I faced this problem when I installed Nova launcher. In Nova launcher the wallpaper sets as landscape mode by default. But in stock Rom set as potrait as default. Now i uninstalled nova launcher and i am in stock. But when I want to set wallpaper it shows me the landscape format not potrait. But I want potrait format which was default of Stock Rom.Any trick to get Potrait format back??
And I know that reset factory settings will solve this problem. But I do not want that.So any trick without factory reset??

Sorry, on a different ROM. Try clearing data for Gallery and Live Wallpaper Picker.

Its ok.But I do one think,I reinstalled the nova launcher. In launcher settings there was a option to set wallpaper as potrait. Then I select portrait. As a result now when i set a wallpaper it comes with a potrait format which i needed. Then I uninstalled the Nova launcher. Now in Stock I can set wallpaper in potrait format automatically. At last the problem is solved.I will try your Tips if it will happen again .And Thanks for your help.
It works for me also , it happen due to third party launcher settings. if you only revert to default launcher the issue will pop ups. Any way :fingers-crossed:

Hi all, I have just flashed my SGS I9000 with Darky's 9.2 rom, since doing this I cant hide Launcher pro icon labels (shortcut widget).
I know this is trivial, however it is screwing up the format of my launcher.
Any ideas?
I was on 9.0/9.1 when I hid the the text and couldn't get the labels back. Had to remove launcher pro, delete related folders and re-install. Must admit i've not tired it on 9.2.
Thanks for the reply, I have now reinstalled LPro, now when I check the box "Hide Icon Labels" under Lpro preferences, I press the restart now button and the labels are still there. I go back into the preferences and the box has reset and is unchecked!

some apps require compatibility mode enabled, some require it disabled, some don't like a changed dpi at all
Yes, I know but before this 2 apps are compatible before. I know that cachemate is just white bg, but now its not occupying the whole screen
Sent from my GT-I9000 using XDA Premium App
so enable/disable compatibility mode
Try to wipe dalvik cache from cwm, worked for me earlier.

Im running the latest stable version of CM with Amon Ra recovery. It runs great except for these three problems.
1. I use the Zeam Home Launcher and every time I reboot the system resets it back to the default launcher. I press home and choose Zeam launcher, but none of my widgets load.
2. Is there a way to keep Wifi on even when the screen is turned off. I know this was a setting on MIUI, however I cant find a setting for CM7. I would like it to stay on all the time.
3. I have the latest version of the Market. When I search for an app it displays the total number of matches found in the top right corner. However, when I scroll down the list it ends after about 20-30 apps even though there its showing hundreds of matches. I then do the same search online, see all the available apps, and know for certain that they are compatible and can install them from online.
I have done a factory reset twice and reinstalled everything, including ROM and Recovery.
Thanks for reading and any help you might be able to provide.

1. When you choose the zeam launcher, make sure you check the box that says 'set as default' set your widgets. They should stick now.
2. Settings > Wireless settings > Wifi Settings > Press Menu > Advanced > Wifi sleep policy: set to never
3. If you keep manually scrolling the rest of the results should show up.
One Down....
1. Zeam launcher has been set to default launcher every time. Tried again with no success.
2. FIXED. Thanks. Why in the world would they make you press "Menu" inside of a menu window ? Seems weird to me.
3. Scrolling changes nothing. How would you NOT scroll manually anyways ? Not trying to be rude, just sayin.
One down, two to go !

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yLkQhVDhk-4

Have you tried installing a new market? [vending]
Download the latest CM7 gapps, extract the vending.apk [market], place it on your sd card, then install it.
I had the same problem with the Market, and I know others did too. Mine was only on occasion, but still obnoxious. So far the newest Market leaked from ICS (version 3.2.0) has fixed the problem for me. I couldn't install it over, I had to replace the apk in /system/app, set permissions (rw-r--r--) and reboot. Remove or rename any com.android.vending.apk you may have in /data/app, just in case. Backup your old Market in Titanium Backup or rename it so you can revert back if needed.

As for the launcher issue, I had similar problems when I was running CM7 way back on nightly 21 or something. Try updating to a newer version or downgrading to a previous version. Or you can try reflashing the rom over itself. You'll need to reinstall the new Market if you flash anything.

Launcher Issue
Notice: The stock launcher for CM is ADW Launcher. I'm not a big fan of it either so I've also replaced mine. Normally just installing a launcher from the market and selecting it as your default launcher (via the pop up window that displays when you have multiple launchers installed) is all it takes to make it a default. I normally wouldn't advocate changing your system apps. However, in your case it seems like the system just doesn't want to cooperate with you.
Here is how to do it.
1. Make sure ALL launchers are uninstalled. (except for ADW of course)
2. Download a root file explorer like ES File Explorer
3. Download Zeam Home Launcher's apk file to your SD card
4. Open ES File Explorer (or whatever root file manager you downloaded) and make sure your root folder is mounted (so that you can modify its contents instead of it being read only)
5. Copy Zeam Launcher apk from SD card to /System/App/
6. Delete the apk for ADW Launcher (the stock launcher) from /System/App/ (or you can just move it to your SD card in case you decide later that you want to use it again)
7. Reboot phone
8. Enjoy Zeam as your new PERMANENT stock launcher.
HI everyone,
when i put apps or widgets on my screen and i update the system some apps and widgets are lost on the screen.
have anyone of you an idea how i can fix that?
Regards
Sven
Only after an update, or each time you re-start your phone?
Also, "Oppo find 7 NIGHTLY-find7.zip" doesn't tell us which ROM you are using...

It's a bug with the "Google Now" launcher and also with "Launcher3".
If you put a short-cut or a widget on the desktop for an app that has been transferred to the SD-card (internal or external), it won't stick after a reboot...
I can confirm that this problem doesn't happen if you install and use the "Nova Launcher" instead.
Other launchers might work too, but I didn't check them all.

Hi,
thank you! I use now the nova launcher looks good and all apps on the desktop are there after a reboot!
With my ooriginal stock rom but also now with my V10i I experience that when I open 'applications' under settings after a few seconds it crashes. It looks like a memory issue...
I have to use the 'application' option in ES explorer to be able to delete apps.
More people experience this and have a possible solution?
I have a 16gb D550.

Yes it does. With the LG homelauncher and my Apex launcher.
Just found out that when using the LG Easyhome launcher it doesnt occur.
So I have a workaround... but its still strange.
That was an illusion. it keeps crashing while building up the apps list. After is crashed also all launchers have to build up again...
