I have a rooted Nexus 7 (2013) 16gb Wifi tablet, i rooted it using the Nexus root toolkit program, and it successfully runs root-only applications. However, since rooting it, i can't seem to find my tablet in Windows File Explorer so i can add/remove files from my PC to the tablet (such as movies). Device manager recognizes it as Android Device and "Android ADB Interface", as well as charges it while connected. I just can't find it like i used to in file explorer. My PC recognizes iPods and basic phones without problems so i believe its something to do with the tablet's settings or device drivers... I've tried different driver options with my rooted device and they all test as correctly installed, but no luck with file explorer. Help would be most graciously appreciated, thank you.
In settings go to storage. Then hit menu. Should see USB computer pop up. Then set to media.

Hi, i have problems with the pc suite on windows 8. I have installed the usb drivers and can access LG mobile support tool, and it recognices my phone, but the Pc suite wont. The Pc suite also "claims" that there is a updated Pc suite that i should install, but when i press the install button i get this message: Could not confirm update with updateserver". Am i retarded or what gives?
(reason for wanting to use the Pc suite is for loading pictures to my pc. I know there are other options, but just want to give it a try. Does anyone else got this problem?
I have reinstalled usb drivers, and reinstalled the PC suite but with no sucsess. Also when i connect the usb cable is is in (MPT) mode, and have tried the (PTP) mode as well.
Thanks for your imput :good:

Yeah it is anoying as hell! for me! I will try to delete the PC suite and USB drivers and try to install it all over again. Will post back if i can fix it.
Okay i got it fixed. I unistalled Lg Suite, LG mobile support tool and usb drivers. I then connected the phone to my pc via USB so that the drivers would install. After that i went to my computer and found an Icon for the LG (not a musicplayer or a harddrive, but a Mobile phone Icon) pressed it and followed the instructions. Looks like a got a newer verson of the LG suite than the one on their official webpage. File was bigger (229MB, and the old file was 206MB) After installing this everything worked.
ps Sorry for the language :silly:
Nice to see u managed to fix it. I'm gonna try that also. Gonna report back.
It still amazes me that LG have not added anything for Mac users. If you have a Mac product and an LG device, well forget it!
The version of PC suite from the website is fine, you just need to allow it to update itself, if you have done the old flashtool hacks in the past your hosts file is likely blocking the pc suite from running the update which is why you are having problems.
Lennyuk, my hosts file is good, I removed everything related to LG including all usb drivers, connected phone to pc let it install new drivers and voila, LG suite works. ? Seems like foxtrott2's solution works ?
Hi guys,
All in in the thread title. My mac with android file transfer will not recognize my G4.
It recognize him only in PTP mode.
Any ideas ??
Thanks
I had to download the drivers in order to recognize the device in adb. I downloaded the first one listed here: http://www.andromods.com/download-files/latest-lg-g4-drivers-usb-adb-win-mac.html
I had to "remove" the drivers and now it works :silly:
Yeah the LG bridge/drivers break android file transfer MTP. An easy way to uninstall all of the offending drivers and associated files is to use the LG unified driver uninstaller from the link below:
The same thing happened to me. I also had to reinstall and to get my Mac to recognize the G4 in adb.
Hi guys,
I need some advise regarding the USB connection between my cell phone ( LG G4 with Android 5.1.1) and my personal computer (Windows 10).
With the cell phone connected to my computer via USB cable I can´t modify files and have it updated.
For example, if I delete or rename a file in my cell phone the modification is not displayed in my Windows File Manager. The same happens when I modify a file using Windows File Manager, the modification is not updated in my phone. I have to disconnected the phone and reconnect it back.
Anyone know why this is happening ?
Hey guys,
I'm facing a problem: my W10 PC won't install the phone's usb drivers at all. It stay with the yellow sign and can't find the drivers anywhere - not even through Win Update.
I searched for them everywhere I could and without any positive results.
Do you know or have the USB drivers for this phone so I can install them manually?
On my laptop, there are no problems and I tried exporting all the drivers installed on the laptop and load them onto the PC but didn't find any driver so the PC could extract them. I can't access my internals on my PC cause of this.
Anyone?
Thanks in advance.
Solved: Apparently, Windows 10 Home Ed. is not capable of installing any kind of USB drivers (MPT, file transfer, fastboot, USB-debugging - nothing worked) for the device but re-installing with the Windows 10 Pro version, the phone got detected instantly and fully without any problems. Razer CC wasn't helpful at all, this time.
