I initially flashed the CM10 JB stable ROM successfully. The only problem I had was that I was unable to transfer files via USB to my computer, so I tried using the toolkit to flash the stock rom, but when it was flashing I got an error message that my phone disconnected.
When I turn my phone on I can only get into download mode. If i just press the power button, I receive a black screen.
I have tried using this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1771687 to flash the stock ROM using ODIN but the phone freezes at the Samsung logo screen after the T-Mobile "4G Android" screen.
Any help is truly appreciated

can you get into recovery mode? if you can, try installing a rom from an external micro sd card (that you know previously worked)

If you got this far, then you need to do a factory reset.

you cant. You need to boot into recovery. Trust me you can get in it, might take a few tries. Try to boot into recovery without the usb cable plugged in.With the phone completely off, and unplugged do the vol-up, home +power combo til it flashes that first screen, it can be a ***** but youll get in
Try turning the device off, remove the battery and leave it there for 60 secs. Make sure the phone is unplug from computer and the hit vol up, home, power until the phone vibrate then release. This should get the phone into the stock recovery.

I really do not think I will be able to get in. I have tried it so many times and even previously could only get into CWM recovery through the app on my phone to boot into recovery. I could never actually get in holding the vol-up+home+power.
Is it possible to flash CWM recovery through ODIN and download mode?
I'm not sure why this stock rom is freezing after I flash it through odin.

i would suggest trying a different cable and if ur gonna use odin again, wipe everything (especially /system!) in recovery before booting into download mode for the odin flash. would also reccomend tryin the legit stock rom in odin (unrooted) if its still freezing on you.
Flash with Odin again, then after it is successfully completed power down phone you have to hold vol up home and power until you see some blue text appear in the top left corner then factory reset from recovery

Yea getting into recovery is tricky if you don't hold the buttons long enough (let go too soon). These guys really gave you great advice.

If you couldn't get into CWM recovery before you screwed the rom then you just aren't doing it right.with phone off, hold up and home, then hold powered button for like 3 sec then let go of only power... but i think you are right the download mode skips the Samsung logo.the recovery puts up Samsung logo before booting recovery. Why can't you Odin a recovery partition ?

Hi,
I rooted my Xperia SL and installed CWM. After backing up my stock JB rom i tried to restore an old backup i had made 5 months ago with an older version of CWM. During this process my phone restarted and is now stuck in a boot loop. The sony logo shows up and then disappears and then shows back and so on...
Need help! What shud i do?

Press and hold the volume up+power button until you get three vibrations. Then prepare Flashtool to flash the latest 6.2.B.96 ftf file. When prompted to, hold the volume down button and simultaneously connect the usb cable. Once the flashing is complete, disconnect your phone and start it normally.

Hi, I have a rooted sIII with stock rom, everything was working fine until I noticed the phone would occasionally freeze and I'd have to reboot. Then suddenly it froze and when I rebooted it would'nt go past the Samsung Galaxy SIII logo, it just stays stuck on there.
I tried power + volume up+ home button and the first time I did it it said "entering manual mode" and some other stuff, but stayed stuck on that - then I rebooted and now it won't respond to the volume up or down method, it vibrates like it's about to boot bu then nothing happens.
What the hell should I do??
Have you tried power+home+vol down to get into download mode? Then Odin back to stock?
Edit: Sorry, just reread your post and saw that you can't get into download mode.
Hit the thanks button!
You will need to enter download mode and use Odin and flash stock ROM and start over. Did you make a backup first? You could try using odin to reinstall custom recovery first.

Sorry for bumping this, but I just wanted to let you know that you pretty much saved me from a heart attack. I was trying to go from a 4.3 rom to a TouchWiz Rom and I wiped the data/system/cache/dalvik and then when I was installing it hung on the Aroma installer. Pulled battery, and the phone wouldn't boot into recovery again.I reinstalled TWRP with odin and it worked! Thanks!!!
Suddenly my Nexus won't boot up, instead it will stay at X logo animation, no mattery how many times I reboot it. I can't get into recovery with volume down + power up button, but I can access recovery via fastboot.
What should I do? I really don't want to loose my data. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks and best regards.
p.s.: I have Cataclysm ROM 4.3 with TWRP. I've tried to reflash it, but it's still the same.

If you really don't want to lose any data, create a back up and then adb pull the file to your computer. That way you can backup the file after you restore another ROM. Hopefully that'll solve your problem.
I had CWM recovery installed and tried flashing this Stock ROM.
Now my phone is stuck in the Google Bootloop with the 4 colored circles and keeps vibrating. Google logo doesn't show up but just the 4 circles. i let it go for about 10min then tried to boot back into recovery but recovery won't load. just goes back to the google logo boot screen.
can anyone help me get back to recovery or to install my backup???
I backed up my phone in CWM before i flashed.
Also when i flashed, i only wiped cache as the instructions on the stock rom thread said to.
can anyone help?
thanks in advance
i was able to boot into download mode and flash CWM again in odin and it says passed but still stuck in google logo colored circle bootloop.
anyone have any suggestions for me? it will be greatly appreciated
FIXED
woo hoo! thought my phone was gonna be a piece of junk.
guess i'll leave this thread incase it can help someone like me.
i fixed this by booting back into download mod and using odin to flash CWM recovery again from here:
http://galaxys4root.com/clockworkmodtwrp-recoveries/
then it PASSED but got stuck in bootloop again. so i held down power button (instead of removing battery) and shutdown and rebooted to recovery.
then i was able to install my backup!

Holding power + volume up to boot, or just volume up during a reboot will send you into recovery. Just for future reference...
