Hello Guys :cyclops:,
I just wanted to share you my experience with the mediaserver and what I noticed about it.
two days ago, I noticed a sudden drain in my battery and reviewing the battery logs it turned out to be the media server since it was draining around 70% of the battery and I didn't know why.
I reviewed what I have done or installed lately, and I found that I installed "greenify" the app killer.
it's a great app and it really helps killing and hibernating idle apps. but after uninstalling it again the battery came back to normal and I didn't even see the mediaserver in the battery log.
so, I guess it was something related to greenify with the media apps on my ARC. If you're having an issue with the mediaserver, try excluding your media apps from the memory cleaner you're using (which I don't recommend using since android can handle memory better than you ) and it would help.
Thanks for your time.
Guys please help me out...
I'm facing serious battery drain since yesterday. Was previously on ARHD 21 till yesterday...but observed increased battery drain during the night...battery reducing by 1% per minute in idle conditions...found the phone completely discharged in the morning...i thought maybe something has gone wrong with the ROm so wiped clean my phone using ARHD script...then flashed new boot image and installed ARHD 22....
unfortunately...the problem still exists...another important symptom...excessive overheating of the phone, especially near the camera...
in the battery stats section, Android System, Android OS are the top two with combined consumption of more than 70%...i have no clue why this is happening and hasn't stopped even after a superwipe and fresh rom installation....is there a more stable kernel that i can flash? please help me
Update: I moved to Blade ROM and the problem still persists...can it be that there's a problem in my sd card content?
Android System covers a lot of processes, use an app like better battery stats or gsam battery monitor to determine which services/processes exactly are causing the drain. If you've flashed a new kernel then the most important thing to do is wipe the dalvik cache, failing to do that can cause drain/fc errors in its own right.

I went to recovery and cleared the dalvik cache but the problem still exists...the phone is constantly hot and battery is draining like anything...i'm installing better battery stats...can you guide me as to how do i locate the problem using the app?
The app will give you options to check battery usage either by app, process, or partial/full wakelock i.e. what process wakes the phone up from deep sleep. If it's constantly hot then it seems like some process is constantly running or unable to stop, for example if you restore an app like facebook from a previous rom it may be constantly trying to sync without authorisation, etc.
Check out proccess and i happen same problem, but i see its problem with wifi receive signal, its forced the battery wifi have bad receive signal.
I think its related at problem hardware (wifi with bad signal), battery is very hot and turn off wifi and come normal temp.

I am having the same problem after upgrading to ARHD 31.2 battery drains quickly while I am using internet.
I'm not sure how long I've been having this issue, but Instagram is draining my battery no matter how little I use it. It seems to stay running in the processes and then eventually stosp itself, even though I see no explainable wakelocks. Sometimes, I have to force stop it myself. Clean Master usually notifies me that it's draining battery, so I know it's not me. Anyone else having problems like this?
Yeah, IG is a battery drainer at times.. Happens with both my S3 & S4, but as long as you swipe it from the recent apps it won't drain battery, that's what I've been doing for quite a while.. Can't believe they haven't fixed this yet
Hello, I have searched for a while trying to find out what com.lge.mrg.service (LGActionManager.apk) does and if it's a critical app. It seems to be at the top of my battery consumption list (64%). Is it safe to freeze or unintall? I'm rooted. Thanks!
Hello guys.
I wanted to ask anyone if you know what happens when the battery wents to 1-5% and the flash icon appears ,because im monitoring my battery with Gsam battery app ,and when im above 5 % my phone drains ~12,5%/h ,but when battery goes below 6 , the phone drains only ~1,3%h ,but the perfomance doesnt change , so i enated to ask what processes are being disabled when battery is critical and whether they can be turned off if they're not needed , maybe its made by devs who make the roms?Im currently using eclipse v3.
