I have been searching for some time and i am yet to find any details on bcm21533 governoe for galaxy y.
In my experience it gives performance nearly as much as smartassv2 and gives battery life same or better than ondemand. i find it faster than interactive.
Yet i have never heard of anyone use this governor. anyone know why? isnt it far better than smartassv2 on our phone?
Have tried this governor ornhells fusion and percy kernel.
Indeed it works as this :
Only switching between max and min processor values (832 and 156 for example) depending on needed work, but maybe you are using some heavy app and speed = min it will be laggy , and light app on max freq will be battery drain, so interactive is better for me
I use kuro kernel with
Gov Ondeman
i/o noop
stable for me
I always used conservative and sio, never complained about this

I need not only performance, but battery life as well..
i currently have my clock at 998 high and 245 low
Performance governor and cfq i/o scheduler
but i want something that wont give me ANY lag, and give me good battery life
Depends on the kernel you use but currently I'm using MikG rom with the Underworld kernel, Smartassv2 governor, and SIO i/o scheduler. That's the best set up for ME. Just change things around and see what works out best for you and the set up you have. InteractiveX and Ondemand are also good Governors and Noop and deadline are good i/o schedulers as well.
The Performance governor that you are using now will drain the battery very fast because it will keep the cpu at the 998 most of the time or whatever you Change your max to
This should help a bit.

What you think gives U best battery or performance? I am in cake kernel v.09 so in mine I have noticed I/O scheduler becomes deadline even if I select sio normally.
Which governor U like the most? smartassV2, interactiveX or performance? (I dont know why I am getting biased to Performance Day by day).
And whats the highest and lowest frequency U use? (I use 600-820MHz:silly
Hi everyone,
I was wondering what is the best governor and frequency for our WFS, I'm currently running on CM9 Alpha5 and i don't know what is the best combo.
Thanks you
Smartass2 and 320-806

i use smartass2 and 200-600 .. there is no differrence between 600 and 806 for me..
i use interactive 200-806 and noop i/o scheduler. seems to give (imho) better battery life and still give performance when needed over smartassv2
Smartassv2, 245-600, noop i/o scheduler. That's the best setting for my wfs CM9 daily use.

Smartass v2 or InteractiveX have the best battery life and smoothness at the same time.
I think the max frequency is perfect on 600 MHz, but if it's slow then you can set it on 806.
1st,
What is the best cpu speed for great performance and excellent battery life???
2nd,
What is the Best Governor for battery life and performance???
3rd,
What is the best IO Scheduler for battery life and performance?
I know there are a lot of threads with these questions, but they didnt have the best answers.
Im currently on 356mhz min and 1.3ghz max with governor performance and IO scheduler sio.
Hahaha.. Every Q u've asked depends on the phone. But i think this is the setup for every1 & infact almost every rom had this setup by default.
Governor: smartassV2, ondemand
I/o : sio, deadline
Freq : min-200Ghz, max-1200Ghz
Kernel is up to u. But fyi, its not all up to the kernel. The rom hav thier own role to achieve whats best. Again, everything's depends on the phone.
I prefer the governor badass. Performance locks it in its highest clock speed, so it´ll go through your battery really fast. As for the overclock, I have it at 1600 when gaming and 1200 when not gaming (SetCPU).
ok.
I score 3028 after benchmarking with Quadrant after these small changes in CPU stuff and i thought i wanna share it ...
I tried all kinds of things to make gaming faster and after experimenting... I got 1950+ score for 3D perfomance and these are the overall results after changing the governor and I/O:
1st try: 3128
2nd try: 3209 :victory:
3rd try: 2977
4th try: 3028
Heres how...
You only need No-CPU frlls or CPU Master or any other APP capable of changing clock speeds eg. SetCpu... :good:
Set your devices Governor to smartassV2 and i/o scheduler to vr... Clock your CPU speed to the max frequency that is stable... Mine is 1.8GHz, but can OC to 2Ghz which can make my device boiling hot.... Minimum frequency you wanna set is 600 mhz and below... And thats about it...
DO NOTE! Only some kernels can use the SmartAssV2 Governor and vr I/O scheduler... if none of them is there, I recommend you use Ondemand Govern' and Noop I/O...
Again, not all kernels are gonna have that score..
If i made a great mistake, don't be afraid to correct me especially Pepoluan ...
BTW i'm using REMICS v1.7 by sparta20 and Forvivos kernel...

AFAIK, governor's clock speed will be "locked" to the highest possible clock when you are running benchmark. let's take lulzactive as an example. look at this line
DEFAULT_INC_CPU_LOAD 70
Click to collapse
, 70 means when processor's load is reaching 70% , the clock speed will be increased some steps. in benchmarking, cpu load is always high >>90%(i'm not sure so CMIIW) that means your clock speed will always be locked in that highest possible value no matter what your governor is (even conservative). the only difference is how long they need to get up to the next level of clock speed
so personal experience will be better to get your right value rather than benchmarking. every governor has difference time to reach higher level of clock speed which is not be able to be experienced in benchmarking. this is contrary to personal experience(daily use) which you can feel how your phone react toward a command. let's take example of the most battery saving(conservative) and highest performance(performance). you can feel that conservative is rather slow in executing command while performance will give nice personal experience. both of them didn't give any significant difference in benchmarking score but both of them can give significant difference in personal experience
i hope you get my point here
CMIIW
Thanks alot But according to personal experience, I nvr felt any lag whatsoever... In gaming like shadow gun, didn't feel that much lag compared to the stock kernel from Samsung...
Thanks for correcting me anyway! I appreciate it
