Back button. Once you're on the home screen it changes to a power button to turn off the device since it has no function on the home screen

How to take screenshots?

Hello fellows,
I have question about screenshots in SGS2. How I can take them? Only by special application, connecting it to PC via HDMI cable or another? I was just wondering to take some pictures from Galaxy on Fire 2 and Reckless Racing
Thanks and greetings.
Press Menu and Power at the same time.
shoot me on the market is good too. sometimes i want to take a screenshot while pressing a button and cant with the built in screenshot feature so i use shoot me.
you just shake the phone to take a screen shot.

Not quite, that is the explanation always given but it's actually
Press HOME
Press and release POWER
Release HOME

Press both at same time is actually right. You can hold HOME and press POWER and release POWER and stay holding HOME though.
I'm using "screen capture" on the market
here's the link

HOME + POWER works like a charm, no root required, no need to install any additional apps

Hallelujah! I never got that, was pressing both buttons simultaneously which just locked the screen. This works better, though still not every time like on iOS.

Does anyone else have this horribly annoying issue?

If I am in an application and my screen turns off, I hit the home button to wake the screen and then it takes me to the desktop instead of the last app I was in? Any guidance would be much appreciated.

Would help you you state which app or all apps. The Home Button function is to go to the Home Screen.
To make the Home Button take you to the last app you were in, press and hold. It will give you a recent apps page.
That also has the task manager and Google options.

I don't think that's what he's refering to. If my screen is off(aka in sleep mode), when I press the home button to wake the screen back up, that's all the home button does with that press. It only wakes the screen up and leaves me where the phone was, when it went to sleep. If I press the home button, when the phone is awake, then yes, it does take me to the home screen.
To the OP,
I tried it with Touch Wiz and Nova Launcher, even using the app "nolocK' to lock/prevent locking of the screen. In all instances, when the screen was off and I hit the home button, it woke the screen up, but left me at in the same place where it went to sleep at.
Thanks so much chuck. Thats exactly what I am referring to. I have nova installed but I am having this problem. I wonder if it is some setting I have enabled.
I just installed no lock and messed with a lot of settings in nova. Same problem where if I wake the screen with the home button it takes me to the desktop and not my most recent app. Argg
i have this problem only when i have the on-screen nav bar. if i disable that it works fine. it's somewhat odd.

use the power button instead. works fine. home button does exactly what it is named for. takes you to your home screen.
Cant wait to try your rom t3! The home button never worked like this in the past. I am used to having home wake my screen and just want it the way it was.
Yeah, If the phone has just shut off and you press the home key it takes me back home, not to the app I was in. In this case I have to press the power button. I dont remember it doing this on the gs3. I remember hitting the home key if my phone shut off to turn it back on and it resumed where i left off.

Home Button Question

When my screen turns off and I press the home button to wake the screen, any applications or notification popups I had disappears as the home button is being too "aggressive" and immediately takes me to the home screen.
Did I miss a setting somewhere to prevent this?
Thanks.
It seems the only way to prevent this is by enabling Swipe Lock. I guess this is why it's enabled by default?
I'm having the same problem no matter what I do when the screen times out and I press home it takeme back to my home screen. ..Have you found a solution yet?

In S-Voice app, bring up settings, make sure option to "Open via the home key" is checked. This will allow the home button to only wake the device when the screen is off. Unfortunately, this also introduces some lag when pressing the home button, as the software is waiting to see if you register a double click.

I hate that lag, that's why I unchecked it and ran into this Home Button problem.
The lag is pretty bad, like 2-3 seconds. Not practical.

In pacman ROM I use on screen buttons, and turn off capacitive buttons led.
Check screenshots here
Or try app "Power on volume" or something like that, but on-screen buttons are better solution

Didn't try it ... also if you are rooted you can use gravity box to set long press action for back and menu keys if they are working for you..

Hello,
I updated my phone to cm-13.0-20160418-SNAPSHOT-ZNH0EAO2NJ-serranoltexx and I can't find the combination of the buttons to capture the screen, is there any option to do that?
I found similar way by pressing the power button but the problem is that I can't capture the notification bar like that.
Thank you for your time
