Has anyone tried mirroring their screen with their Nexus 7 yet? I can't seem to get it accomplished. This version is supposed to include the ability to mirror your device's screen to the TV with chromecast. Not sure if anyone has gotten the update which is supported for mirroring the device. Here is a link below. Let me know if you can get it working and let us know how.

Not working for me.
I don't have the dongle to plug into the TV yet, but all of my newer custom ROMs have the option to "cast" to another device. If it does/doesn't work, would change how much/what type connector I would buy.

Yet, the PSU on my TV broke two days ago. I have no functioning TV to test this with. Hopefully I can get the new fuse soldered to the board and have this working!
V1 worked for me. But the scaling was off and it was quite laggy.
Just installed v2 I'll test it out later tonight and report back.

v2 worked for me with sound. but a little bit laggy.
Working on my stock 4.4.4 rooted, at first there was no audio but a hard reboot of the chromecast fixed that.
Now I need to find a mood to get rid of bottom menu while carrying. Anyone?

Whats up guys today found out wifi theter 3.1-pre113 working on my sgs2 and all i can say its running 5 times faster than the built in wifi-tether..
This is the instruction to make it work on our device:
Download the yellow wifi-tether apk version 3.1 beta 11 from google..
Then install it on the phone,
now open the app
then menu-settings then change the device profile to epic touch 4g
done.
Start the app then enjoy your 5 times faster wifi-tether!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WHOT WHOT
BELOW IS THE APK FOR YOU GUYS
No problems with the tether on the customized/themed ROM's I've tried so far. Still bottlenecked by the 4G, about 7-8Meg on a good day but I definitely get that on my Touchpad going through the phone.

Note that beta 7 has been running fine over here since it was released, on the SGS2 profile. I tried beta 11 a couple weeks ago and for some reason had trouble connecting.
Is there something tweaked in the latest beta and/or profile change?
Also, not sure why you've renamed the file attached, since you've confused things a bit...in your text, you refer to "beta 113", which is the experimental version (Dec 28). The attached apk filename implies a date of Jan 12, which is the featured "beta 11" release date.

Will check this out. Used to Tether all the time after dropping Comcast. Got Verizon now for a hell of a lot cheaper, although less of the good channels. 5 times faster? Have to check this out....

Hello ive installed it on my Nexus 7, not rooted everything stock. It does work i can draw but instead of a white paper i get a black paper, u just need to change the pen color, there is a hidden ring u cant see if u just start the app, the ring to change the color and the pen, i got 2 pens and one erase tool and about 12 colors to choose from. It does work really nice but i dont know why the background isnt a white paper ^^

This is the first version I've found that sort of works on the Note 3. It's scaled way down but at least it is centered and usable. All other versions have been severely skewed and unusable. Thanks for sharing.
Dear XDA Developers,
I'm sure you have been asked this in the past, but I figured I would ask again.
Is there any interest in opening a Google TV forum?
I think this is going to become a very high demand forum as the technology progresses. Several people have already achieved root on Google TV and I believe having rooted home entertainment is going to be very popular in the future.

Xda is a mobile development forum. So I dont think they will add it..
Of course I am just a user like you and just know what you know
"Everybody gets so much information all day long that they lose their common sense." -Gertrude Stein
I know this is a mobile development forum, but I feel since this is an android device they should add it. It would be in there best interest.

I just have a wierd feeling that this time next year, the Google tv realm will have completely changed. A Japanese company just released a Google tv running ICS and it basically acts as a big android phone..
Also, Google is going to release an upgraded version of the Nexus Q and this will probably be running jelly bean and have full internet access.
I just purchased the Sony Google tv and the haven't even can't close to the potential this device has to offer.
Nonetheless, it will be interesting to watch android tv unfold

It's not perfect, but the "Android TV Sticks" area might be of interest, more just as a general place to put anything you find?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=2070
Similarly, does anyone know if "Google TV" is just an app running on top of Android? I see that the Netgear NeoTV Prime is a Google TV enabled box that allows you to also download "some" apps from the Play store, which makes me think it is Android underneath.
Personally, I would be interested in seeing a forum for Google TV devices, but as far as fitting into XDA it makes more sense if there is actual non-OEM development taking place on them.

Google tv is an actual android powered device much like an Apple tv. The box is made by companies like Sony, Vizio, Google and LG.
These boxes turn your tv into a fully functioning android powered device. My Google tv is currently running gingerbread and is awesome.
There is a new Japanese company that just released a ICS Google tv and it should be available in US markets soon.
Rumor is Google will release a jelly bean powered Google tv device sometime this year.

well i have gotten some "alternative app stores" installed just to get some apps that i want that dont show up on google play, also a must have app is showbox, it is the reason i also bought the neotv on clearance since trying to run it on the chromecast was a bit of a hassle, also tried installing teamviewer but for some reason it wont let me log in to my account, also if you have some friends that have iDevices i suggest downloading an app called Airtight so you can wow them by letting them stream their content onto your tv and then you can tell them it cost 42 bucks when their apple tv costs more than twice lol, basically that is some of the stuff i have, i hope that with the release of android tv some developers can actually get a port of it to our boxes since modifying honeycomb builds was a hassle and the jellybean update for google tv only came to the lg tv's and their rom was ported to a sony box but it was buggy. For now i am happy i got the last one at my store before they ran out, we will see what the future holds.
*****Moderators: please move this over to a different Galaxy Nexus ROM dev area should it apply, but please leave a link to it under this Sub-forum.
I have created what is probably the first custom Android ROM that includes the files for Ubuntu internally, alongside the existing Android architecture. While this is not really a polished release, it has the ability to crash the phone, and requires some tweaking by devs and downloaders. However, for Galaxy Nexus owners (toro for now, soon to be other GNex devices also) this ROM (Rev 2) should boot up after removing one internal zip file. Go ahead to https://sites.google...site/andrevroot for the link about the project, and/or the bottom of this post for
Some things to note:
Comment back what you think about this project, and ROM.
Please keep all comments polite and on topic.
Donate, via bitcoin if you like, as it helps support us, and help create better, more advanced ROMs.
Please look through the whole site
Don't try this ROM if you are new to custom ROMs, try Cyanogenmod ROMs first so you know what you are doing.
I take no responsibility for screwing up your device in any way.
This version is heavily based upon CM10, to the point where it should even say the General CM10 stuff under Settings>About Device. Please do not beat me up over this, it is just because I wanted to get a simple pre-release out there.
This is licensed, please read the License agreement at the footer of my site, you are bound to its terms. Its Creative Commons, but still used.
Thank You for your time, have a nice day.
Above all, do not try to update the CM firmware, as you will lose the ubuntu files contained within!!!!!!

Holy cow, dude this was awesome. I mean... me and this thing clicked instantly. As soon as it booted within 5-10 seconds I got through the lockscreen and then just started dozing through all the apps and swiping. It is a bit slow, not in particular though, probably as slow as Miui. This is just a dev preview, imagine the real thing and I didn't lose to much battery life within the span of 20 minutes. I wanted to keep this on my phone just to test but I couldn't. I'm just waiting for the real thing :victory:

Can someone explain how this will work? are the games rendered at 2560*1440 or is it 1920*1080 scaled? or is it up to the game developers how this works?
I like the LG G3 but I'm a little concerned about the extreme resolution and how it will effect gaming performance, I'm probably worrying about nothing and Android has a way of handling this but I want to be sure.
Thanks in Advance.

The games with 1080P Resolutions will run on 1080P resolution itself. Its like watching a 720P movie on a 1080P display. Unless they come up with the new Quad HD [xxxhdpi] trend.

Okay, so it sounds like games are upscaled somehow or the internal target resolution still remains 1080p?
How about emulators like N64 or PS, if they have no option to set resolution will they be forced to use 2560*1440 when going fullscreen?

as long as t-mo doesn't pull the stunt they did with g2 then you would be able to root g3 on t-mo
So on the g2 t-mo released there variant on 10c we had easy root access and it was easily exploitable for loki usage; fast forward about 8 months to the killer kitkat update for the g2 it took the devs exactly 6 days to figure out a workaround to use loki but 13 days total because we needed the source from lg(they slowed us down), fast forward to late April early May the ls980 finally got kitkat and autoprime(awesome dev) figured out a way to root using the stock recovery and shared it with the community and suddeny there were a lot of reports that the d801 t-mo variant was not being rooted, that there devices were being wiped and it turns out that for some reason t-mo removed access to the stock recovery, it was still there but it was only there for the factory reset option and so root was not and still is not possible on the t-mo g2 all the t-mo users need to downgrade to 4.2 root and either update to kk and hope root survives for those without supersu pro that had survival mode or downgrade to 4.2 root/custom recovery and then install a flashable 4.4 rom for there variants
so if you read my mini rant I suggest you wait until after the g3 is released on t-mo and we have more available information
