Hi
I just installed CM7 RC0 and also tried to install gappks.apk through recovery. but apart from Market and Gtalk noting was installed.
When I am trying to download anything from market it shows "downloading from Maket". but nothing gets downloaded.
I tried to do the s0be method but i am not able to create any folder in /cache directory. it states "permission denied' read only file system...
need your help to get market downloads working
Update: Tried s0be's method but no luck...cannot get pass step 4

well tried both, nothing worked...any other alternative..reverted to Orange GB..if any alternative is there then pls let me know will try again tomorrow.
I don't know if it will be any help but I had the same issue when I was using fixed SBFs and a nandroid. It seems to have rectified itself since I flashed the full Nordic Froyo. It may or may not have been coincidental though.
[Q]CM7 RC1 V2-Not able to download anything from market
After updating from RC0 to RC1 v2, I am not able to download anything from market. I am able to browse all the applications in Market. When i click to to install, it starts and disappears.
I tried wiping data/catch and re-isntalling Rc2 v2 but not help.
Does anyone one have any suggestion ?
did u solve the problem?
go to settings > application > all > market and tap on uninstall updates.
You will get the old i.e the factory version of the market. However, it can download stuff
and I no longer get the "connection time out" error. yay
Manage Applications> "Market" and “Google Services Framework” , clear cache and data, reboot.
When Amazon updated to 6.3 my Kindle Fire had to be rooted again. This time, although I have the Google Play Store app, when I launch it, the following message appears: "You must add an account to the device to continue. Do you want to add one now?" When either Yes or No is selected, the app force closes.
Tried unrooting and re-rooting, rebooting, but nothing works.
Hope someone out there can help, please.

Install GoogleServicesFramework.apk and this should stop happening. You can extract it from the GB (GingerBread) GoogleApps zip file. I always put that .apk into /system/app, but that may not be necessary (not sure on that). Just try installing the gsf apk and see if it works -- I personally would also reinstall the market at this point (Vending.apk). If this doesn't work, you will probably have to get into adb and push the .apks to /system/app while in recovery. Then, you can work your way to them with a file explorer that can get into root (ES File Explorer works) and install both .apks by simply tapping them.
Kindle Fire and Google Play Store
Thank you very much for your response. Will try and let you know if I was successful.
This worked!! I have a different problem now where my Kindle cannot connect to the Tootle server.
The error response is that my phone is not provisioned for data services.
Any suggestions?
Thanks again.
Sorry - autocorrect...should be Google server
i would recommend flashing modacos rom if you want a smooth bugless stock amazon experience.. not trying to be an ad, but just saying.
It seems to have been a server problem. I was able to log in and use Google Play Store.
Many many thanks for your help, tedr108!!
UPDATE - After I tried to download an app, I received the following message: "The application Google Play Store (process com.android.vending) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again." and force closes.
I tried rebooting as well as uninstalling/reinstalling the Play Store, but no change.
Thanks in advance for your help.
Same error here... what am I doing wrong?
Me too! I thinks it's a GoogleServicesFramework.apk version issue.
Can anyone advise what gapps version to use?
Google Play force closes, Google Framework won't install
I've rooted my Kindle Fire running version 6.3. It's running the stock OS. I used the Kindle Fire Utility version 0.9.5. It rooted and loaded TWRP but was unable to push the google apps (extras) as 'permission denied'. So I installed rootbrowser.apk. It works with superuser privileges. I downloaded GoogleServicesFramework.apk and Vending 3.5.16.apk and then with Windows Explorer I dragged them into the /sdcard/Download directory. With rootbrowser I copied them over into /system/app. I tried to install the google apps. Google Play installs but crashes. GoogleServicesFramework.apk will not install. Using Rootbrowser, I was not able to delete the GoogleServicesFramework.apk. I booted the Kindle Fire into recovery mode, mounted /system, then used ADB to push the GoogleServicesFramework.apk and the Vending 3.5.16.apk into /system/app. The files were successfully copied into /system/app. I rebooted the Kindle, using rootbrowser I installed Google Play (Vending 3.5.16.apk) but GoogleServicesFramework just shows "Application Not Installed". When I launch Google Play I'm prompted to add my account info on the device to continue. When i select "Yes", it closes and I'm unable to get past this point. I have the "Go Launcher EX" installed. I also went into recovery with TWRP and fixed permissions. Still nothing worked.
I've watched the NOOB video, and read Kindle Fire For Beginners and a whole bunch of other stuff. I've scoured the posts but though i've tried everything that everyone else has done in order to get Framework installed and Google Play to work, I cannot get passed this point. I'm now 4 days into the process of 'rooting' this device. Like I said, it's rooted, but not completely functional with the desired apps.
Does someone have anymore ideas on how to get GoogleServicesFramework.apk to install and Vending 3.5.16.apk to work after it's installed?
Thanks!!!

What are your "GoogleServicesFramework.apk" permissions set to?
The GoogleServicesFramework.apk installed in /syste/app/ is 777 (for owner, group and others), i.e., rwx for all three users.
---------- Post added at 06:41 PM ---------- Previous post was at 06:09 PM ----------
Well, 4 days and running into roadblocks. I was probably chasing my tail. However, when the nice guy that posted a reply asked "what were the permissions of googleservicesframework, and I checked that they were 777, I decided that maybe..., just maybe, I had a bad .apk. All of the .apks that were in the folder were 644. So I downloaded a new version of googleservicesframework.apk from media source fire (the one that I had was from a link posted previously.) I noticed that most of the .apk files were around 600 kb. The one that I had downloaded previously was about 2mb.
After copying over the small .apk into /system/app, my google play started working perfectly! I'm VERY sorry for being a NOOB! However, thank you all at xda for being here for all of us! Keep up the good work!!
montoyat, please share the link with us for the GoogleServicesFramework version that's working for you. I'm having issues too, and have been through over 10 gapps and different apk files. going nuts here!
thanks

Hi all
I'm using a rooted Kindle Fire, with cyanogen mod 7.
I have downloaded the GAPPS package (gapps-gb-20110828-signed)
I can install some of these files, while others state not installed. (Application not installed)
If i then try access gmail, youtube, Google play, to login i just receive a message stating Unfortunately, Gmail has stopped. Strangely i can login to Google talk OK.
Am i using the correct GAPPS? Do i need another file to allow me to login?
Thanks
Simon

Your apps might have been corrupted during the install.
Depending on which type of recovery you're using, you can try to "fix permissions" there to sort out all those apps.
Also in your Settings >> Applications, clear their data/caches.
Alternatively, you can manually uninstall each app that gives you trouble and reinstall from the market.
Thanks anomalya,
Ive cleared out the cache, but no joy. How would I fix permissions to try that as a fix? it seems all the google apps installed, and will briefly show the opening page, but then doesnt work. Also imdb doesnt work. Strange that many other apps work fine. Any ideas on what to try next?
The gapps zip is intended to be installed from recovery in the same manner as a ROM. It is my understanding that you are extracting the apks and then manually trying to install them.
Ah yes that is correct. Ok so i need to install these from recovery? OK.. any chance of a quick reminder how to do this?
If you don't have a "reboot to recovery" option in your ROM, then you can either issue "adb reboot recovery", "adb shell idme bootmode 5001" & reboot, or just press the power button on FFF when instructed as you turn on the KF. If you haven't already flashed the latest FFF (1.4a) then you're strongly advised to do that as well (from recovery too, just as the gapps). And upgrade your TWRP to 2.1.1 if you're using an old version, too!
Thanks, that worked perfectly!

Had this problem the other night, I fixed it by loading Xposed framework first in Adb, then installing with ADb command, after open Xposed framework and go to modules use the mouse to tick the ouya box. after this I ran the script to install google play and bam I was running. the batch file would time out on my network copy and the xposed framework so I bypassed it and it solved my issues.

I have had this issue also, did you see the license agreement for googIe Play when you first opened the play store? I never got the license pop-up so I went back into Exposed are re-ran the installer and then rebooted. Once the ouya came back up I went back into google play and the license agreement screen appeared. Once I accepted the license, google play store loaded without issue.

Is there anyway to uninstall Google Play on the Ouya? I also get the no connection error. I tried clearing the cache, disabling it/re-enable it. All have no luck. Anyone know a better way to fix this?
No Connection(Custom Rom) Fix
For custom roms, just Wipe Dalvik Cache and Flash Gapps. Fixed for me
*easy step by step solution*!!!

Anyone made the Measure app work on their OP3?
I'm also having problems what's brought me here. I was trying different versions and nothing works :/
Yep, works perfectly fine here. Do other AR Core apps work for you?
Actually I have a problem with installing AR Core itself, do you have a link to proper version?
Also can't get it to work. I tried a few different versions of the ARCore apk now, but when opening the measure app all I get is different error messages.

I have the 3.
What I did was the following:
1) Download and install the latest ARCore apk from apkmirror: https://www.apkmirror.com/apk/google-inc/arcore/arcore-1-3-180604066-release/
2) Sideload an ARCore-enabled app like Just a Line or IKEA Place (again, from APK Mirror) and launch it so it crashes the first time.
3) Using a root explorer, go to /data/data/com.google.ar.core/files/device_profile_database/ and find the file for the OnePlus 3T (it will have "OnePlus3T" in its name).
4) Rename/Remove the "T" from "OnePlus3T" in the file name.
5) Launch an ARCore-enabled app again and it should work flawlessly.

Fobos531´s instructions seem to work well for me. I can use the measure app now. Though I'm not yet sure how exact it is. Haven't had much time yet for testing it.
For reference, I've got OP3 (not T) running NitrogenOS 8.1
Fixed, I completely kicked ARCore APK and reinstalled. Now it works. AR Stickers does not, but I think that I use the wrong APK...

Can you try manually creating the file in that case? Create a "files" folder, inside create a folder named "device_profile_database" and inside that folder create a file named "device_profile_OnePlus3_colon_8.textproto" (make sure .textproto is the extension). Put this in the file: https://gist.github.com/fobos531/64cd45838ffb6a143a83306882d208b6
Also the file should have read+write permissions only for the owner (you can do "chmod 600 /data/data/com.google.ar.core/files/device_profile_database/device_profile_OnePlus3_colon_8.textproto") to achieve this.
