I'm currently in a bootloop, but my phone won't reset no matter how long I press the power button.
Giving command from adb " adb reboot bootloader" but it says "error: device not found".
holding power + vol. down won't do it too.
Read on M7 forums that I should go to a place with bright light, and then try pressing power button for more than 10 seconds. It worked for the person there, but not for me http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2460655
Any other way to force reboot it during a reboot? If only there was removable battery
Hold power button and volume up button together.

Hi,
Fairly new to android scene. I recently rooted and unlocked the bootloader. I'm now trying to get CWM ... but I can no longer get to the bootloader so I can enter fastboot mode. I hold down the power and the down vol key but nothing happens, after a while it just restarts the phone.
Edit: I got into bootloader by holding down vol down and power for about 5 seconds then let go of the power button and then tap the power button a few times.
Did you disable fastboot? If not it's under settings -> power.
Then try again, hold both buttons down until it appears.
I disabled fastboot. Sorry forgot to mention that in the first post. Right now I'm trying to set up ADB and see if I can do it from there, but I'm having problems doing that too.
my phone is stuck on bootscreen I tried flashing it following this method. Everything went successful but I can't go to recovery menu to reset the device cuz it's stuck on bootscreen. Anyone got any idea how to fix this?
I have found, on my phone anyway, that when you hold the volume down key and the power key it just sits there. I have to hold the buttons, let the power button go til I see the "LG" logo and hold the power button again. Then it gives me the factory reset screen. But you have to let go of the buttons as soon as you see this menu. Then you can hit power, hit power again, and it boots into recovery. Give that a try and see if it works.

ok so I hold down both power and volume down button then the lg logo showed up I released the power button and hold it again then the lg logo disappear and comes again and then it goes blank (um still holding both of the buttons) and the notification light keep on blinking. um really starting to get worried here I exchanged the phone with my galaxy s3 there is no way I cud return it now and I wudn't even try to re-flash it if it wasn't for the miui rom it had installed when I got it. I just want my phone to be at default 4.1.2 and now I'm clueless :crying:
however if I press and hold power and volume up button and when lg logo appear I keep pressing the volume up button rapidly this shows up:

i dont even know what it says its like in korean or something
That looks like the Korean download mode. When I use that method to get into recovery it's a bit tricky. I hold both buttons, nothing happens, while stil holding the volume down button, I let go of the power button just till I see the LG logo, then I hold the power button again til the small menu pops up. You have to let go of the buttons really quick when you see this menu because the power button and volume buttons are also the select button for this menu. Holding the buttons too long causes the menu to think you want to exit it....At least that's how it acts on my phone.
Remove battery, wait for 5 sec, attach battery again. press and hold power + volume down + home key, when you see reset option or recovery press power button to confirm and it will be fine.
Just try in the lg mobile support tool on top left and select update recovery the firmware will download and the phone will alobe get in the download mode and you don't have to do anything.

1. Unplug phone - VERY important
2. power on phone, doesn't matter if it is boot looping or whatever
3. hold vol up and power EXACTLY 10 seconds
4. let go of both
5. hold vol down and power till boot loader comes up.
You have no charge because you are running an old ver of twrp, get 2.7.1.0

Share how I fixed my HTC M8 with the same problem.
Hi,
I just want to share how I fixed my HTC M8 with the same issue. The method is the same but a bit different. I found the solution from googling the below link:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/htc...ter-download-mode-t2853100/page2#post62490577
The essential method is to keep holding down the power button and don't let it go while pressing on the volume up button to reset. At the very moment before the phone resets and shows the HTC logo white screen, switch from pressing the volume up button to the volume down button while holding down the power button. Or you can count 10 seconds and switch before the screen resets.
I hope this helps other people with the same issue.

Thanks, the pwr + vol-up 10 seconds before the phone hard resets, them pwr + vol-down got me back into hboot and recovery and then out of a build.prop issue.
I have no idea why this is a thing: Getting into the boot loader is usually easy. I can't imagine why when the system doesn't boot normally that the standard procedure to enter hboot changes.
regardless of retarded engineering on qualcom or htc's part, thank you an0ther.
So i acceident flashed a theme (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2751173) for ARHD v 9.1 but I was running v8.1
Now my phone automatically boots into safe mode and and the system.ui keeps crashing, I trued getting into my bootloader with no luck, the only thing I can do i reboot the phone but then it just goes back into safe
is there anything I can do?
If it boots and just system.ui is crashing, try to connect via USB and fastboot reboot-bootloader.
Or else try to press power + vol-up for sometime and as soon as it reboots keep pressed vol-down it might need a bit of timing though
This comes in handy if you have a problem being stuck in Safe Mode ....
To activate Safe Mode: press power key until shutdown menu shows, press 'shut down' until another menu opens with Cancel and Restart.
To deactivate Safe Mode: press power key until menu shows, now hold power key - a toast box opens - keep power pressed and now hold Vol+ (toast says 10 seconds and counts last couple) it should reboot as normal.

This is the most finicky device I've had for getting into recovery.
You need to hold power and then press volume up and immediately release both of them....just keep trying, it's very picky

that is insane. After about 8 tries of doing like you said I got it. Finally flashing 8.1.
This took me a few tries.
When the Android logo is displayed hold down the Power key for a few moments.
While still pressing the Power button press and release the Volume Up key.
The following steps worked for me (taken from AndroidExplained):
Pixel 2 Fastboot Mode
Press and hold the power button for a few seconds
Tap the Power Off option when the Power Menu appears
Wait for the Pixel 2 or Pixel 2 XL to completely turn off
Then press and hold the Power button and the Volume Down button at the same time
Continue holding these two buttons down until you boot into Fastboot Mode

That only gets you into fastboot. From there you will need to select recovery, then you will arrive at the dead android screen, at which time you will need to hold the power button, then while holding the power button, tap vol. up to enter recovery.
Verified instructions
Here are the instructions I pulled from a Google forum:
1. Press & hold the Volume down button. While holding Volume down, press & hold the Power button until the device turns on. You'll see the word "Start" with an arrow around it.
2. Press the Volume down button until you highlight "Recovery mode."
3. Press the Power button to start recovery mode. You'll see an image of an Android robot with a red exclamation mark.
4. Press & hold the Power button. While holding Power, press the Volume up button once. Then release Power.
