Nokia Store is the best option to download apps and games onto your Nokia X, Nokia X+, or Nokia XL. So, what’s changed? Let’s explore.
Nokia-X_Nokia-Store_update
The first thing you’ll notice is that Nokia Store is much more pleasing to the eye.
Stylized with vivid colors and with apps and games cascading downwards, this new design also features a refreshed menu bar, making it easier to navigate and discover great content.
Once you’ve found your new favorite app, downloading has never been easier.
Simply tap on the new ‘quick download’ button and you’re moments away from getting your game (or app) on…
While the Nokia Store is already home to a countless number of apps, additional third-party managed and operated app stores are also available to explore.
If you’re always on the lookout for the next big app or game, then make sure you pin the Nokia Collection widget to your start screen. With three apps on show at any one time and scrolling periodically, the chances of discovering something new and exciting are greatly improved.
The Nokia Store update will be rolling out from today. Just simply access the Nokia Store app and the client will prompt you to install the update.
Have you installed the new Nokia Store on your Nokia X or XL? Let us know in the comments below.

Hmmm.. Is Nokia Play available for USA customers? Is it called something else maybe? I can't seem to find it.

Nokia Play is available through the Nokia Beta Labs... unfortunately, I can't post a link since I don't have enough posts, but a quick search and sign-up will get you the app link.
Here is the link.
Check out this app http://windowsphone.com/s?appid=4b5312b6-951f-4dd2-9abe-d7c2304890f1
"Play To" is one of thousands of great apps for Windows Phone. See more at WindowsPhone.com

Thanks for the info here guys! Snagged a Lumia 900 and am liking it so far. Will be cool to stream stuff from my phone to the tv. I have a google tv and will see if there is an app that will work with the DLNA services.

So, no wired solutions then. Those of us without a computer or Xbox have to keep everything on device at this time.
Since the direct link only works on the phone itself (Desktop just gets an error link), here's a scan-able QR code so you can easily get this on your device itself.

What does everybody think about the Nokia X2?
It seems (even) more heavily skinned, with a Windows Phone app menu, and WP-like multitasker.
On the other hand, they have returned the Android Settings and Notifications drop down menu to their ROM.
Also, the older Nokia X, X+ and XL aren't getting the new X Software Platform 2.0, but I'm sure the Stock Google KitKat roms made by the excellent devs here will fulfil the upgrade requirements of these users - so they won't be left in the cold like WP7 and MeeGo users in the past :good:

Edit: Just noticed that there's a new forum added for the X2, if mods could move this thread there, I'd appreciate it.

The APK is signed by Google and upgrades your existing app. The cryptographic signature guarantees that the file is safe to install and was not tampered with in any way. Rather than wait for Google to push this download to your devices, which can take days, download and install it just like any other APK.
File name: com.android.vending-4.9.13.apk
Version: 4.9.13 (Android 2.2+)

Looks great
Works great and very beautiful than other
Finally a good update for something from google.
cheers brah
nice update! thx man!
Nice, thank you.
Thanks for the share! It seems like they want more hot blooded people to install apps without even reading the description, since they obviously hidden it
edit:
We are replacing the previous 'Promo text' field with the 'Short description' field.
In the Play Store, the short description is the first introduction to your app your potential customers will see (See an example). Make sure the short description gives a good enticing summary of what your app is about.
On August 31st, 2014 the short description will become mandatory and you will have to supply a short description before you can make any changes to your Store listing
Can we please please get a black or preferably transparent theme for this? I love the layout but I despise white

"Plugged In" is an Android app done using Tasker. Actually I am a big fan of Tasker and the way it works. I even found lots of other apps which features the same idea but not the way I am presenting today. I even posted about this profile on my blog nexusandme.com about a month back and that became one of the most viewing post so far. So I then thought of exporting it as a standalone app and I am successful in doing that. Download link at the end of the post.
Features :
1. Media select dialogue pops irrespective of on whatever screen you may be on.
2. works even when the device is locked.
3. Tested on almost all OEM devices including tabs, working fine without any issues.
Just plugin and play.
Size : 1.1mb
What's New in Ver.1.4:
1.Added YouTube and Dialer apart from Google play music, mx player, chrome. Total 5 apps
2.Reduced the dialogue size that fits displays ranging from 3.5inch to 5.5
3.Scroll down for chrome and dialer apps
4. changed icons size to 124x124 HD
Installation :
Like other apps download > install and trigger it for the first time. Now try by plugging in your earphones.
Please let me know how's the app. Find it useful then share it with your fellow buddy's.

custom apps selection is critical.

Edit: OP need to be updated says v1.4 should be v1.5.
Thanks for the app.
Looks nice good job :good:

Great app, but please add Spotify.
https://9to5google.com/2021/12/04/google-play-store-adds-more-prominent-button-to-check-for-updates/
Server-side updates are common for the Google Play Store, and currently yet another is headed to users. For some, the Google Play Store is adding a much more prominent way to check for updates.
Available under Play Store > Settings > About, this new option simply builds on existing functionality. For some users, a “Update Play Store” button appears underneath the Play Store version to quickly allow users to check for an upgrade to the app marketplace easily.
Prior to this change, the Play Store did offer a method of checking for updates to its own app, but it wasn’t very intuitive. Tapping on the Store’s version number would trigger a check for updates available to the app, but because there was no clear indication of this functionality, most users weren’t aware it existed.
This more prominent button certainly makes it more obvious that users can, in fact, check for updates to the Play Store itself, but it’s not yet rolled out widely. Our Kyle Bradshaw is seeing the option on his Pixel 6 Pro, as pictured below, and we’ve had at least one other report showing that it works on Android 10 as well. Hopefully, we’ll see this option roll out more widely in the near future.
