Have sopcast working with xbmc and p2p. Cannot get acestream working within FTV. tried ftping and sideloading. Got the P2P module installed and it successfully downloaded & installed acestream. Live acestream feeds work on the computer so I know they are good. Sopcast successfully launches on sportsdevil, but no acestream launches. Is this a problem with FTV? How would you go about setting up an external ace engine on the computer to circumvent this issue? Stream torrents and ace streams will not launch with the P2P module. Any info is appreciated.
I just got it working after finding a program addon called ace client alpha while looking in the SuperRepo repostitory. I already had both Sopcast and AceStream .apk's installed , then I installed this Ace client and now it's working.
Well it was working.....Doh....

I have ace alpha installed, and the p2p installed it. Cannot manually launch ace alpha or ace and stream torrents through the p2p plugin which successfully installed. Sopcast works like a champ. Would consider a remote ace server if I can figure out whats involved.
Here's my current understanding of the issues
How it should work:
Sideload Acestream 2.1.11 apk
Launch Acestream app to initialize
Open XBMC, load an acestream stream
System switches briefly to the Acestream app, then back to XBMC to play stream
Somehow this whole process mysteriously stops working, and subsequent runs or uninstall/installs of acestream result in some kind of "no module named ACESTREAM found" error from within the Acestream app. Reports are that a reset/restore of the FireTV and then reinstalling XBMC & Acestream will get it working again for a few runs, but I'm not sure anyone has figured out why.
I have tried multiple versions of xbmc (beyond, frodo, gotham) and about 5 versions of acestream. The 2.1.1 refuses to launch. the other versions launch but timeout with an "input error." Currently trying to find a working apk file. Wonder if we can launch acestreams with torrent tv or mx player or vlc. The high bitrate is nice but this refuses to work. Gotham is the only version that auto launches the sideloaded ace player. But the ace player starts up then shows an error message. The settings button on the ace player doesn't even respond. Wonder if there is any way to setup the external / remote acestream player on a computer then link over to it via the lan. Trying to determine if its xbmc, FTV or the ace player itself. So far, no dice.
I ftp'd into the acestream folder. Here's the log file. Maybe somebody knows how to fix this.
Traceback (most recent call last):
File "/data/data/org.acestream.engine/files/main.py", line 21, in <module>

I'm no expert, but according to your trace it seems it cannot find ACEStream

Mine is working perfectly with Acesteam. Maybe you should reinstall xbmc.

2.1.1
I'm getting buffering issues, dunno if it's my adsl line or xbmc itself. It sometimes bombs out of xbmc.
What is the general buffering settings it should be on?
I want to just use sopcast on xbmc on fire tv. That is why I don't want to install the p2p add on, as that will download and install acestream.
Can anyone let me know how to just install and use sopcast. I can access the links to sopcast. Just need to know how to be able to use sopcast on the device.
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks
To help buffering go in Xunity Maintenance / Tweeks / Add 0 Cache Advanced XML and select Yes. It will pre-cache streams to the drive if you pause it for a minute or so and the buffering might stop.
For sopcast get it at apk-dl.com or the google store and just side load it. There's not a lot of things listed so it might be better to install the p2p addon and launch it from there.

Thanks for your reply. I think installing p2p add on will automatically install acestream. I really don't want acestream. Is there a way to make the add on Not install acestream.. Or some other way to just run sopcast? Thanks

I am experiencing the exact same issue now. All of a sudden AceStream does not want to work anymore. When trying to launch it, it just flashes like trying to open. The acestream engine gives me also the " could not locate an AceStream file or something like that.
I wonder if Amazon is doing this or what could be the cause of it.
Any idea guys

Did a fresh install of gotham stable. Got ace 2.11 to actually launch once! Was able to access the setting menu. Some guys were mentioning buffering with acestream. Remember, it shares bandwidth. Ace is peer to peer so it uploads as well as downloads. Did load the .torrenter module. Started to launch acestream but failed. So far no dice getting ace to work.
P2P Kodi Acestream not loading
I installed Kodi to amazon fire tv and I am trying to make P2P to work
I configured it to use local and all addon but when I try to load an acestream link it just stays forever in the Pre-buffering

Hi, registered to post my solution.
I found out that this has something to do with acestream's cache folder. For some reason it only works once, then it generates some cache and upon next boot acestream fails to start, because of the cache.
so what I did. I sideloaded "tasker" application, in which I made 3 rules, that happen on boot:
run ssh script: rm -r /storage/emulated/legacy/org.acestream.engine
start acestream
start kodi (Im using kodi, so 3rd rule is optional )
if anyone gets more details/better sollutions for the problem please let us know!
Good luck, guys.
PS first of all just try deleting the cache folder manually, so you dont go through installing tasker, making rules. just in case this solution does not work for you

If not can you send me more details on how to set up in tasker as I'm struggling or can you possibly export the tasker set up and send me to

Here is my Solution for ace Stream, if it fails to start.
First sideload the latest ace stream engine APK to FireTV/Stick, then start it.
So when you reboot FireTV, ace Stream Engine wont start
Just install ES File Explorer from FireTV AppStore (you have to use your USB mouse or mouse Remote mouse from App Store), open it, go to local and delete the complete AceStream folder. May You have to install ace Stream Engine again. But from now on it will work Fine, even if you reboot your FireTV etc.

Yes it would be a good idea to converge everything in a single thread & that would increase productivity.
Unfortunately, I have (almost) no programming knowledge & no hardware knowledge. My current situation doesn't allow me to drop my studies & indulge into all of this (in which I am interested).
So I would be of little help, I suppose.

Hey dude!
Has anything to do the VoiceCommand with apps_compressed?
I mean:
In the Chinese LB4, the command doesn't appears, even set in MainMenu.ini. VoiceCommand.so exists but it weights less than the same file in other firms.
Do you think, replacing it and the signature with an older one will make it work?

Yesterday it was late...
Maybe not all correct as first inital *.so...
Few apps use more then 1 *.so.
As this is linked libraries... like DLL in Windows World...

In Android these files are stored in folder lib... maybe like library.
Maybe also Navigation.so is not only Navi... maybe whole GPS...
I need more brain... ehm more time.
Has anything to do the VoiceCommand with apps_compressed?

At the moment I would say all *.so files have to do with apps_compressed... as they are not standalone... they are parts of something...

WebAppLoader.exe.sig
Osp\Applications\SysExt\webapp
Any idea what this is for? Maybe how to start...
At the moment I can only say...
If this App still in Shp.app, then all other Apps from OSP can be deleted...
As it seems since bada 1.x that 1 app is mandatory, otherwise Wave not boot...
It is secured/checked by same Cert...
I'm playing with XPKG5 ...
Goal is to remove all apps... to play with *.so files and Certs...

Hi Guys,
I'm trying to port to Android 5.0 to a new device (BQ Aquaris E5 4G) and I can't make it fully boot. I'm always hitting this error :
Code:
pid: 634, tid: 634, name: servicemanager >>> /system/bin/servicemanager <<<
signal 6 (SIGABRT), code -6 (SI_TKILL), fault addr --------
I can't give you ADB Logcat as logcat doesn't seams to work (adb works fine, I can browse adb shell and so on). It kept giving me this error : "logcat read failure: No such file or directory"
The only thing I've got is some tombstone files witch all look similar (please see one attached)
If you could give me an hint that would be great
I tried to change the kernel also but everytime I boot it (using fastboot boot newboot.img) I get a dark blinking screen.
Thanks and merry christmas!

Hello guys,
I'm pretty new here and I've seen that there lots of experienced people here who might be able to help me out.
I have an unrooted fire tv 4k updated to the latest software version FOS 6, and I'm trying to sniff https traffic of some apps.
I've tried to follow that guide in : https://developer.amazon.com/docs/fire-tv/system-xray-developer-tools.html
what I did was the following :
0) downloaded the cert and installed it as shows in the URL
1) I used adb to pull the apk
2) then used apkeasy tool to decompile the apk
3) edited the mainfest.xml using notepad++ and added something like:
<application android:theme="@android:style/Theme.NoTitleBar.Fullscreen" android:label="@string/app_name" android:icon="@drawable/launcher_icon" android:name=".WKFapplication" android:debuggable="true" android:allowBackup="false" android:networkSecurityConfig="@xml/network_security_config" android:banner="@drawable/banner">
4) added the following res/xml/network_security_config.xml to your Android project to explicitly trust all installed certificates:
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
<network-security-config>
<debug-overrides>
<trust-anchors>
<!-- Trust the following CA while debuggable only -->
<certificates src="user"/>
</trust-anchors>
</debug-overrides>
</network-security-config>
5) compiled pack using apkeasy tool
6) then signed the apk
7) used adb to install it again to my device
Now, whenever I run the app I get "unauthorized request", please keep in mind that I have had allowed installing apps from unknown sources if that matters.
Can someone tell me what am I doing wrong and what is the reason for this error?
Hello,
I recently wanted to download some firmware for my Samsung device, but I realized that there is no 100% open source program to do so. In fact, all the tools that claim to do so require a library that is packed by Themida (so it is difficult to check what this might be doing), in order to authenticate to the server. This is a native DLL, meaning that it is only compatible with Windows x86. Additionally, many of these tools are actually using stolen decompiled code from SamFirm, which, apart from being possibly illegal, means they would be difficult to maintain and run slowly.
So, I decided to reverse engineer Smart Switch to figure out exactly how the download is taking place, and wrote a cross-platform tool that does this without using the Windows DLL that the other tools have, making it compatible with Linux and MacOS. I also realized that the newer versions are actually using a new version of the authentication algorithm, meaning possibly at some point the old tools might stop working as Samsung drops support for it.
You can find it at:
Code:
https://github.com/nlscc/samloader
To install, go to the downloaded repository and run:
Code:
pip3 install .
See the README or look at the code for usage. You might want to know that my old github account, nm111, was unfortunately deleted, and I lost access to my old XDA account. You can see the verified email is the same however.
Feel free to use the algorithms I figured out in your own code, so long as you don't use it in proprietary programs. It is licensed under GNU GPLv3 or later.
This works for all phones, not just S10+, but I couldn't find a better forum and this is where Frija posted.
Thank you. This is pretty cool. I downloaded it now and will check it out later tonight.
Can you please do the same thing for the emergency recovery option.
Will you update your tool if it still working in the future?
This is going to be super useful for me (ATM I'm using SamFirm with wine/proton and my setup breaks often, and GUI gets in my way) since I need to download many firmwares for my reverse-engineering, so thanks!
Late for this great find, thanks to the xda article, really needed a solution outside Windows.
PS, what are the chances for spoofing a request, i.e, trying to fetch only the latest OTA from a certain CSC?
@nn000 Glad this made the front page. I have used this for a little wile now and it works great
@phhusson
This will work on windows if you use the WSL and install Ubuntu. You could probably get this working under Cygwin too.
Great work mate. Helps to gather various download. Unfortunately enough Samshung does not allow older firmware via server fetching..
Hi, thanks for this great tool as samfirm and frija are slow to download firmwares. I am trying to download firmware for galaxy watch. I can only search the firmware version but when trying to download it there is error:
filename = root.find("./FUSBody/Put/BINARY_NAME/Data").text
AttributeError: 'NoneType' object has no attribute 'text'
is there any way to modify this tool to download watch firmware too?
You are genius! Thanks for this tool. Can't wait to try this :good:

Brilliant work!
Thank you very much for developing this tool and removing our dependency on Windows for such basic functionality as checking for and downloading firmware updates. Thank you also for having the foresight and generosity to publish this under the GPL.
This tool will receive a huge amount of use on my machines.
Thanks in advance, I don't know how to download the program, they would be so kind to give me a link. Thank you very much
I tried installing with the command found in the readme file
Code:
pip3 install git+https://github.com/nlscc/samloader.git
But when I type
Code:

It says "samloader: command not found"
Beautiful. Thanks for this tool!

The problem is right there in front of you: Microsoft Visual C++ 14.0 is required. Get it with "Build Tools for Visual Studio": https://visualstudio.microsoft.com/downloads/
It's pretty annoying when there are requirements and you find out about them afterwards.
Would be good to write them to the install instructions
- python3
- git
- Buildtools for MS C++
Thanks for this, it works well! Cheers..

Next:
Clear dialer data
Open dialer and force close (clear from recent apps)
Open the dialer once again and in settings screen, you should see: "call recording"
Optional:
Depending on your location, you might get a pre-recording prompt notifying you (and the other party on the line) that the call may be recorded. This can be disabled by unzipping the attached file and copying the files to: /data/data/com.google.android.dialer/files/callrecordingprompt
Then in termux, run the following command
SU (unless your initial Termux session is still running)
chmod -R 777 /data/data/com.google.android.dialer/files/callrecordingprompt
Please note that disabling this prompt may be illegal depending on your jurisdiction. Some places however only require single party consent. Hence, why I posted this. You are responsible to know the laws of your jurisdiction. I will not be held liable for you breaking the law.

Good info. For those of us that are too lazy to go through those steps, there is also a tiny app available to enable call recording as well (rooted devices only). Just install, enable from the app, and after 15 minutes or so you should see the call recording button/option. Been using on my device for a bit now and no issues. There are also a ton of flags available you can experiment with, just use caution in doing so. I am not the dev and no credit goes to me. Just sharing the devs (jacopotediosi) work:

Hi buddy,
All credit for these call recording values goes to @gisthere !
But yeah, i'm still using that method on the P6Pro.
Just a note, in some regions there is a stupid voice message whenever you start recording. So, in order to eliminate that just replace these two files in /data/data/com.google.android.dialer/files/callrecordingprompt with the files inside that that zip file attached. Rename the unzipped files accordingly .

So I replaced the files and now it says "Recording Failed" when I replaced the files. What permissions are your files? Any tips?
Edit: seems like the files above are corrupt and hence why I can't get it to work.
Edit 2: It appears that the file owner, which I can't seem to reproduce, has to be exactly the same as the original file.
Edit 3: chmod -R 777 /data/data/com.google.android.dialer/files/callrecordingprompt seems to have fixed the issue.
Can we uninstall sqlite after the changes are done?

The files are not corrupt, I thought they were since I couldn't open it with VLC. Even if it is corrupt, it works with the right permission .
