When I use TRacer/Total Recorder(Killer Mobile Software), it recorded only 3-4 minutes. Not whole call.
Sometimes calls longer than 7-8 minutes recorded around 1 minutes or nothing.
I asked 'Killer Mobile Software', they think the call recording is being cut off towards the end, then it's more likely that your device at some point is running out of RAM and killing the call recording thread. They are certain this is simply a low RAM issue during the call recording.
Does LG G3 has a special manumacturer's power saving options, task killer, memory cleaner or app limiter applications?
(I can find only Smart Cleaning in setting/preference and I don't know what is the backcround process for RAM)
Something kills or prevents TRace/Total Recorder from recording whole call.
I'm not sure, it comes from LG manumacturer's customized software process or KitKat OS.
What can I do for call recording?

I have started taking a few new courses and I want to record the lectures, but when I use Voice Recorder to make my recordings, I need to keep the screen turned on - as soon as the phone goes into standby or the screen goes off or if I launch another app, the recording stops.
Any idea on any registry tweak to keep it recording in the background?

Dude
Go here:
http://www.resco.net/pocketpc/audiorecorder/
And buy it...!
It works really well on TP2, i record incoming calls, meetings (hours!) and so on.
One caveat, of course you need a good size micro card, i use a 16gb sandisk and set my recordings as 1 channel WAV files at 44.1.
Using these settings, i can record hours of audio, i can then drag them off the card (to free up space etc), store them on a pc, use them, edit them, file them, etc, etc.
Hope it helps.
Cheers

Maybe it exists, but I haven't found it yet.
I would love an app or script or something installable/flashable to kill all sounds and vibrations when video camera mode is active, then return to my settings after I stop either recording or the video mode.
Right now, it records every ding and buzz when I'm making a video unless I go in menus and turn all that stuff off. That's quite a process to go through every time.
Hi all,
I almost put 2-3 days to investigate Apps for call recording on my SGSII. I installed many Apps on it, however, none of them seems working.
Bottom line is apparently, there is hardware limitation in Android which prevents accessing the incoming voice. and most of the programs work when voice is coming from the speaker.
This seems ridiculous! I mean, come on! I had Nokia 5 years ago and had nice Apps working perfectly for call recording with crystal clear quality.
If there is not such an App and if Android world is unable to perform such an easy task, I will definitely, switch back to Nokia.
Please let me know if you know any WORKING program with good quality without putting the phone on speaker.
Thanks for your time.

I believe total recall works if you select wav as the file format.

Their own website states that the speaker phone must be turned on. So I will keep looking Phone call recording
To record phone calls, start recording, and put the speaker on during the call. Please beware that this doesn't work on all devices.
To record incoming calls, uncheck Pause on incall in the advanced settings, start recording, wait for a call, and put the speaker on. Warning: this may cause certain phones to crash when the incoming call arrives." Need something for a sgh-t989
there are 2 fine solutions mate, that already works for me on stock rom (root required) or cm7:
https://market.android.com/details?id=com.killermobile.totalrecall.s2.market
or
https://market.android.com/details?id=com.skvalex.callrecorder (pointed by nilsido, too)
both works wonderful.
Anyone found an app to AUTOMATICALLY record phone calls? I've tried two, ACR and Call Recorder. Both have problems recording the other person - with ACR the other person sounds garbled and with Call Recorder the other person isn't recorded at all.
The stock dialer lets you record phone calls, but not automatically.
Anyone found an app that will record phone calls on the G3? What is it?
Thanks!
Stock recorder does not let you record on a d851. Have spoken to both devs they all say it a hardware issue but yet tweakedbox g3 records.
AWESOME G3

G3 tweaksbox will allow you to add call recording and then recorded calls go to Voice Recorder app.
FYI, I get the same garbled caller side of my recorded calls with G3 Tweaksbox for some reason.
The other end of the line is garbled and distorted, barely able to make anything out of it, about 85% of all calls are like that, whether outgoing or incoming.
And it seems the louder the other end of the line is, it becomes even more distorted, but it's not from talking loud, my end is recorded fine, even when I tried yelling, it seems to be the way it's handling the receiving audio.

I dislike anything xposed. Just not worth the hours it takes to track stuff down when it goes bad.

Yes call recording will work natively. The only issue is the other person sounds REALLY bad.

I have the same problem on call recordings with my D851, the other person sounds really distorted.
Pretty sure this is how you can get it working...
After talking to @wideasleep1 about his settings with Automatic Call Recorder (FREE), and applying a couple settings of my own in both phone settings and in G3 TweaksBox, I was able to get the call recording nice and clear!... here's how to do it:
Pic 1 - G3 TweakBox settings
Pic 2 - Settings (access this during call)
Pic 3 - Automatic Call Recorder settings (1 of 2)
Pic 4 - Automatic Call Recorder settings (2 of 2)
*once in a while on a certain call the recipient will sound fuzzy, maybe is related to the phone's main audio volume while on the call though. I'd say about 50%-70% up is a good volume. Anyways, someone wanna try this out and post your results?
Pic 4... Sorry
Ok this will add the record button when on a call. It will not auto record maybe I'll see about modding the apks to make that happen when I get some time. I have tried this and it's not terribly bad. There's a little crackling if the other persons voice gets to loud. So if you just want the option to be there for the next time you call Comast it''s there, also this is a flashable zip so please do a backup first :good:

Are you on a ODEX rom? If so rename LGIncallUI.odex and LGTeleService.odex.
I use boldbeast in the play store on mode four. Has automatic or manual.

Anything.. Lol
The point is that the os doesn't see them. Renaming the file achieves this without permanently deleting the files in case you want to revert later.
So, resurrecting a dead horse here...
When you're hearing the calls sound "garbled", the reason why is because the gain of the side-of-the-call-in-question is set too high
What I mean by this, for people who don't have experience with audio processing:
A file will have a given maximum-volume it can store for any given sound sample.
If it is told to write a volume higher than that maximum, it will write the maximum instead.
"Distortion" is a term for what this type of thing does to sound; specifically in this form, where the numbers are just cut down to size with no finesse, it is called "hard clippIng" and generally sounds pretty awful
The solution is to basically bring down the volume of the incoming sounds that are being recorded – i.e., in this case, the other person's end of the call needs to have its volume brought down coming into the recording app / system
The term for incoming volume is "gain"
So, the LG built-in call recorder needs the incoming gain, esp. that of the incoming calls, brought down to fix this
There is likely a number in some obscure preference file that controls this. I just have no idea where to look.
Anyone have any leads??
One of the updates to ACR this year included a gain control. By reducing the gain, I can now record calls with no distortion. Success!
Hi everyone,
So, I just stumbled upon a supremely weird problem with my G3.
My voice recorder shortens recordings, i.e recorded for 2:54 minutes long, and it saved as 2:14 minutes long.
Now, since this happens, the recording itself is very screwy, with lots of jumps, cuts, and entire parts of it skipped.
The weird thing is that my microphone is fine. I am able to record WhatsApp recordings with no issue and calls have no issues.
Another thing I tried is recording calls, through the native recorder (using G3 TweakBox).
I also tried recording them through another application, called Automatic Calls Recorder.
Both gave me the same results:
Incoming calls recorded flawlessly.
Outgoing calls l cut up, and majorly short than the actual call.
As to anyone who may confuse this, I'm not asking about the applications I mentioned.
I mentioned the calls recordings merely as an example to the actual problem, as I see it, which is that the voice recorder is weirdly bugged in my device.
About my phone: G3, D855, 4.4.2, v10L, rooted via PurpleDrake.
Any ideas whatsoever?
Thanks!
