Is there a way to get the older lockscreen back onto a Sense 3 ROM?
Or even, are there any optimised Sense 2 ROMs? It seems all ROMs in the dev section use Sense 3 (and I'm not a fan)..

Ill see if I can pull the lockscreen apk out of an old rom for you later. But its as easy as pulling the htclockscreen.apk out of an old rom
Until he answer you i have a bit different solution, by using WidgetLocker, here is a market link to it : Widget Locker, it's tested and i can say, best and most customizable lockscreen out there. Good luck.
Story short , i updated my wife's wfs to 2.3.5, and the unlock screen as well as answering screen is a bit choppy (using official rom , s-on, hboot 0.90000 - noob) and i was wondering how can i get the 2.3.3 lock screen (no apps from market, stock one) or how to downgrade from 2.3.5 if that is even possible ? pls help
I have build a stock 2.3.5 Europe version with the older style slide unlock.I didn't like the unlock rings myself and i couldn't install any RUU files after unlocking the boot-loader so i built it to try.Works very good here, i use CWM to flash the zip in recovery. If you would like to try it here is the un-direct link as i cant post a direct link as i am a new member.

I also didn't like it much and tried an experiment. It doesn't get the sense lock screen but removes those ring lock and gets the basic lock screen of android. Thats much better than the ring lock.
To do this you must be a root user.
1. Open a file browser in your mobile(I prefer root explorer but any other file browser would do which allows to access root.)
2. Go to location root/system/app
3. If you are using root explorer, you'd find on the top, a button r/w. Pressing this button gives you the read and write accesses of the root files.
4. Just move htclockscreen.apk and htclockscreen.odex to any other location(preferably sd card)
5. Restart your phone.
6. You'd get the basic style android lockscreen.
7. This method is irreversible. So if you want to get the previous screen back and doubt that you might not like it, you better do a ROM backup before doing any of this.
Advantages :-
Phone responds faster while unlocking screen.
Very simple interface
Pretty much attractive too
Disdvantages :-
You can not get the screen lock back if you have done this once.
To get the ring lock back you'd either need to reflash your backup or would hav to use widgetlocker app.
Biggest Disadvantage :-
If you receive a call while your phone is locked, the light won't turn on, you'd fist have to unlock the phone to see the caller and then only you'd be able to receive or reject the call.
I have experimented this method on my WFS. It worked. But I didn't like the unlocking while receving the call, hence I reflashed my backup.... All the best....
rockdev - please tell me are there any problems with the sense 2.0 lockscreen on the 2.3.5 update, beacause i'm interested in installing your rom, do you still have notifications on your screen even with this lockscreen ? my w's device is s-on with hboot 0.9000 but i am going to unlock it if this method is worth, or do you suggets otherwise. 10x in advance

No problems with mine at this stage the lockscreen works perfectly, it runs very well.I still have all the notifications and everything. It is stock standard expect the lockscreen and the power fix for longer battery life. my phone is s-on i have hboot 1.08.009 but i have the bootloader unlocked through htc.I flash it from CWM in recovery mode hope that helps.

I totally agree.... It's just a basic lockscreen but the problem is that to get this, you'd require to be rooted. S-On wouldn't be a problem.... You can still handle it but as already said, while attending the call, you'd require to unlock the phone first....
Enjoy....
ok, so let get this straight, the lock screen works flawlessly but when someone calls ,it won't unlock itself for me to pick up, (like in in sense 2.0, where you need to swype up and down in order to answer or reject), and i have to first unlock the screen (while phone is ringing) and second to swype, also i'd like to thank you for your quick responses.

Yes that's correct you need to swipe it sideways to unlock the phone then either except or decline the phone call. I prefer to do this as with the lock rings i was always missing calls or worse hanging them up.I can do another rom with the slide down unlock if that's preferred I actually built that type first it was dexoed zipalined... but I preferred the slide unlock better.
Let me know if you would prefer the slide down type of unlock as i can build another and upload it.I also have a stock 2.3.5 all original which i built first its has the lock rings.I just couldn't flash any RUU files no matter what i tried so that's why I extracted the image's from the RUU file and built my own.
cheers

Yes your correct i did root my phone after unlocking the bootloader and installed CWM, I actually forgot about that but its easy to do.The roms are not rooted though all mine have stock permissions.
Ok, long story short, after the Sense 5 update, the Bluetooth was completely messed up for me. Not only did the "Visible to All Devices" option never stick with each consecutive toggle, it never seemed to work or pair correctly with any other device and required me to constantly un-pair said device and re-pair it. This plagued me for a while till I was playing around with the Bluetooth configs in the system while working on my ROM. What I did was essentially edit the configs to make the settings stick.
IMPORTANT
When I tested it on my ROM, I lost the ability to make Bluetooth "Only Visible to Paired Devices" and could only switch between "Visible to nearly all devices" and "Never visible" or something similar. However, when I created a flashable zip and tried it on ARHD, everything worked fine with no missing options. Remember, anything could go wrong. I ended up with missing options, you may end up with crippled Bluetooth altogether. Always make a backup or have a ROM zip lying around to reflash in case of emergency
What does this MOD do ?
1. Makes sure toggles such as "Visible to nearly all devices" sticks after toggling Bluetooth On/Off
2. Fixes any Bluetooth issues when switching Bluetooth On/Off such as device connecting errors like I faced
3. Less issues when using A2DP (doesn't require constant un-pairing and re-pairing to make it work like it did most of the time)
Intructions
1. Download the ZIP
2. Make a backup (unless you have the balls to go through with no backup plan )
3. Flash the ZIP
Optional - 4. Wipe dalvik cache & cache
5. Reboot and enjoy
Download MOD
Download Rollback zip to undo chnages
Uses in other ROMs
ROM devs and chefs alike are allowed to use this MOD in their work. You don't need to drop me a PM or anything, just give credits and link this thread in your Changelogs to avoid issues with my MOD cluttering up your ROM thread.
Notes
1. I made this MOD to solve a problem I faced with Sense 5. It has solved my problem, it may solve yours too if you have the same. If it doesn't, refrain from posting negative posts here.
2. This is the first time I've attempted tampering with the system configs to such a degree to fix a problem such as this. If you feel there are ways I can improve on this MOD, please feel free to advise me or give suggestions.
3, If you face any issue, be patient with me. Like I said, this is my first time attempting something like this and I only succeeded by sheer luck.
I will get around to making a rollback zip for this MOD to save you guys the time and trouble of making backups till then, hope this helps
I would like to try this as A2DP usually fails to connect for me. I have to open up bluetooth settings, disable media streaming and then re-tick it to get it working which is inconvenient.
Could you upload it to a site that I don't have to sign up to to download? Thanks

Anytime.
Added a rollback zip. Flash it if you want your old bluetooth back
Thanks mate but I flashed the zip and sadly it didn't fix my connection error. Do I have to delete and re-add my bluetooth adaptor? I didn't get chance to try this earlier.

Sadly it hasn't worked. Same problems as before. Slide the phone onto the car cradle, bluetooth turns on and phone audio connects but not media. Slide off and back on again and all connects ok... most times.
** Got Verizon Note 4 Dev Edition to work with Alliance T-Mobile ROM!! Data, calling, sms, mms work ! I smell a daily driver! **
ATTENTION: Please be careful make a nandroid of your current Verizon ROM. I am not responsible if you break your phone or lose data on your device!
**This is using the BETA version of Alliance ROM for T-Mobile Note 4. Read this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/not...-0-1-allianceromn910t-18-themes-huge-t3085560 to get an idea of the features of this ROM. Give lacoursiere18 and hsbadr a thanks and donate to them for making this great ROM and kernel.
Follow these steps one after the other and don't stop**
1. Make sure you are on a stock OAF Lollipop ROM using Multisystem #1 kernel, I think I used Rick's OAF Lollipop ROM. I am on BOG modem so I'm pretty sure any Lollipop modem will work with this.
2. Make copies on your SD card of:
- system/buildprop.xml & cscversion.txt
- system system/etc/apns-config.xml
- system/etc/permissions/verizon_net_sip_library.xml & vzwapnlib.xml
- system/lib/libril.so & libsec-ril.so
- system/apps/VzwActivationAgent & vzwapnpermission folders
- system/framework/VZWAPNLib.apk
- system/privapp/VZWAPNService & secmms_candy folders
- system/csc folder
Reboot
4. Reboot into recovery and make a TWRP backup of everything
5. While in recovery dirty flash Alliance ROM BETA on top of stock lollipop ROM OAF that is using Multisystem #1 kernel (Wipe everything except data, and SD of course.)
6. Delete system/privapp/diagmonagent.apk and system/lib/libdiagmonagent.so because at startup it was sending some kind of diagnostics and thought it was messing with the data drop. Ever since these changes and a reboot data has been stable!
Reboot
7. Download root browser and swap those copied files in the appropriate file location. Change them to the correct permissions (the folders get 0755 and the files 0644, compare with other files and folders that are in place already. Make sure you change the permissions on all folders copied over and their contents). **Longest Step**
Reboot
8. Edit feature.xml in the system/csc folder and add:
<CscFeature_RIL_ForceConnectMMS>true
</CscFeature_RIL_ForceConnectMMS>
Above these tags on the bottom :
</FeatureSet>
</SamsungMobileFeature>
This enables auto download mms when data is toggled off !
Reboot
9. Make an backup in TWRP and you have your own custom ROM
I'm pretty sure this ROM is not compatible with xposed but it is very customizable, smooth, and it comes with a lot of features built in.
**READ ME**
Bugs:
- Silent mode is only available using the toggle. Volume down only goes to vibrate.
**
- Battery section in settings is missing
- No way to remove battery percentage in status bar
(Workaround: Download "Battery Usage Shortcut" from the Playstore to access the battery section and to remove battery percentage)
**
- No way to uninstall 3mint battery mod without messing the systemui up
- Now that the mobile network settings are correct the advanced calling option is avaliable but it force closes and messes up your data connection. A reflash of everything will be needed so don't click on it! (I have a feeling a Verizon app is missing but not going crazy about this)
Any suggestions or thoughts about these current bugs would be helpful.
I cannot guarantee all Alliance settings will work but most of them do, it's awesome.
This manual port is now stable ! All basic phone functions work. Let me know if you come across any bugs or issues not related to Alliance settings. I will try to help fix it.
Thanks Stedrocklp for taking the time to try and get this working. Jal3223 thanks for sharing that key porting info!!! Wouldn't be possible without your help! Thanks hsbadr for developing Multisystem kernel ! Thanks lacoursiere18 for creating this ROM !
I did the same thing with similar results. Unfortunately I don't have the knowledge needed to get it functioning on the VZW N4. I still faithfully run alliance on my N3 and am dying to have it on my N4. Maybe we should try to get one of our great devs to hook us up.

I hear you man I came from the Note 2 with Alliance. That would be nice hopefully one sees this thread. So I should be a little more descriptive with the process of getting it stable with just mms and sms failing. I am sure coming from any LP ROM without xposed preloaded will work. I dirty flashed from Ricks ROM and get a Play Services error and it keeps popping up. I went into the app info of Google settings app, clicked manage storage, and wiped all data and then cache. After that it seems stable. I also edited the build.prop using build prop editor and changed all the tmo entries with vzw, saved, and rebooted and got the Verizon data icon signals. The mms and sms issue I believe has something to do with APNS but idk how that works. There is no way to edit the APNs in the mobile network settings by the way. I'm dying to get this to work too lol
I actually went in and put in the Verizon apns in the apns-conf.xml and I still couldn't get sms to work. What's funny is that I did get MMS to work so when I sent a message to anyone, I would send a pic too. My friends and family were like why do you keep sending nonsense photos LOL. Would it be something with the kernel/boot.img you think?

What values do you replace in the apns-conf.xml ? Yeah it's probably the boot.img how do we replace that? I tried doing this in the past but couldn't find our boot.img in a ROM. And every time I zipped the ROM back it never flashes always an error. I think it needs to be signed but idk how to do that. We're almost there !
I am going to try to swap the APN's and the boot IMG from a working Verizon rom and see what happens. I got so close to having it work I just couldn't get sms to work no matter what edits or adjustments I made. Having the MMS work meant that there was hope there must just be something I am missing. Let me do some tinkering and see if I can come up with something functional. If there is a will there is a way. Right?

Maybe we should replace these files too? And what do you think this sentence means? That could be the problem, maybe? Lol
So far I have swapped the APNs and have copied the verizon specific apps that you mentioned. I am currently at the alliance boot animation but ? takes so long to load on the first boot I can't tell if it's stuck or I am impatient.

Well I am getting closer to success. I got it to boot all the way though and go through the setup process. One problem; No Service! For some reason I am getting no service at all so I will have to recheck that all the Verizon BS is in place and working. Geesh Verizon sure does make this more difficult than it needs to be. Moving in the right direction though!

That's great that you got it to boot. Even though this may seem tedious, maybe try doing one verizon specific app by one? And maybe try replacing the T-Mobile mms-candy with the verizon one. I forgot lacoursiere18 recommended that when I was trying to make it work in the past. I tried doing it while I had Alliance installed and it messed up the app. The emoji kinda like this one was in place of the send button. It was actually pretty funny that that happens but idk maybe having it pre-installed will have better results? He also said something about the libs but I guess we should try one change at a time lol
I read the permissions of this application and it seems to deal with sending and receiving text messages and mms. Maybe this is the piece that was missing after editing the apns?
The T-mobile variant has two. Bin files the I removed thinking the we wanted to use the verizon modem but maybe they need to be there so I just added them back. I added the activation agent and all other verizon apps and libs. I couldn't find a lib file for mms_candy but I did swap them. Did you edit anything when you flashed or did you just flash as-is?

So far I only flashed as is. What values did you change on the apn config to get mms working? I completely swapped it with the Verizon one but that didn't work.
Got mms to work using GoSms and manually configuring the APN the msmc whatever to http://mms.vtext.com/servlets/mms
And the mms port to 80.
Now if we can only get sms to send we have a fully functioning alliance ROM on Verizon !
I figure others would enjoy this. Please make a backup with TWRP before flashing (I experience no issues but you never know)
This replaces the Sprint Startup/Shutdown animations with Samsung's. (Including sounds)
If this is the wrong section please move it. I was going to post in Android Development but was unsure. Thanks!
Is there anyway to make custom intro animations or are we stuck with official samsung/sprint ones? Either way thank you!

We were all noobs once.
First off. I am not sure that these still work. Be careful and make a backup in TWRP. See https://android.gadgethacks.com/how...ck-up-restore-your-android-with-twrp-0175300/ for a guide.
Then plug your phone into your computer. You should be able to use Windows Explorer (or whatever you have) to explore your phone. You will see a whole bunch of file folders. Make a new one with a name that you can remember. I use "ROM" for mine, but you could call yours "Flash" or "Michael." Whatever you like. Put the zip file there.
Reboot to Recovery, which is TWRP. Select install and then navigate to the directory that you created, where you put the zip. Select it and flash.
You sir are awesome and a gentleman for responding, I watched some stupid video online where the guy had me extract the contrents manually change permissions, messed everything up. I am sort of Post Noob but still Noob with stupid questions like how to flash your zip, but not noob enough to not make recoveries, which i did. The only lingering issue I have is because I completely DeSprinted My Device to the point where nothing Sprint is Left anymore to send this phone to my cousin overseas, that the initial boot takes slightly longer. But it boots fine, the biggest bastard challenge was the sprint visual voicemail which i titanium froze and finally allowed me to enter a number....pheww. The dreaded sprint Boot Screen was all that was left and you sir helped me. Thank you very much. Thank you so so much. (I Swear Sprint is the Mobile Bloat Cancer of Modding)
This is my first ever ROM to post up. I just recently started building them. This is a stock deodexed Nougat ROM that is pre rooted. It is 100% AT&T Nougat with just a few fixes. I have left all Samsung and AT&T bloat for those that want all the bloat but like to be rooted and deodexed.
Follow the steps below for installation:
Step 1: You must already be on Nougat firmware. There are various threads on how to do this but if you can not figure it out just ask and i will try to assist you the best i can.
Step 2: Once on Nougat, root your device. Follow this guide https://forum.xda-developers.com/tm...eres-how-rooted-nougat-s7-edge-g935t-t3567502
Step 3: Once Rooted, install Flash fire from playstore.
Step 4: Open Flashfire and grant SuperSU access, once you are at the main menu, press the + and select Flash ZIP or OTA, go to the place you stored the ROM and selecet it. On the next screen MAKE SURE "Mount /system read/write" is selected and click the check mark in the upper right hand corner.
Step 5: Click the + sign again and select "Wipe", leave the defaulted boxes checked (System data, 3rd party apps, and Dalvik cache) and click the check mark in the upper right corner again. ( optional, you can select internal storage but you don't have to).
Step 6: VERY VERY IMPORTANT, select and hold down on Wipe and move it above "Flash ZIP or OTA"
Step 7: Make sure EverRoot is disabled and Reboot is set to normal.
Step 8: Click the lightning bolt and then yes on the next prompt, and let FF do it's thing.
*****Be patient, it will take up to 15 min to boot but most times it is quicker than that.*****

This is 100% stock rooted, deodex, if it didn't work on stock unrooted, chances are that it don't work on this one either.
Hello, I've flashed the rom and loving it so far, it is buttery smooth and seems to have the same battery drain as in stock, but two problems... Every reboot or when I just turn off the wifi, it forgets the password. I've tried build prop editor and set ro.securestorage.suppprt to false, but no success. Another problem, Blutooth won't turn on. It used to before I changed the build prop, but now, it just doesn't turn on. I'm not sure if it is a problem with nougat root or your rom itself, I would love some answers. Otherwise the rom is great and I hope you continue to update it as there isn't a lot of development in AT&T.

Thank you for your feedback. I have experienced the Bluetooth issue on another more custom rom that I'm building, i haven't pin pointed it yet but am still working on it. I was originally thinking it had something to do with something that i removed from the rom (bloat) because when i run this rom with all the bloat i didn't have the issue. I will switch back to this rom and run it for a few days and see if the issue pops back up. As for the WiFi password, i have no problem with that and i have mine set to "true". I'll look into it though and get back with you.
For the battery drain, install kernel auditor, settings menu in top left corner, go to cpu, and set the governor to "on Demand" that will help a little bit.

Thank you. The Bluetooth problem was fixed when I reverted the changes I made in build prop, and for the wifi problem I think it was something I froze in titanium backup, since I froze some bloat etc.

The changes you made in build.prob? You mean by setting the secure.storage to false? I do know that on the custom Rom I'm building, i had it set to false and i was having the blue tooth issue, for the WiFi issue, it could be something you froze, can you SS your frozen list.

Thanks, the only two things that I'm not sure what it is, is UPSM_N and com.android.Samsung. M. I'm not saying that could be causing it but I'll habe to research what those two things are. Thank you.

I defrosted android.samsung, but cannot defrost upsm.n, weird. This doesn't seem to be the problem as it still persists.

So your still having the WiFi problem not remembering password after reboot? My ro.secure is set to true and I'm not having the issue.

Unfortunately, yes. Maybe something went wrong when I flashed the rom... I'll try reflashing the rom later , when I have time.

ok. Yea i would try that. I can't duplicate the issue on my end. Leave the ro.secure storage set to true and see if that fixed it. That's what mine is set at and I'm not having any problems with Bluetooth or passwords at this moment.

I have reflashed the rom and also added a dual speaker mod. Everything is working like a charm. Bluetooth and Wifi are all working.
Flashed this and it works fine, but I also experience WiFi 'losing' passwords.
I just flashed it again and no change. In fact, from the time I enter the WiFi password during setup until setup is done, I have to re-enter WiFi password because it 'forgets' (it reports authentication error later after having worked fine initially)
Any other ways to fix this so I don't have to keep re-entering passwords like this?

Use root explorer, go to system/build.prop and make sure ro.secure.storage is set to "true" as shown in the attachment. I live around Houston TX so we're prepping for the hurricane at the moment so I might be oit for a few days but I'll try to check back on here as soon as I can. Another issue that has been brought up is the phone forgetting Bluetooth device after a reboot. At this moment there is no fix for it that i can find. As soon as I can find a fix for this i will upload a new version.

* Fixes i added
