Is there anyway to remove the nfc icon in the status bar without turning nfc off? I'm using the Korean F400S model. Thanks!

I used the G3 xposed mod (play store) and was able to remove. Have to be rooted with xposed obviously.

That's what I did as well. Highly recommended. Not only can you remove the NFC icon, but you can also remove the carrier text, minimize the battery info footprint (change to circle with batetry % inside), and a bunch of other things. I used to only have room for 1 or 2 notifications before it consolidated them, but now I've got lots of space.

i'll probably root eventually, i just wanted to change out the airplane mode toggle for the driving mode toggle and maybe remove a couple of others.
Ooooo I wasn't sure exactly what you were asking.
Only thing I know of is the 23 toggle mod, which is an easy enough flash if you are rooted. Wouldn't know another way, though.
There's a couple of apps in the play store which can add toggles but I'm not sure if root is required for those apps.

Ah
Theres a mod called 20 toggle mod. That'll let you customize it and edit the order and everything. It also adds a bunch of other toggles

after doing a google search, I only found these options:

-this looks PERFECT, but "- the app can not remove the build-in toggle notification on Samsung phones"

I think it's silly that LG has given us this big beautiful screen and diminishes it's full glory by not easily allowing you to hide the top status bar. I am pleasntly supprised about the fact that they let you hide the home navigation bar on the bottom. Love that.
So getting to work, how do we hide the top status bar in the same way as the bottom bar with a swipe to activate on demand?
So far on my quest I have done the following:
Placed the phone in developer mode and allowed USB debuging. Described here in the a PurpleDrake how to guide that I used: http://www.droidviews.com/root-and-install-twrp-recovery-on-t-mobile-lg-g3-d851/
PurpleDrake: Rooted, Installed TWRP, Disable LG Security. http://forum.xda-developers.com/tmobile-lg-g3/development/root-twrp-root-twrp-tmo-lg-g3-t2821005
Installed Xposed Framework http://forum.xda-developers.com/xposed/xposed-installer-versions-changelog-t2714053
Installed G3 TweaksBox and activated the module in the Xposed Framework https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=it.ptoti.g3_tweaksbox&hl=en
I have searched and searched google, xda and all the phone settings looking for an easy way to hide the status bar. What am I missing? Can someone please help? I hope this will benefit a lot of people. Thanks :good:
If you download gravity box module for xposed you can put the phone in expanded desktop mode which will hide the status bar

Is that just for the homescreen view or all the time? I'm looking to hide it while in applications. The same way the home nav bar at the bottom hides. Thanks
I use ADB launcher to get the job done.

ADB Launcher allows you to hide the notification bar and create a bottom drawer where you can use folder editor to put in category Icons that when pressed open up a slideable selection bar to select programs stored under that icon. Everything is neat and tidy on mine. No wasted screen space.

Thanks. More that I play with the phone, the more I realize that I actually just want the web browser to go full screen. Just need the status bar to hide when browsing. Don't really want to install an aftermarket launcher.
For other people's benefit, in case anyone else finds this thread that wants to use their phone's full screen. I found a solution that seems to fit the bill. I'm using an app called full!screen that says it's for tablets but seems to work almost perfectly https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=de.tsorn.FullScreen&hl=en
It has a pie menu included so you don't even need the pie app.

Root your phone and remove it using Titanium. The notification is just to say you have other keyboards, not specifically the LG keyboard's fault. It's an Android thing.
Depending on the ROM, there might be a toggle to turn off keyboard selection notification. Look in language/input in settings.
Hey all,
Does anyone know how to remove the Unknown Sim Icon when using a non-verizon sim card?
In the past, i installed the xposed module called flat style bar indicators. However, when I installed xposed, that involved installing FlashFire. I then discover later that my FlashFire completely removed the ability to go into Download mode
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks,
I would love to know as well. Thanks
When you say "in the past" do you mean on this Verizon LG G4? I was wondering if XPOSED works on LG G4. I loved it on my Galaxy S5.
Also what is the download mode that you say you lost?
Yes, installed Xposed on one of my G4's, unfortunately, doing so broke going into download mode which is a major pain in the butt. If you do install Xposed, let us know if you lose download mode...
Thanks
Answer :
Currently, you definitely need xposed to remove the unknown Sim icon. There are two xposed modules that can achieve this tweak :
- Flat Style Bar Indicators
- G4 Tweaksbox
I went with Flat Style since it's free.
Unfortunately, with G4 Tweaksbox, that feature is a paid feature
Again, I wish there was a way without xposed but oh well...
Kill unknown SIM icon
I know so little about Android that I can only ask if such a thing is possible: Can someone create an app to simply update (spoof) the SIM card's SKU_ID to a legal value and thereby suppress the unknown SIM icon? The alternative is to buy a new phone for $150-200. Therefore, I'd gladly pay $5-10 for the app.

I think this problem was fixed in some update, but for me this is not a big problem.
The difference is that my icon is not on the right side - it is on the left.
I can simply slide down the notification bar and swipe the "non-verizon sim" notification to the left side.
Its gone.
This works for me out of the box on Android 6.0 version VS98625A. No need for root or xposed.
You have to do it every time you reboot the phone but its a small price to pay for the phone coming GSM unlocked out of the box.
I am not sure if perhaps this is something that is a problem in the newer versions or the older ones. (Whether Verizon fixed this feature or broke it)
Here is the only link i could find to this firmware.
https://www.fshare.vn/file/SZDKF6CXCO33
Click the white download button, wait 60 seconds, then wait like 3 hours to download. Probably would not hurt for someone to upload this to another mirror, or confirm if this fix remains through later versions.
Looks you can swipe it away in MM now, in LP only rooting and using the methods described above helps.
I wonder how to get more icons in the status bar. The place is there, but only the left time is shown and the right only this two icons.
(If you're willing to root...) I've installed GravityBox and disabled the clock (or move it to the center, it hides under the notch)... At least I have 3~4 icons (3 icons + the dot if more than 4 notifications are there)
The clock can be hidden without root using systemui tuner. Some other icons can also be hidden (eg. I hide the alarm indicator since I always have an alarm set)

I probably wrote it wrong, but my problem is that I don't see more than 2 icons on the right.I don't have root.
And this application does not help

Hello Tramin,
Good Day !
Dear Have You Tried To Reduce Screen Resolution Size ? I Mean Go In Developer Options => Smallest Width (Around 448 dp). It Will Reduce Your Screen Resolution Size And You Can Get More Space In Notification Bar.
Greetings...
Thanks,
MUHAMMAD Asif Qasim
It can definitely fit more than 2. I can sometimes get 5 if they're narrow or overlap. The traffic arrows are the worst.

Probably because of the notch, this phone shows less icons by default. Eg. Bluetooth only shows when connected. My previous phone showed more icons by default but it had no notch and ran marshmallow.
To make more icons appear...
Connect a Bluetooth device.
Plug in headphones.
Set an alarm.
Put the phone on silent/vibrate or do not disturb.
Be on 4g while WiFi is available but needs sign in (both WiFi and 4g icons display).
Re enable battery icon.
Run Google maps.
Run a hotspot.
Is that what you mean?
Thanks, it's probably it.But it's not entirely correct, because bluetooth is on all the time and the icon is not visible.

Regular xposed is not available. EdXposed runs on pie. It's a new thing that tries to be compatible with Xposed. Many modules are not compatible. Gravity box is.
I strongly recommend having mm (magisk manager) setup before playing with EdXposed because bootloops are fairly common and mm from twrp let's you turn off EdXposed so you can boot again. Then you can fix the module/setting that caused a problem.
