Ok, so ive been trying to find an app that can automatically turn off my phone at night because its just wasting battery being on,but i obviously havent found one(if anybody knows one pls post link) anyway i was wondering if there was anyway to use tasker to automaticaly turn it off with a command in terminal emulator or somthing similar. The reason for this is that i want to go to sleep with music on and then have thr whole phone turn off at some point in the night, not just a music sleep timer thanks in advance if anybody can come up whit an idea, thanks in advance

Good morning,
I recall that on WM6 B&B 4.0 i was able to turn off the screen and still be able to hear music or talk on the phone etc...
However and after my upgrade to 4.1 everytime i turnoff the screen the sound, phone etc, will just stop working... is there any way, aka tweak-hack, that will allow me to do this again, or was this a bug that was not suppose to happen??
Thanks in advanced.

do your use Audio Manager Plugin to play the Music?
If so, press a Control Button in the Today Plugin once the Music has started
(i.e. Pause and then Resume)
Then it should work.

Downloaded this:
http://freedownloadplus.softonic.com/PDA/HTCAudioManager_Softonic.zip
and inside the zip there is a audiomanager.exe substitute for the file inside /windows/ and now there is no need for touching on the today screen, both today and normal program work on standby mode.!!!!!

There are plenty of apps that perform this and much more, I use G-Profile, this can be configured to turn the phone (GSM part) off (ie put in Flight Mode) at specific times of the day on specific days.
I have mine to put the phone in flight mode at around midnight each night, and then turn it back on again in the morning, I have two sets of these, one for during the week and one for weekends (like to get up later on the weekends )
This app is completely free but if you like it you can donate to the author, there are other apps like this some of them free some not.
Have a search through these forums and you will find quite a few.
Cheers

I use phonealarm, mostly becuase it as an option to run hidden behind TouchFLO. It will also change setting son Location/appointments/time I think a few other triggers. You have to pay for it, but I find it really useful. www.pocketmax.net
Thank you guys. I'll check them out.
Hi,
I have a question about sleep mode or whatever you want to call it. I am sure that you figured out that i am new to Android and the Desire (only had it for 4 days now).
I remember reading somewhere here but I cant find, someone asking if it were possible to bring the phone out of standby or sleep mode whatever you call it, other then pressing the power button.
I would like to know is there an app that allows this for "stock" Desires? I am not running any other types of ROMs. I am still too new to this all.
If anyone knows. I would appreciate it. Thanks for putting up with an Android & Desire Noob.
WidgetLocker can do that but it will replace ur standard lockscreen. I can recommend the app btw...
Thanks elburna I will try it out and see how I like it.
Since i don't know where to find any take help forums here in xda(if there is any), I'm going to ask my tasker question here since mo phone is a galaxy s3. So here it is, how do you configure take to turn off mobile data after five minutes when the screen is off? I can only program it to turn off instantaneously when the screen is off. I am kind of a noob at tasker and i need help...

In between screen off and turn mobile data off add action: task>wait. You can set the time to wait.

I use Tasker. But I highly recommend using the Green Power app. It takes care of wifi/data/BT etc., better. I used to do it with Tasker.

That will not help the problem, which is that OTHER apps cannot track when screen is off. I'm having the same problem and would be grateful for any help or advice.
Im also having the same problem. Whats different with the M8?
I'm using Strava to track my bike rides and runs perfectly fine. 9 hours tracking without problem every week.
