[Q] Battery charging - Galaxy Note 8.0 (Tablet) Q&A, Help & Troubleshooti

Hello,
I have a bricked SGH-I467 that have the battery low.
I can't reflash it as it always blinking even if I use an USB cable, (no recharge).
I would like to know if somebody have an idea to how to solve this issue....
I think I have to charge the battery from an external source before all but my search about the SAMSUNG SP3770E1H 4600mAh pack was unsucccessfull ...
< www dot ebay dot com / itm / New-Original-Battery-For-N5100-Galaxy-Note-8-0-SP3770E1H- / 350903450418 > only new items, no way to charge them....
Any help will be appreciate...
Thanks,

I had to get my usb connection replaced. Maybe that's what you need to do as well?

Do you think that can be that?
The power loading seems to be controlled by a part of the Boot Loader software without let the power from USB to directly feed the battery ....
If anyone can confirm/infirm that ...
If not, as it's a 3.75v Lithium-Ion technology (17.25WH 4600mAh), if I found a charger, that can help me but I'm not sure for the connectors.
There is 2 dark wires, 2 blue and 2 red, so can I deduce that means 2 units in // ? perhaps ...
Thanks

I went to our local phone repair kiosk guy and he did it for me. It wasn't a part specifically for the Note 8.0 of course, but it's been working well for about 6 months now so I'm not complaining.

I posted a help thread on charging / battery drain, unfortunately the mod did not think it was worth a sticky.
So I will reiterate my feelings again about Samsung and Kindle USB charging cables.
I have gone through 1 Kindle and 2 Samsung OEM cables. One Samsung cable almost caught fire during charging. All because of the weak design of the mini USB head and cables themselves.
The best cables are Sony / Ericson and Blackberry. They are heavier and well made, and also they include a ferrite core at each end for EMI / RFI shielding. They cost about the same as OEM and are a bit longer as well. The only drawback is they are black instead of white.

[Q] Galaxy Note 2 Live Demo Unit

Hi everyone!I have a Galaxy Note 2 Live Demo Unit and it has Android 4.1.1.I tried to update it to 4.1.2 with Kies but it said that there isn't any software update for my device.I went at a GSM service, and they said that I have to be careful, because The Normal Note 2's software can brick my device and I have to use a Demo Software.Does anyone know a Demo Version of Android 4.1.2 for Note 2?I'm new on XDA so I don't even know a lot of things...

I upgrade note2 demo just yesterday using odin and full firmware uprgade without problem. I have no demo sw and ofcourse no gsm signal.
OTG USB host cable problem
I have two question about Note 2 N7100 demo live.
1. OTG USB host adapter cable lost connection on phone. It sees the phone OTG cable but constantly connects and disconnects immediately and so constantly repeated in a circle. This OTG cable I tried on another Note 2 (not demo) and works great.
Does anyone know how to solve this problem with "conecting-reconecting" OTG host cable.
2. If I make a Skype video call, the person on the other end can not hear me. However, I can hear him well. The problem goes away if I plug my headphones in. Strangely no problem during an audio only call. There are similar issues with Google talk video chat. Did you notice this problem on your unit.
This demo note 2 have stock firmware 4.1.2 and all function (except phone calls and sending SMS) work well.If it is important, I have reclaim the memory from 5 to 16GB with the original pit file.

[Q] SM-T210 Tab 3 7" MHL to HDMI(TV-Out) Capabilities

Hi Guys
I got this SM T210 (wifi only) tab and I'm wondering if this really has a TV-out feature via MHL to HDMI.
It really is not clear for me because some sites says it has but other says it doesn't.
I was wondering if anyone here has the same tab as mine and has gotten this feature working for them.
If it work for you can you please also indicate what model of the cable you are using.
Thanks
The official specs on samsung's site make no mention of HDMI.

Yep, that is why it is really confusing. If you look here at the MHL to HDMI cable here
http://www.samsung.com/us/mobile/galaxy-tab-accessories/ET-H10FAUWEGUJ-compatible
it clearly says that it is compatible with Galaxy tab 3 7" (Gold brown color w same specs as the white).
and also here on this link
http://www.abt.com/product/71046/Samsung-ETH10FAUWEGUJ.html
if you look at the docs of that cable. it states that this is for all 2013 Galaxy tab 3 devices including the 7" version.
Hopefully somebody has gotten this to work because I really need this feature on my tab.
up
About MHL (TV Out) capabilities:
http://www.samsungmobilepress.com/2013/06/03/Samsung-Introduces-New-GALAXY-Tab-3-Series-1
suggest you buy a MHL to HDMI adapter to test it. If it works, that will be great. if not, you can return the MHL to HDMI to the vendor.

Hi, I am sorry to tell you the bad news. I asked Samsung online service about your question that whether the micro USB port of tab 3 7.0 supports MHL function via live chat of Samsung.com. They told me that only tab 3 8.0 and tab 3 10.1 features a micro USB port with MHL/HDMI functionality like Samsung Galaxy S4,S3 and Note 2.

Aw... Now I don't know what to do with this tab anymore. I really need the MHL tv out capabilities so when I travel I can make this as my Portable TV box.
Anyways. Thanks for all the help. I guess I'll just sell this and buy another tab.
what if you root it or something? would that work?
you can get this to kinda work by putting a kit Kat rom on it. all kit kat roms have miracast. it's not exactly mhl (wireless instead of wired) but it serves the same function

[Q] USB OTG possibility?

I guys, maybe I'll buy LG Optimus G for xmas. The only lack of this phone, imho, is the missing SD card slot. It won't be a lack if this phone supported OTG, but, as lot of us know, microusb on this phone doesn't provide 5V output, so it's impossibile to connect other usb devices to OG.
5V output is not the only requirement to make USB OTG work, but 5V usb power can be easily supplied with a Y cable with one end connected to a power source (computer or phone charger itself or external emergency batteries). OTG needs also compatibile soc (snapdragon s4 pro is compatible for sure), kernel support (it should be enough to connect devices, such as usb gamepads) and software support (for example to read what's on a usb stick). Software support is easier than 5V, lot of free and well know softwares can be found on googleplay. So only kernel support is the last enemy. I'm not able to compile kernels or other stuff like this, but, as I saw for other devices (even mid-range like some samsungs with novathor chipset) or for OG's almost-twin Nexus 4 which has the same situation of OG, kernel support can be easily integrated by people with some skills in android programming.... So, is there anyone who can try to add kernel support?

I got that working 3-4 months ago.
There's a kernel from Houstonn's AOSP 4.4 kiktkat ROM.
Try that, I used OTG for like 1 month And then moved to stock again.

[Q] About the wifi chipset / driver on tab 3 7.0

anvil,
for the sm-t210[r] i don't think so. if i understand it correctly you need a specific dongle with a specific
holy grail kind of chipset, AND you need a device with otg capability. binary-droid thought he had that solved
but as i haven't read anything else about it, i would say the answer is a resounding NO.

so does it mean that the problem on bringing otg support in tab 3 lies on the kernel and not on the hardware itself?

Tab 3 with mouse, keyboard and ethernet via USB OTG.

I have a Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 that I want to use ethernet, mouse and keyboard with to do remote desktop work. Is there anyway I can do this? I see that there's a Samsung USB LAN hub for the Note Pro/Tab Pro line of tablets but I'm wondering if this will work with the Tab 3.
If not i'm wondering if a hub can be connected to the tablet that would then allow the connecting of the usb mouse, keyboard and a usb ethernet adapter. These are the two products I'm currently looking at but im not sure if they are compatible.
Samsung Original LAN USB HUB Adapter (ET-UP900) for Galaxy Note Pro /Tab Pro

I can't post links as yet. They can be easily found with a query in Amazon.

I am sure keyboard and mouse will work on otg cable as long as they got enough power (I have tried it) and for WLAN or Ethernet cables you will need to modded kernel to do it.

I was wondering if you know anyone willing to help me modify a Tab 3 kernel to add ASIX drivers. Based on my research the ASIX ethernet based adapters seem to be most compatible. I would even be willing to pay to get this done.
