Is the phone is dual active or only dual stand by ?? - Desire 816 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

That means , if i already have an active call on one line , do the other line can receive a call or will be closed (out of reach) ?????
Thanks

I tried it but it's not dual active. But some people said it is dual active lol.

No, like most dual SIM phones is the HTC Desire 816 dual stand by, not dual active

TP2 to have Dual Sim support?

check it out..

Just my two pennies:
Orange have been using Line 2 for years, even my Nokia 6310 supported a second number.
I second that... My old Samsung Z500 did, and my E300 before that... It's not a phone-feature per se, it's more depending on the network you're on. And it's definitively not Dual Sim. It's too lines. Like say you're on a call, someone else calls you, you can't switch between two calls. That's it. My Diamond does it also... Can't remember where, but it does ^^
in Australia, years back, you would have Telstra phones only using "a" phone line... but when you used an Optus SIM, you'd find it referring to "Line 1" and "Line 2" - that went back to the days of my Ericsson 768 though.
Can anyone verify dual sim?
I think you are confusing two lines with dual sim. Dual sim is having two cards in your phone and two lines is having a sim capable of handling to lines with diferent numbers. There are a third and fourth things which are conference call and call waiting and those are network services.
What is different in dual sim is the possibility of having two completly diferent networks working in your phone. If you search http://pdadb.net/index.php?m=pdamaster you see that the new rhodium is listed as having 2 sim, but no parallel working, meaning that even though there are 2 cards only 1 is working at the time. There are however phones/pda able to have concurrent/parallel working sim's. I am looking for one of those. I know Acer Tempo DX900 has that abilitiy. For me is essencial both working as I have my old sim with my number that my friends and family knows and now my boss gave me a work number, so I have to carry my pda plus a mobile in case I'm needed at work. SO the major question is: Does HTC has or will have in the near future a parallel dual sim pda?

[Q] Dual Sim Adapters?

Hi,
Just wondering if anyone knows of any dual sim adapters that work with the HTC Wildfire? Tried googling but the sites that come up only list adapters but do not seem to promise that these adapters work with this phone.
Have a personal number and a work number that are separate and it would be handy to just carry around one phone.
Thanks
Dual Sim for wildfire
You got me interested in this and my search came up with this company that says it does work with the wildfire
cant post the link because of forum restrictions, but if you google the company at simore.ch you will be able to find it from there. It says the platinum and platinum plus are compatible.
They seem really good and have videos showing how to do every step. The only thing that worries me is having to cut up the sim cards which I hear is normal for a dual sim adapters.
I just got a 26th gen cutting Magic Sim dual sim for my HTC Desire from a seller on ebay (he was the cheapest seller by a mile) i've also tried it in my girlfriends Wildfire and it worked a treat!
If you want info on the seller i got it off just PM me as i doubt i'd be allowed to post it on here.
Cheers
R
yeah, love to have one too
i advice you to do not do that becuas it use so much of the battery near 3x
when you have the duel sim in it.. can you be could by both numbers. or do you have to switch firts to be reached at one of the numbers..
Because i'm loocking for somthing that i can be reachable at two number at the same time..
sorry of my englisch.
Its extremely unlikely that both will be reachable at the same time by using those adapters, although I havent seen / used them personally.
If you want a dual standby phone, get a proper Dual SIM phone.
Dual Sim
Here in the philippines its normal to have dual sim phones, also we do have tripple sims because we have 3 different network provider....
But i dont suggest to have dual sim on HTC
1 it destroys the quality
2 it voids warranty
3 it suck to put dual sim on HTC phones. it lowers the value

You mean like this copy one x?
No, but you can simulate it and mayb possible in the near future. I think i am going to order it too.. But need a new case then lol
FAQ on some other site:
Q24. Can the two numbers be on line at the same time
Answer: As one mobile with only one receiver, it is very difficult to make two sim cards online at the same time? Anyway, we are never stop making efforts to this direction.
The present method to solve is if you set calling divert service for two sim card, two sim cards will be online at the same time.

The "simulation" is nothing to do with this dual sim adapter; you can set a divert from any sim to your One X sim, so calls from that sim come through to the One X as well.
I don't think feature won't come any time soon either.

Interesting....wonder will it take a normal SIM and a micro SIM in the adaptor.
Sometimes you need at oversea station
It arrived! (only taking a couple days) and its been working well so far. Very satisfied!
The "2 sims online" option is for timed switching (so you can set it to switch sims every 10 mins etc)
For anyone interested this is the exact item i bought...

Honestly this is really cool! I have a few questions though. If I have a 3G data bundled line and a normal 2G line, will I be able to keep the data on permanently while switching between the two lines for calls only? My guess is no
And the 2 slots are for microsim only right?
I wonder if this can fit into my Otterbox commuter.

By normal he probably means the miniSIM.
The microSIM goes into the phone and then the miniSIM hangs out the back.

[Q] How can i buy Galaxy note 2 N7102 (dual sim)

Hi together,
i m in germany and want to buy the new galaxy note 2 dual sim.
Can you privide me some alternatives?
regards
I'm running mine with magicsim dual sim adapter. It works fine and fits inside the battery case reasonably well. It will not provide simultaeneous standby ( dual standby ) it's either one sim or the other, but they are both 3g as opposed to many solutions where only one of the sims will have 3g. I have call and sms divert set up on each sim to divert to the other sim, so whichever sim is active, I never miss calls or txt messages, it was £25 well spent, hope this helps
There's already a thread about the N7102... might be worth your while spending some time reading it to save covering the same ground in a new thread

Hello there, I am very interested in a Note2 dual Sim but the present Chinese Samsung Note 2 seems to slightly inferior in the connectivity and other e.g. google aspects. I was looking at your Magic Sim dual adapter but have not tried it. Did you have it in your Note1 or Note2? a cut or non cut version? I am very worried of cutting the Sims and squash everything into a tight space. I assume there is no problem in clipping the back of phone on even with a bulge, if you have a non cut version? I hope to use one Sim in UK-vodafone for phone and data , and the other -3- in HongKong mainly for my internet access for my frequent visist there. Thanks. Carl

[Q] Dual Sim V.S one Sim

Hi guys
i want to buy " HTC Desire 816 "
but i want to ask
dose the 1 Sim version get Different from the Dual Sim Version
i mean dose the Dual Sim version get Freezes like the Samsung Dual Sim phones ?
or the hardware get changes from the two versions
or its hard to find the Solving problems for the Dual Sim Version because the dual Sim is not very famous
In general which version is the best to buy?
thanks all

There exactly the same except the dual sim has two sim cards, nothing else is changed.
However single sim has NFC and dual sim does not, so if thats a big deal for you stick with single sim.
Also, single sim supports LTE but dual sim supports only upto 3G, and only in one of its slots.
however, I've had no problem regarding Mods and Roms for my Dual Sim 816, and it's the best dual sim phone I've had as I haven't had any network and antenna problems with it.
thank you guys
i asked this question because in Samsung devices the Dual Sim Version freezes a lot
and i hadn't use HTC Devices ever
i think i will take the Dual Sim version
because my country doesn't support the LTE by the way
and i don't use the NFC already
but i want to ask some other questions
winch version is more famous ?
dose the devices has notification LED ?
and what do you think is the Negatives of the device ?
thanks all

If you don't NEED two SIMs, go with the single SIM. Simply because it does have the extra features just in case.
There both just as "famous" and they bith have a notification light.
