Hi,
Android Version 4.2.2, Build No.KOT49LLS980ZVC, S/W Version LS980ZVC, On the keypad option LG keyboard, the "path input" option is missing. Tried Factory reset still unable to get that option. Any suggestion. O its a rooted device with 32GB storage
Use something to edit your build prop file, look for ime_trace_apply and ime_trace_menu and change both from false to true, save and reboot, should now have the option.

Use an app like ROM Toolbox Lite to edit build.prop. Do a backup before messing with Build.Prop because if you change something incorrectly you can mess things up.

Hey everyone,
my phone is LG G3 D855 16GB version, and been using it for a couple of days...
Yesterday, my phone system sound suddenly not working, eg. lock sound, touch sound, keyboard sound, dial pad sound, even volume rocker sound!
Notification, call ringtone, music, they all work though
All sound settings are checked as they should be
If someone can help me, i'd be very happy
Thanks

first off have you installed anything in regards to sound(mods, apps....) if you have uninstall them now!!!
second off if you have installed apps since last audio uninstall them if that does not work go into recovery and do a factory rese(backup apps first) do NOT install apps after wipe and check if audio works if it does it was one of your apps if not bring phone in for repairs
you go in to recovery by turning off phone and holding power and vol+ until you see the lg logo then release a second and press BOTH buttons again and hold then chose factory reset
edit: beccause you did to try swapping it if they allow that otherwise it needs to be send to LG repair

I'm having same problem.
Can you send me default build.prop file or factory reset is necessary.
Also, did you later manage to modify build .prop without loosing sounds?

What lines did you mess up in the build prop? I'm having the same problem. Happens when I change my LCD desnsity to 530 with Root Browser. It's happened twice. When I tried to overwrite my build.prop with the one provided below it soft bricked my phone and I had to flash stock rom from my computer.
Thanks
Guys,
Any time you make edits to the build.prop make sure you take a copy of the original so you can revert back if something gets messed up.
This has happened to me also. I edited the build prop with Root Explorer and it has messed up sound settings.
I had changed the value for Multi window for all apps.
Hey Guys,
Could someone please provide a new link to their working build.prop file?! Preferably stock.
The link above no longer works!!!
The same happened to me while editing the build.prop file
Thanks in advance

same here. what should i do?
I would like to have 2 of the same apps installed. With different loggins. Is that possible? Current I have to log out of my old one, then log in another one. It's a pain. Plz help
I think so long as the package name is the same you're out of luck. You may be able To install the same app from both Google play and humble bundle for example as packages are usually different, but that's about it unless you start tinkering with the apk.

No it's not possible. Unless, you are rooted and modify build.prop to enable multi-user. Then you can add the same app in the other user(s).
Any info on how to that. I can root my phone. That pretty easy. But the other part.
Greatly appreciated.

The build.prop edit is not difficult. Once rooted, open build.prop with a root file explorer of your choice and add the following line at the very end:
fw.max_users=2
This is how the multi-user function gets added to tablets. I haven't tried it on phones, so back up your build.prop and let us know how it works out.
Have you tried logging into the app in guest mode while signed into the app as the device owner? That may work also.
This involves a bit of modding, but I think this is what you want:
http://swapmyapp.com/how-to/run-multiple-instances-of-one-app/
Thx guys it will try both of these things. It's for clash of clan game. Idk if it will work but I will try.
I tried this.......
If you don't want another app to enable all apps for split screen, you can just edit the build.prop file (that's what I did):
persist.splitwindow.support_all=false change to true
This is all I did this and now I'm in a bootloop. Any idea how to correct this? I can't get into download or safe mode. Any help or ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Restore to stock KDZ using normal flash method. Pretty painless.
Messed myself over editing my build.prop and don't want to reboot my phone without having it in the system directory. Can anyone quickly upload their build.prop for me please? Thanks.

Sorry - I am already on September 2018 update. I can upload that build.prop - but not sure if that might cause problems on boot. Let me know.
There seems to be no way to mount /system rw on Q/10 or am i missing the workaround somewhere?
I don't know how to mount /system rw, but you can use "MagiskHide Props Config" to change prop value.
I noticed this also and just factory reset my phone before seeing this about magisk. I'll try that when I get back up and running.
in twrp is shows you can't mount /system or /vendor
I thought I did something wrong when preserving root through the OTA with Magisk. Must be a new A10 thing??

yes, since Q beta 3, see https://forum.xda-developers.com/pixel-2-xl/help/android-q-beta-3-wont-mount-rw-t3929443
editing build.prop is the first thing I do after root. I need tethering badly.
also cannot do a nandroid backup in twrp because of this.
I figured out if you are rooted with Magisk you can use the prop editor on the terminal. just type props and follow the menus

Hey, I know I'm extremely late to this but I just tried this and it's working for me so far. I used MagiskHide Props Config and a terminal window and I have tethering working again on my Pixel 2 XL. Thank you for your instructions!

Trying to do that right now, can't quite work it out. Did you select option #4--'add/edit custom props'? That doesn't seem to get where I wanna GO, which is adding a line to the default prop. None of the other options looks right

Mejud, Yes, I selected option # 4 and followed what was posted earlier and entered "net.tethering.noprovisioning=true" in selection n- New custom prop. After that, I rebooted my Pixel 2 XL and was able to enable tethering again. I did it so fast that I didn't think of listing the missing steps I figured out on my own.

Finally got it--Apparently I'm either supposed to do it twice (after selecting 'new prop' ) else I'm supposed to hit enter, and THEN type in the line
Anyhow, it works now, thanks

Glad you got it up and working. Now I'm hoping this will continue to work after updating to December's update. By the way, would you know how to get Google Pay to work? Thanks in advance.
Sorry, never tried it
is the net.tethering.noprovisioning=true prop edit still working on April update? I've tried unsuccessfully with MagiskHideProps. Looks like I was able to add using terminal,but not hotspot. Looking a build.prop in file explorer doesn't show the edit?

It's still working for me, only now I'm running it on my Pixel 3 XL instead of the 2 XL. It was working with the March update and thankfully I didn't need to do anything when I updated to April.
Is it possible to get wifi calling enabled on the Verizon network in the USA with a Google unlocked pixel 2 xl?
I've not touched my phone since doing the Nov 2019 update, now I'm hesitant to

I understand. I get nervous about updating my Pixel 3 XL also but thankfully the forums have been a huge help.
My concern is not being able to keep the hotspot running, monumental nightmare for me

It's always a good practice to make a backup so, God forbid something goes wrong, you're good.
I want to edit the build.prop file and add the below two lines to enable me to add the APN settings on ROG 3 phone.
ril.sales_code=LOL
ro.csc.sales_code=LOL
How can I do it?
While terminal solution seems good for tethering, it doesn't have
the option for a full fletched editing of the build.prop file.
