later Edit:
The reason I'm having issues with the single-step volume is because I'm using Button Mapper so I can skip audio tracks using the volume buttons; it's overriding the defaults of the volume controls for the most part. It has some advanced options to disable the functionality when the volume panel is showing onscreen (meaning I get the single-step control again but the first tap skips 5% regardless), and with the screen off it doesn't provide any single-step control whatsoever, kinda crappy but that's how it goes. I wish phone makers would just include the option to skip tracks with long presses by default, make it an option you can enable. BLEH.
Final Edit:
I decided to do a clean everything last night, started totally fresh, from scratch, and do everything one step at a time, got it all working just fine and with Magisk 19.2 installed I was able to get the recording aspects working too with the LG FM Radio app so, I'm good to go.
From your last edit, you are rooted now? Was that the solution?
