Hello everyone,
I am considering switching to AT&T from Sprint. Can anyone tell me how the data speeds are and service around that area. I have looked at the coverage charts on the website but understand that actual experience varies. I have always been on CDMA service so this is new to me. Thanks for the help!

No one has any experience in MI?

I currently have the 16 gb wifi Nexus 7 (2013). As everyone knows the new LTE model was just made available.
Should I buy a T mobile lte hotspot
Or
The lte Nexus model
PS I have a sprint note 2 and my coverage is terrible, so that's why I'm not tethering from this

I'd say the tmobile hotspot would be more useful as you can tether other devices or share the connection out to other family members. However, it is one additional device to carry around. :victory:

I would think it's annoyance but if I'm going to have my Nexus with me I'm going to have a backpack anyway and a smaller hotspot wouldn't be too bad.... Would it? Lol

You'd be surprised. I can palm the N7 with a single hand and it also fits in quite a few of my walking short front pockets (ie. sliding completely in and out of sight). So I'd say a backpack is not a must with the N7.
Definitely not but it just seems as though I always have a backpack so bringing a small additional device wouldn't add any noticeable additional weight

I would choose the LTE model myself. You should be able to use that as a hotspot to other devices when needed, and the rest of the time you wouldn't have to worry about keeping an extra device charged and watching battery. Just my opinion.

I just wanted to update my post to let you know that there are some conflicting reports on the ability to tether the US version of the LTE Nexus 7, so check that before you make a decision. See the LTE thread in the general section.

How well would my s4 work on the AT&T network? Thinking of making the switch only because TMO has very bad coverage @ my place of employment and zero coverage @ my new home. Please do consider that I will apply the appropriate compatible radios/rom(s) for ATT.

Yes.
You have to SIM unlcock it. There is a guide around here somewhere. It's really easy.
Do not switch radios. Let me say that again. Do not flash an AT&T radio. You will not be happy.
OK thanks. I appreciate it. I've subscribed to the sim unlock topic, just need to do it. And I wont be flashing the radio!

I use my T-Mobile gs4 on AT&T, but be sure to check your APNs, otherwise you might not be getting LTE.

Trade a T-Mobile m8 for a tmobile note 3

All day long! Note 3 is a fantastic phone...

Wow, thats a great trade on at least one end. I don't know how dedicated to the M8 you would have to be, but maybe they wanted to give it a try?
There is a sticky to discuss other devices and comparisons. Please use it.
Thanks

So any recent news on the update guys I really hate sprint

Only Custom. ? Although, I have a question, since I'm without service now. What is the OTA update version (zv7, zv8, zva, zvc, etc...) of their last official release? I want to keep an eye out when the sources are posted on the opensource.lge.com server.

Korea isn't international? Hmm, I'm pretty sure from the USA it is international to us. International such as Europe will have before us.

If you want out use either one of the other major carriers buy out your contract deal.
All in all, sometimes putting up with a little bull ****, for less is worth it.
As for me being disabled with a wife and children. Money is more important then an upgrade. And sprint is cheaper.
So I deal with it.

It's a known fact that Sprint never get updates, so sorry but you have no clue. They are usually one of the first. And all carriers charge you a fee to get out of your contract.

Are right guys I owned the optimus g and never got sufficient updates that's all people are saying yeah I know sprint is cheaper but it's a reason it's so cheap is because of the network it sucks
Sent from my LG-LS980 using XDA Free mobile app
It does, though sometimes the updates are not just sprint but manufacturers because of sprint.
We have a different NFC chip then the other versions of our phones. CDMA of sprint is antiquated.
There have been 5 updates to the Sprint G2 since it's release. That's quite a few yes?
Anyways, Lollipop is still going to be a while since Sprint isn't even testing it yet based on this - http://device.sprintpcs.com/LG/LS980-SPRINT/latest
