Unable to root GT-N7105 - Galaxy Note II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi Guys, I resolved my issue of losing my IMEI by unrooting it and flashing stock rom on it running 4.4.2, I am trying to root it again but it seems that i cant root it. I have a USB driver installed, Odin 3.09 installed as well, and downloaded chainfire's root file, it is always failing when im trying to root it back. Am I missing something? please help.. Thanks in advanced guys..

[Q] AT&T Note 2 root problem with Odin

Trying to use the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 Toolkit donated and got the update for 4.1.2 and still having a problem with odin , any help ?
Try Heimdall... it's what I use personally (or have to, as I use Linux).
Heimdall
Instructions should be on that site (I wouldn't know how to use the windows version, heh heh).
EDIT: Also, this belongs in Q&A, for future reference
I'm using it via windows 7 64 bit

Ok, then scroll to the bottom of the page I linked you to. and find the 1.3.1 Windows Suite.
It should come with a readme of some sort, but I wouldn't know.
I can however say that it works just fine for me and might be a good alternative if Odin is failing you.

Does this work the same as the galaxy toolkit ?
I'm actually not sure, as I have never used that tool.
It would be best to ask in the GNote2 Toolkit thread for our device.

Well, im gonna ask a few questions since you gave very limited info.
You are in Download mode correct?
You have verified the drivers installed correctly?
Are you using a USB 3.0 port? Ive seen that cause problems.
Are you using the stock cable?
Just a few things to help solve the issue.

[Q] Help rooting SM-T210

Hi.
I need some help to root my galaxy tab 3, everytime I try to do it Odin gets stuck in setting connection u.u
I have tried everything: killing all kies process, booting to download mode using key combinations and using adb, turning on and off the autoreboot option, changing the usb port, trying other odin versions, uninstalling kies, reinstalling kies. But nothing works.
Hope you can help me. Thanks in advance.

Yes I did but forgot to mention it. Do I have to reinstall kies? I still got the drivers installed.
Another question: Is it possible to root the tab using the official recovery menu?

Nope is not. Install cwm its easy and then root it.
Also having trouble with Odin/Tab3
I'm following instructions at theunlockr.com to root Galaxy Tab 3 8.0, using Odin307/TWRP_T31x_r3.tar
I installed Kies (for the drivers), enabled USB debugging, plugged in my device - no issue finding/installing drivers.
If I open Odin while the tablet is connected and at the home screen, I get a blue "0: [COM3]". When I reboot into Odin mode (power, vol down, home), I get nothing. I've tried all sorts of combinations of when I open Odin, connect the cord, and boot the device into Odin mode - no luck.
Any ideas?
Recently rooted/ROMed a GSIII also using Odin (different version) with no issues.

Yes, flash CWM (using ODIN); then flash the root.zip (using CWM) located at the bottom of the first post in the CWM thread.

[Q] What means "one click flashing"?

Hi, I am studying android and custom roms...
I found the term, "one click flashing". (I am usually playing in AT&T android development forum. In particular, Ditto Note 3)
What means "one click flashing"?
Waiting for reply.
Thanks.
Have a good day.
The file is downloaded to the pc, is unzipped, and then ran in administrator mode. The phone is booted in download mode and connected to the pc. Then you click 'start' once, and the rom is installed.
What do you mean the file is ran in administrator mode? I assume you are talking about Odin? I am not familiar with Odin very much. I too am wanting to know this in reference to the DN3 rom.
Admin mode is windows 7
How is one click different than a normal flash with Odin? In one click do you still have to select the file into the PDA slot to flash a bootloader? On the Play store there is a mobile Odin. Can I use this to flash a bootloader? I don't have access to a PC so do it the traditional way through Odin is difficult for me.

You don't have to put anything into the PDA slot. The one click works, like your opening a zip file. Once it's open,, Odin would pop up on your PC... Then your phone is put into download mode,, connected to the PC. Hit start wait till it completes...
Done...
As far as MobileOdinPro...
I've heard some people used it to flash...
Just read and know what your doing\flashing using mobile Odin ok...

Okay, you make it sound so easy. I have yet to be able to get Odin to work. I have downloaded countless versions of Odin from xda and when I put the phone in download mode and flash a file in pda slot nothing happens, it says 0 ran, 0 failed. I have downloaded the file several times and still no go. When I use Odin it never shows my model number on the top of the program. Any suggestions would be appreciated. I am trying to flash the bootloader to 4.3. Don't know if this matters but I used the heimdal method to root my phone on a Mac, but since no Odin on Mac, I have been using a pc for it.

If you use windows 7 or 8 the drivers are native, so you don't have to do anything.

Looks like you probably wiped the system. Pick a rom and install or use Odin to flash the original firmware.

Yes, you will need another way to download the rom. Odin will require connecting to a computer, but flashing a rom can be done in recovery.

I have tried to root my ZF2 using method 3 and nothing happens...was successful before the latest update but nothing now....
And when I attempt to root it using method 2 see a response flicker on the screen for a very short time saying "unauthorised"...is this something to do with the latest update or something else? Anyone seen this before?
cheers

1. Wrong thread.
2. Wrong forum :silly:
3. This One Click Root is only for ZenFone 2 devices.
4. I don't think that AT&T devices could be unlocked. Not only AT&T, Verizon does the same thing too. Maybe you could look for working root method on this forum.

Did you check/enable USB debugging mode in Developers Option? Then try again. Check also in Device and Printer in your PC if your MTP has no yellow warning sign. If it does then you need to update your drivers correctly.
