[Q] Smoothest & fastest rom - need some help - HTC Wildfire S

Hello guys. I know that there is no "best rom" and I should check them all but this time I can't do it. I want to make my friend's Wildfire S 2012 smoother and faster than it is on stock as much as possible and I won't be able to play with it a lot so I really need your help. I am looking for pretty stable & smooth & new & fast & clear & simple ROM. He would be using it for making calls, messages, photos and undemanding games like tetris. There is no need for USB/WIFI Tethering, ART, themes etc. I was thinking about [ROM][4.4.3][ViPER]WFSY11.0-WEEKLY[V3.0][OTA][FAST] and [CM10.1][V!PER]WFSY10.1[KK][OTA][1.5-KKEgg]. What do you guys think? Or maybe something older?
I would be grateful for seeing your answers.
Best regards and thanks for any help.

[Q] Overwhelmed by which mod and version to use, recommendations?

Hi, I am new to the new android world and so far loving it over the stupid crackberry I was stuck with for the longest time. I'm fairly certain I've rooted it (unlocked it using these steps, have superuser icon), but now I'm overwhelemed on which android version or rom to stick with and using which mods. I was hoping someone can give some recommendations based on my requirements:
- I need full camera use, twitter and social media is kind of my job, I wish I was kidding (so Im guessing ICS is out of the question, unless you can convince me otherwise)
- Flash support would be nice (I see links to it to the big sticky, but I'm simply stating my requirements and asking what version would be best for it)
- I would love it to be fast and saving battery life.
- I prefer stability over something that seems like theres a lot of work left to do on it
- I will be using it to listen to music once in a while
- I will probably use a lot of apps so ensuring theyre all on the SD card will be cool (on sticky, I know)
I sincerely hope this isn't an annoying post. Seems like I'd be fine with using a variant of 2.3.6 as 2.3.7 didn't seem like it added a lot. Thanks in advance
Try stock based roms
Battery lif way better then on cm
But cm has more speeds
Sent from my i9070 using xda premium
I would say CM7 is for you. Battery life isn't as well as on stock is, but difference is rather small. And you will get speed and great functions

[Q] Sense 4.1 landscape lockscreen?

Hey guys,
i was trying to merge for my personal use some files together to get working landscape lockscreen in Sabsa Prime 15.
I dont really know wich parameters allows the .apk to rotate... Any ideas?
Hey there
Accept my apologies for not giving developer advice, but if you wish to get a working landscape orientated ROM, I prefer the ViperDHD, I am using it as an everyday ROM, so far without any doubt, it is the best, sometimes it lags for a very little time, totally acceptable performance-battery life. Trust me, I am not an engineer

Decision with a Custom ROM

I really would appreciate some help
I have an Xperia Play R800i, I have unlocked the Boot Loader and I am using a stock 4.0.2.A.0.42, which sucks ...
I want to use flashtools to install a custom ROM, but the thing is ... I am not a developer, I am a begginer in Android ... And unfortunately I dont have the time to test several custom ROMS to see what I like.
So, here is what I am looking for:
1. I primarily use my phone for retro gaming, emulators and stuff. I have very little interest in recent android games.
2. I use a lot of its basic functions as a smartphone, such as GMail, Maps, whatsapp and 3G.
3. I prefer something light, that wouldnt compromise gaming performance.
4. Being pretty and shiny isnt a necessity. (could be a bonus, though)
5. Here is the catch: I am really interested in the progress PPSSPP is making, since I loved my PSP. I understand that it will probably just run some basic games, but I really think it is cool. If there is any custom ROM that works better with this particular app...
6. Overclocking capabilities. Again, because of PPSSPP.
7. Something that looks and feels close to the stock ROM, if possible.
I tried to go into specifics so that you can help me find exactly what I need! Thanks a lot!
NXT Light Rom is nice. It's the Rom I'm currently on. I have tried different roms but they all seem to work the same for me. I settled on NXT Light because It simply allowed me more space for installation of apps, it looked nice and I got a battery percentage thingy in notification bar along with alot other very useful features.
Should take a look at it.
As for kernal LuPuSv6-GB is pretty good, with a 1.6 GHz profile already set.

[Q] [4.2.2] PARANOIDANDROID v3.60 | HALO |

Hello guys i have few questions about this rom from WoH, at the moment i am using 4.2.2 rom based on CM 10.1 from VJ, but his version will not have update soon, so i decide to check install new rom from my topic. I have few question if You can answer it will be nice:
*1* Does work properly the sound of messages? For VJ roms i usually use low sound fixer, but without luck. So rom have any issuess about sound? Works fine? Sound is loud and i can hear the sms sound? (Everybody who have VJ rom know about this problem)
*2* Does work the headset or earphones without any problem? (Now when i plug in my headset i always have soft reboot)
*3*Can You compare to VJ rom based on CM 10.1? (Speed, performance, battery drain, soft reboots etc.)
*4*It is possible to disable HOLO - i mean thing like quick menu
*5*Could You write Pros and cons of the WoH rom? Any problems issuess and possible fix or some tips?
Thank You guys!

Easiest way would be to nandroid backup your current rom, then install this ROM and try it out for yourself.
1 - don't know
2 - don't know
3 - this will be very different for different people and setups, again you are the best judge based on your setup and usage, not someone else's
4 - yes, I use PA on my nexus 7. It's disabled by default I believe.
5 - pros and cons will be quite subjective, read the thread to see what's working and other people's responses. Again you'll be the best judge if you install it.

Well, thanks, but You don't help me so much. I found on the forum few things, at first i want to compare to HTC DESIRE in DESIRE thread not to Nexus 7 or any other device. For example few things work perfect on nexus 4, not on Desire like Camera. About pros and cons it will be for example, good performance, but fast battery drain. Many other things. So You don't know so much. I ask people which got experience with HTC Desire and have this rom on this phone.
So BUMP please

The ROM is still a port, and I've used it for a different device true. However Halo is part of the ROM, and it can be disabled. Other things can be found out by reading the thread, or better yet....just installing it and trying it.

I may not have experience in that exact ROM, but trust me I know enough to help you as I have helped many other people here
"Good performance, but fast battery drain" is subjective....how exactly do you define "good" or "fast" in this case? Some people define good as "stable...but has a few random reboots", but is this ok for you? Others don't mind lag, but might find it good as it's latest android with a few more features.
Fast battery drain varies massively depending on how you use the device, no two people use them the same way. You have not told us how you even use your device, and what you define to be "good" or "fast battery drain"
From bumping it, you could get some replies from a limited number of users. Some saying it's AMAZING / LAGGY / OK, some saying it has amazing battery / poor battery / suitable for medium / light / heavy usage...but you have no idea how they use their phone, how many ROMs they've tried for comparison, or the age of their battery etc. And again their perception of good or fast battery drain is different from yours. You may think getting 'reviews' from others is useful, but I'm merely warning you they can be very misleading for various reasons
In all this time you have waited for replies...you could have easily made a nandroid backup and just tried the ROM yourself. This is always the best way of testing for your usage and setup like I said, not from other people with completely different usage...then you make up your own mind and see if it's suitable for you
If you don't like it, you have a nandroid backup to go back to, so I don't see why you're waiting...
Well, You suggest to better install before ask about sth. At the moment imo i am using a good rom. I create topic to not spam thread in developers section. I have time to change rom, but i want to do it in future. Some people, used other roms and maybe have experience and they can share opinions.
So at the moment few questions:
- is here in WoH roms a soft reboots? How often?
- as i know all JB roms got problems with camera, what about recording? In VJ rom my video playback, which i record is lagged and broken, what with WoH rom?
- there is some issuess with headset or earphones, when You plug into the phone?
- is here a low sound notification problem? Any fix?
I am asking, because i don't want to spend time to testing, i can install or sth, but not have too much time for reinstalling and finding the best one. Few questions give me an answer what i am looking for
For me it is better to ask, than shouting about problem.

[Q] How to mod my Xperia Arc S

Hello,
I would need some help with modding my Xperia Arc S. It has currently official 4.0.4, nothing rooted, unlocked etc. I know for sure it can be rooted and it's bootloader can be unlocked. Already checked it but what to do next? I saw some mods with installation notes but those are probably for users who know what to do.
What I would like to change in my phone:
- I need a new android, preferably 4.2 or 4.3 (if not bugged)
- very fast response to all basic stuff functions like making calls, sending sms, browsing net, facebook
- I dont play games at all, not interested
- 720p camera recording
- good battery life
- stability
Which rom would you recommend and how to install it on my phone step by step?
There are no 4.2 or 4.3 ROMs, that have HD video recording feature. All of them have it disabled.
Might be 4.1 too, just not 4.0.4 I dislike it a lot
Well, if you demand all of these things.. I may think you're a guy who would loooove to see This, and try each. My personal recommendation for the things you ask? Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean. You can see there at the index the 4.1.2 available ROMs, it's up to you to find which works better with your device. Good luck and happy flashing!
