As stated above, I'm having the worst time trying to find an app that actually works with my tv. I've tried numerous different apps. But always end up saying no devices found.

are you trying to screen mirror? I think you'll need to set up wifi-direct and only be able to stream Samsung apps.
I've tried screen mirroring and I've tried screen cast. None seem to work.

I'm pretty sure only samsung devices...ie tv's, bluray players etc will support screen mirroring....at best you can do wi-fi direct.....or you can grab a samsung allshare device, or other samsung device that is a "smart device" (2013 & up)....

Question for anyone with the Note 8 and S4. I heard there was some special syncing that can be done between the devices. Is there anything special that one can do between these devices that might be of benefit?
I jumped on the AT&T promotion. I bought my S4 back in May, but I declined the promotion because I want interested in a Galaxy Tab 2 and that was the only tablet they offered. However, when the Note 8.0 launched, they honored the promotion even though I declined when I bought the S4 originally. They gave me a Note 8.0 for the $199 promotion price once it launched. Good customer service.
Anyway, I've been playing with the syncing and the Samsung Link app is very cool. You can transfer pictures, music, etc. between your S4 and Note 8.0 wirelessly. Just put both devices on the same WiFi network and you're set. It's fast and very simple.
I admit I kinda cringed when I realized the Note 8.0 didn't have NFC. I use it a lot to transfer photos from my phone to my tablet for editing and what not. Samsung Link is a very suitable replacement, though. Definitely set it up and use it if you want to transfer stuff between your devices.

NFC would be nice but when I think about it syncing over wifi is a better option. With NFC would have to keep both devices together and they are both almost always on the same wifi so no biggie. I will check out the sync app. Thx.

Hey thanks for asking about that, it got me checking out the Samsung Sync feature. I found out I could also share photos directly to the Sony TV or through the Denon amp.

Yeah I noticed that too. I can beam photos to my Google TV box as well using the Samsung Link app.

Hello everybody, new to the forum here and glad to be here. Recently switched back from iPhone 5s toward to the Note 4, due to capabilities I had back when I had an Galaxty S4. The main reason I am posting this is because I recently came to the gift of having the Pioneer Appradio 3, I would like to have full mirroring capabilities without sacrificing the fact of going to appradio app to use the deck. So far my research had led me to a dead end, I have only heard of people not being able to achieve in using full mirror for their note 4. In addition, I have only heard that rooting is the best solution to use the dash. Is this true? If so, what root would be sufficient? I did come across one person saying he used the appradio3 with his note 4 using MHL connection, wondering if that would still work?

Developers Edition Note 4 that's the only one as of now that's able to be rooted Retail Versions of the Note 4 are bought from the Verizon store or online

As I said above how someone used the Samsung MHL connector to their app radio to have it work with mirrorlink, does that sound possible?
Yes it does !!
Now I haven't read about the appradio in awhile, but I guess you are asking about mirroring your phone screen on your deck and using the deck's touch screen to control your apps? If so, everything I remember you will not be able to do this without root and the arliberator app which requires root (I am not even sure this works with the appradio 3. Just checked the play store and arliberator is only for the appradio 2).
If you are just asking about mirroring your phone screen and still using you phone to control the apps, then yes the mhl adapter should do the trick. Just make sure it has the 11 pin, not 5 pin, connector on it.
Can these two work together. I have read some people say that they have gotten these two to work together and have also read that the pixel and Gear 3 won't pair. I have got the phone to recognize the watch but they never pair. Can I get this watch to work with this phone? Can someone lead me to the right direction. I want to let you'll now that it is paired but will not connect.

Absolutely. I use them right now. Just download the gear app from the app store
Thanks for the response but for some reason it is not connecting to the phone.
I just reconnected my Gear S3 to my new phone. Run the Samsung Gear app and follow the instructions. You will have to reset your watch in the process.

I've got the gear s3 as well and it works great with the Pixel XL. Once gear app is installed it should walk you through the whole process including downloading 2 other apps that make the s3 work. Had to soft reset the watch the first time since it was originally paired with a Note 7.
I too am using the gear s3 with the pixel. Everything works well. My favorite is Samsung pay. Can use it even without the phone being connected

Working here with Gear S3 and Pixel XL ...samsung pay is awsome
I'm curious about the S3 battery life? Also, was there a noticeable hit to the Pixel's battery?

I haven't noticed a bit to the Pixel XL battery life. I use my S3 every day, but only for notifications. Don't have the LTE on or the WiFi and I average 84% battery life left each evening when I charge it. I use it from 7am until about 10pm daily.
Google does pixels xl with the Samsung Gear S3? It does all the work? It's compatible?

I know this thread is for S3 but I have the S2 and it is fully compatible, I've even used Samsung pay. Reading everything about the S3, it is fully compatible as well.
Are sure?

I have no issues with my s2, and the other people in this forum have had good luck with S3.
Working perfectly here. Pixel XL running on TMobile with Gear S3 Classic.

Is it possible to get Google Assistant working on the S3?
Mine worked great for awhile. Now that I am on Android Oreo. My phone cant find my watch after a couple of days. If I reset the watch it will work good for a few days and then it will stop finding my watch. I have had to reset my watch 3 times.
That's weird. I've been connected since the release of Oreo without issue.
I do have to reflash my phone though because i installed BusyBox and SPay then detected root.:crying:
I had to do another hard reset on my watch again last night. Everything is working fine so I will have to wait and see how long it last this time.
New 10/10/17 update means the plugin is no longer compatible with the pixel and won't install ☹
Anyone got the old one as an apk
@noone606
This is the one i am using. If there is an issue, maybe install the previous release and it will update to the newest.
the samsung+ app behaves erratically on the tab s3.
for example: repeated crashes and the display of random users' chat history.
in the video @ 0:36 there is one such incident.
this does not happen with any samsung; only tab s3 affected.

I'm right in saying samsung plus is not a stock app that comes with the tab s3. I am not 100 percent sure of the apps function but has it not been replaced by samsung members ?

good point.
according to samsung support, tab s3 is supported, regardless of it being stock or not.
funny thing is that the tab s3 is not listed as a supported device, however, the tab s2 and s4 are. Makes no sense.

From what I can see Samsung members has the same function did you sideload the Samsung plus app as an APK or did it come install on your S3 as I just have Samsung members.
Which came with the 8.0 update I think
You can download it from here https://www.google.co.uk/url?sa=t&s...BMAB6BAgLEAI&usg=AOvVaw3t78SNKyRZPG0BaBSzX24r
UPDATE:
Samsung+ 11.2.4.0 fixed the issues I reported.
Anybody successfully get Dex running on the Sentio Superbook? I'm just getting a black screen even though my phone says it is connected for Dex. It worked for Note 9 (https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-note-9/accessories/note-9-dex-sentio-superbook-t3895238), but I never tried that before sending my Note 9 to the mothership to pay for my Note 10+
I'm trying this using the official Samsung hub (https://www.samsung.com/us/mobile/m...-s-usb-hdmi-and-power-adapter-ee-pw700bweguj/)
I'm wondering if I'm doing something wrong or if this trick doesn't work with the Note 10+.
Ive been trying to get it working aswell but no luck as of yet. Ive tried the hub method, just straight connecting it, and also i tried to pass it through my monitor to the superbook but no methods work.
Mine work after I press the reset button on the back of the superbook

I was having the same problem. I found that I can't be on the home screen for Dex to work. So I open another app, rotate the phone to landscape and then it works. No idea why this makes things work but I'm not arguing too much.
I bought one of the early bird and was one of the first to get the Superbook so it's been a while but I never got dex to work, just the Sentio platform which wasn't awful but I like dex better. I sold it and bought the HP Elite x3 to run dex. Works much better and better build. I am thinking about buying the superbook off ebay cheap to play around with again if I can find one for $50 or so.
