Hi all.
I've recently purchased an LG Optimus G (F180K) through an online reseller. The phone was unlocked and works on my local carrier. Please excuse me if the following problems have already been answered in other forums but this is my first smartphone (moving from a Nokia XPressMusic 5530) and I'm having difficulty understanding all this talk about flashing and basebands and what not.
I want to know how to update it to Jelly Bean since Android 4.1.2 has already been released for the F180K in South Korea. Software Update reports that I'm using the latest update available. I see that there are stock 4.1.2 ROMs available for the F180K in the forums. Would installing that be different from updating through official channels? Also, my lockscreen shows the dual roaming clock and I am unable to change it as the settings are greyed out when I check under Global Roaming. Does anyone know how to change this? I've searched around and someone suggested to manually edit settings.apk or something similar to that but I don't know how to go about it. Lastly, I want to get rid of the pre-installed Olleh apps and remove the Korean characters from the dialler. It would also be nice to get English versions of QVoice and the other LG apps.
I would really appreciate it if someone could walk me through these things. Thank you very much in advance.
Hello everyone
I've been battling with this issue for over a month now. I recently flashed CM12.1 / AICP 10.0 on my GTI9190 serrano3gxx and while they are beautiful ROMs, one problem arose. My mobile data doesn't seem to connect at all. WIFI, SMS and calls work without a hitch. I have tried all possible APN's for my carrier (Vodacom ZA) nothing worked. When I reverted back to my NAND backup of the stock ROM the mobile data was offline as well. Which makes no sense to me because it used to work fine in that configuration. This at least gave me the conclusion that the problem isn't ROM related, but then what?
Pretty much where I am now is I'm downloading an update for my firmware. I found a list on http://www.sammobile.com.
Original firmware: South Africa XFA I9190XXUBNA1 (Release date: 25-02-14 Version: 4.2.2)
Now downloading: South Africa XFE I9190XXUCOD2 (Release date: 01-07-15 Version 4.4.2)
Does this seem like the right path to take? I'm really struggling to find ANY sufficient information on the matter for my specific model s4 mini. Almost no information about firmware updates or anything on XDA. I'm not even sure of the risks from doing this firmware update. Will I still be able to run CM12.1 or AICP 10.0 etc? Will I be able to revert back to an older firmware version if this fails? (I'm leaning toward no)
All I want is for my mobile data to work again and this is the only sort of sensible option I've come across, however limited the information on it has been.
ANY help would be much appreciated. :good:
Update on this:
I first isolated the modem and tried flashing that (three times as recommended) Didn't work.
I then flashed the new firmware, which also didn't work. I'm now on new firmware and have tried different modems, nothing works.
Like what, is it actually possible to just "break" your modem? I'm starting to lose faith here.
[SOLVED. Seems like it was Vodacom denying me access somehow for whatever reason. Had to get a new SIM. Sigh. All that hassle.]

Sorry for posting here but there isn't a MatePad 10.4 forum separately.
I have a Huawei MatePad 10.4 BAH3-W09. I tried to downgrade it to install google apps as many of you have tried as well. I didn't know it was a Chinese variant and tried to install a EU firmware. This resulted in a bootloop. It just bootloops into recovery every time. I tried recovery with histuite, wifi upgrade and via USB OTG. All fail. I tried factory reset and wiping cache. When I wiped the cache, the recovery changed to Chinese. I took it to the official Huawei service and they told me there's nothing anyone can do in Europe as it's a Chinese variant. Could anyone help me to get a chinese firmware for this? USB OTG update might still work with the correct firmware. At this point any working version will do doesn't have to be old enough to install google apps. Although that would of course be preferable, if it's even possible with Chinese firmware.
Here is a picture of the info on the box if it's necessary.
I did PM you, we'll give a try to BAH3-W09 C00 Emui10.1 B108 and B135 dloads.
hello, everyone. I have a tablet huawei matepad 10.4 model BAH3-W09 Chinese, and I want to change firmware by putting the Italian one, and now my question is, can I do it without creating bootloop? can I do that without sending the device to brick? and if I can do that as a program, I have to use? where can I find an EU firmware?
Thanks
@accery's BAH3 devices was finally fixed using paying tools and some time
@Mark887 I did PM'ed you about your BAH3 rebrand.

I'm a new user too (from France...), so correct me if i'm wrong !
This what I understood, the tab has a release date in 04-2020, and we need a firmware from an older date, so we can't rollback enough for a Googlefier install...
The only "workaround" I found is to use Vmos pro (free from their site) and then create a Virtual Machine which can add Google playstore etc...
But I think it's a lot too annoying for a kid...
Actually, I use petal search to find my kid's apps/games.
For Google stuff you have to use the Quick app center...
Sadly, I haven't find any solution for Family link...
Hopefully this can help you until there is a solution...

Hello everyone, by any means, does anyone know what's the stock firmware version for matepad 10.4 from Mexico? I lost the paper where I took the version before downgrading using the firmware from the googlefier post (10.1.0.118(C432E4R1P3)). Now I don't have OTA updates.
I really appreciate any help, thanks in advance.
