I want to flash firmware on my phone (preferably the one it already has) as it is unresponsive. I can't get it to download mode or anything but odin seems to recognize it so can I do something to flash some firmware over it and maybe have it turn on?
Yes you can flash the same firmware using Odin without losing your data, but be sure to make a Nandroid backup just in case

Generally speaking: Install bootloader only with Odin.
You should now flash firmware using Odin to save your device. Maybe Kies could restore also.

HERE you may find firmware for your country/device, download.
Start Odin, connect your phone in download mode to pc, see if Odin shows up com-port and flash firmware in tab PDA/AP.
There are several guides on youtube/google

Depends on your last firmware. What was the bootloader version? If above MJ5, you can't downgrade so you are free to flash eg latest 4.4.2

1. Never flash bootloader through recovery
2. I assume that you have had newer bootloader than MJ5 before flash, so you soft bricked your device
3. To regain full funtional device follow post #4

Try flashing this in the attachments using odin the same wayy you did the stock firmware, just extract the rar file and use the .md5, and then do a full factory reset then it should recognize.
forget KIES ( completely useless) ! flash SamMobile's firmwares with ODIN !

k,
that looks odd. you might be booting into safe-mode. research it.
m
another thought, if you are able to navigate to settings there may be an in-house factory reset option
you can try. again, research it.
I have my T-Mobile S4 that I think is useless, however I would like to flash LineageOS to the device. When I turn on the device, it says that the Firmware upgrade encountered an issue. When I load up kies on my PC it doesn't detect my device. When going into boot mode it just says Downloading. Is there any way to fix my device?

I have the stock ROM, however it keeps failing at around 90% completion.
What is the Odin error? Tried using different usb cables and usb ports?
If the phone was running the latest stock ROM, you could use Odin to flash TWRP and a custom ROM.

The latest T-Mobile firmware can be downloaded from here: https://www.sammobile.com/samsung/galaxy-s4/firmware/#SGH-M919
After downloading, unzip the file once using a unzip program such as 7zip.
You will need a Windows PC and Odin: https://odindownloader.com/download/odin3-v3-07
Instructions: https://odindownloader.com/tutorials/use-odin-downloader
It's been a very long time since I have flashed a Samsung s4. There's always a risk that something goes wrong. Best advice: be prepared to try again with different methods if the instructions don't work for your phone.
I see that TWRP users have experienced a touchscreen issue, so they need to use an OTG cable with wireless mouse. Does anyone know when will the touch issue be fixed?

But you can use the OTG touch twrp
Arobase40 said:
I experimented this no touch TWRP but it is mostly buggy excluding the non touch issue there is a bigger issue which is that once installed you can't get out from it as it bootloops into this recovery mode. Flashing a stock recovery won't change anything.
You will have to totally restock your phone from scratch and then re root it and restore all your apps and data !!! ^^
I found out the twrp tree for A52 4G and was able to build a TWRP but obviously I can't test it.
I'm not able to build a twrp for A52S 5G for now as there are missing many kernel modules and other stuffs so I have to build them from kernel source code. So for now I'm working on the device and vendor config files...

Unfortunately, I have tried to reinstall stock firmware, but it failed. Looks like my bootloader became locked. Odin software showed "FAIL". There was a message that I could barely read, so that was the reason it failed to reinstall the firmware.
What should I do now?

So you got stuck in a bootloop after installing twrp. Have you tried just extracting the stock boot.img from firmware AP file and flashing it with odin? I really don't get it why you had to reinstall everything to stock. It's not necessary to reflash every partition if you only messed up one

While the phone is completely off, press vol up and vol down buttons at the same time and then plug in the usb cable to the computer. I had that happen too, when the device fails to boot it automatically puts you into download mode and it says that the OEM LOCK is on. You just have to reboot to download mode manually.

You don't need to unlock bootloader to flash stock fw with Odin.
Your problem is most likely related to something else.
Where did you download your fw?
Have you tried different cables?
What Odin version are you trying?

A Locked bootloader will prevent you from installing any custom things, like recovery or custom roms. It will allow you to install stock firmware via odin. Use Odin 3.14 to install firmware downloaded from here. Use the AP, Bl, Cp, and CSC_OXM files. That will get you started from scratch, all previous data and stuff will be deleted.
